July 31 2008 Disney Wonder Roll Call 07/31/08

An employee from Disney called us and left us a message saying something like "due to maintence, you are being upgraded a category and you now have a oceanview deluxe stateroom". Then she told us to change our room number on luggage tags.

How absolutely cool is that!!! Well, I guess the party will be in your cabin!party:

No but really, that's great for you. We are in one of the "secret porthole cabins" on deck 5. Because the view is slightly blocked, we are paying for an inside, while getting an outside.

Hey-secret porthole sounds great!

I can't believe we leave so soon! Hooray! :)

Wow Rora! An upgrade! What a way to start off a vacation! We are on Deck 7 Category 5. We are leaving a day earlier than planned and driving halfway down and finishing up the drive the next day and staying at the Radisson resort at the port. Can't wait to get started!

Hey Rora! I've been seeing you on the theme park boards. You replied to a thread I posted. We are spending 4 days at WDW (and 3 at US) prior to our cruise. We are staying at the BC this time, but in past visits we've been to Poly and WLV. I choose the BC this time around because of the pool, I am very anxious to see it for myself.

We leave in 6 days for our vacation. I can't wait! I even love the "getting there" part (packing, driving to airport, flying, etc). But, my absolute favorite moment is walking onto the ship for the first time! My DH, Lance, says he thinks I prefer the planning and getting there more than the actual vacation itself!

Well, would anyone like to schedule a meet on board? May I suggest meeting at Pinocchio's by the Goofy Pool immediately following the lifeboat drill? :boat: I am planning on picking up a few LGMH (lime green mickey heads) from Home Depot (Disney paint samples) to identify myself and my family as DIS-ers. Anyone else?

MTMom- I do spend quite a bit of time on the Theme Parks board!! It's the closest we can get to the parks sometimes :)

A meet would be fun! And the location you chose sounds good to me.

Any guesses on how crowded this cruise will be? Of course I know it's summer but I know some months get less activity then others. I guess I'm just hoping for less people (even though I know it's July! haha) to be on board.

I actually know the answer to this question!!! As a travel agent, and a veteran of 2 Disney cruises, I can tell you that the ship rarely, if ever, leaves port without 100% occupancy. But don't let this worry you. The boat is designed to never feel crowded. The only place that I ever feel the crowds are by the Mickey Pool. Other than that, no problem. One thing though, I have been reading that they've changed the way you show up for dinner at your designated restaurant for the evening, and it has created a little bit of a bottleneck outside the restaurants. They used to have staggered arrival times (ex. for early dining, 1/3 of the diners would arrive at 5:30 pm, 1/3 at 6:00, and 1/3 at 6:30), but I believe that now they have everyone arriving at the same time. The way to avoid this congestion (so I've read on this forum) is to arrive late.

I'm very glad that you would like to meet, and that the time and place I suggested is good for you. What about everyone else?

Well me and my so decided last min to do this cruise! We will be driving from Oklahoma and be on this ship in like less than 2 weeks!

In a previous post, I had suggested that we meet at Pinocchio's by the Goofy Pool immediately following the lifeboat drill. Anyone else interested?

I will TRY to be there, but don't be offended if I don't make it. I am a shy person and very self-conscious. Looking forward to the cruise and do hope to run into you all while we're there!!

Thanks, anyone know about weather? I keep worrying about hurricanes. I am hopeful that we will have smooth seas! I am sailing with someone who has never cruised so I want it not to be horrible!
Welcome aboard, Eek!
This should be a fabulous cruise.
