July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

*Big Smile* Thanks guys, I really am very excited, it will be our first opportunity to do back to back cruises and I am sure it will be a lot of fun :)

Of course packing suddenly became a whole lot harder, I guess I might have to familiarise myself with the ships laundry room which will be a first!

I started work on the parts of my FE gifts that I am making yesterday, it will take some time but hopefully they will come out nicely :) Got a few bits bought already and a couple more bits to get.

Time is going so quickly now :)

Hi Mel,
Yes it is our first time on Disney Cruise. We tried RCCL last year but thought it would be better to try Disney this tme with the kids.

I really hope you love DCL as much as we do. We found our first cruise on DCL with the children to be amazing. Very easy, everything is on hand. entertainment, great quality child care, child friendly dining etc... it just meant that the children had a great time and we felt like we got a holiday too.

Welcome everybody

Welcome to you all .. you will have a fantastic time onboard.

Weeeeeelllll, there is nothing like thinking you can't have something to make you want it even more! So the cat 12 rate disappeared from the DCL site for the Aug 7th cruise and I realised that I *really* wanted to go!

Well it popped back up today and I booked us! I am thoroughly excited but also thinking I am going to have to work super hard to do some extra work to get a few more pennies to pay for the extra excursions etc...

Woo Hoo - we are doing a B2B!

Mel .. that's wonderful and I'm not even a teensy weensy bit jealous :rolleyes1. Hope you get the same cabin to save you changing .. or perhaps an upgrade to the Walt Suite!

B2B on the Baltic. We leave in 4 days for pre-cruise in London! :scared1:

Safe travels everyone and we will see you on the ship :)

Have a happy and safe journey to London. Don't forget all the museums are free (the Imperial War and the Science Museums are 2 of the most popular). Theatre tickets cheap from the booth in Leicester Square and the Disney stores in Oxford Street and Covent Garden are doing a lovely range of LONDON exclusive stuff right now.

See you on board.:thumbsup2

Oh wow, that is so wonderful and I never thought I should do that as holiday full booking at work so I wish you enjoy it and it will be awesome for you... as we went by Med 07 oh I love it and want to do it again....

PS I look at price as it is good price for Cat 12 ::yes::

but I forgot that kids are back to school on 19th August lol

Scottishwee35x

Ah, I forgot that the holidays up in Scotland are different. Here the children are at school til 20th July and then off until September 1st.

Deborah, I only realised today that I had waited for my paypal account to be sorted and then when it was I hadn't sent the lanyard money. I am so sorry, it was sent today so should be in your account now.

Lucky you. You will have a fab time. Have you been given a room assignment for the 2nd cruise?

No not yet, and I have checked at least 20 times since booking it! Not so patient now!

Hopefully it is taking time to rearrange things so you do not have to move:idea:

Tonight I am going to attempt to organize all the the paperwork:headache: No matter how I organize them I always seem to have a mess of paper, any suggestions on the best way to keep track of them (airline tickets, hotel confirmations, directions etc)? I have all the email confirmations on my ipod but not sure I am brave enough to go paperless:eek:

I can't believe poohmomof5 has left already, it is coming way too fast.

Sadly they weren't rearranging so we could stay in the room as we do have to move. We got a cat 11 on deck 6 which I am perfectly happy with. We are on an 11 day cruise with 2A 2C (one is under 3 though) for $3630 so they could put me in a cupboard and I would be ok with it.

My only concern is that we were so lucky with pixie dust to a cat 8 on the repo cruise that moving to an inside afterwards might seem a shame - I will probably check the upgrade price to oceanview at the port - doubt we will take it but it doesn't hurt to ask!

I am loving reading Poohmomof5's trippie, I am sure they will have loads of fun. Re sorting out paper work, I have started online checkin, I am making my official "to do" list tonight!

Hey folks

Got my FE from gradysmommy on ebay today - it is just fabulous - I love it and of course its increased my excitement if thats possible!!!!

However, can I ask some of your seasoned cruisers some questions about my packing.......here goes

(1) How many beach towels do I need to bring - assuming the girls (3 of them) want to swim every day how many towels do I need to pack? Bearing in mind my 10 year old and I will each have a full size suitcase (on wheels) each to manage, as I am the only adult, I'm trying to be sensible about how much I bring that perhaps I could do without.

(2) I take it i need travel plugs that I would take to America but how many outlets are there in the room for all the chargers etc I need to bring??

(3) Can someone remind me where I can find a web site that calculates the suggested tips for the cast members? I read it somewhere but now for the life of me cannot remember where! I am trying to sort out my budget before we travel!

(4) Finally, for now, has anyone any idea of the price of the photo CD on our 8 night cruise? Like I say, just trying to work out what I will need for spending money!!

Thanks in advance for your replies

Bearing in mind my 10 year old and I will each have a full size suitcase (on wheels) each to manage, as I am the only adult, I'm trying to be sensible about how much I bring that perhaps I could do without.I wont bring the towel with me as disney cruise do the towel on deck but if you do the tour you can pick the towel up from the deck and return it to outside cruise.... save your weight for the flight?

(2) I take it i need travel plugs that I would take to America but how many outlets are there in the room for all the chargers etc I need to bring?? I try to think as it is in toilet and yes in stateroom too... it is usa plug...

(3) Can someone remind me where I can find a web site that calculates the suggested tips for the cast members? I read it somewhere but now for the life of me cannot remember where! I am trying to sort out my budget before we travel!I do have it but laptop crashed and wipe out everything.... so I will find it out from my computer...hope someone can pass it to you

(4) Finally, for now, has anyone any idea of the price of the photo CD on our 8 night cruise? Like I say, just trying to work out what I will need for spending money!!u mean photograph take on cruise, you can buy the package but it is expensive but worthing... around 100 dolllars ? or you mean buy CD from the cruise?[/COL

Mrsmac

No need for towels.

For the tips it works out to $36 per day per person http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/

I want to say the CD is $399 but not 100%, but it is in that range. I usually end up buying about 10 pictures and I think that is about $100, but you have 3 girls and I have only 1 that will get her pictures taken. I think I am in trouble for this trip though as the characters have all new outfits

Scottishwee35

here is the link to poohmomof5 trip report. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2502693 I really should not read it as it mades me sad that I am not able to take more than 8 works days in a row off. I need to look for a new job.

It is hot here, they are saying the Queen cut short her trip to New York yesterday and returned to England as it was too hot. It is 44 with the humidex today.

(2) I take it i need travel plugs that I would take to America but how many outlets are there in the room for all the chargers etc I need to bring??

The plug in the bathroom is only for a shaver. There are 2 plugs near the vanity area. I always pack a power strip because the plugs are hard to get to and there are not enough if you need to charge camera, video camera, ipod, etc. Plugs are US.

(3) Can someone remind me where I can find a web site that calculates the suggested tips for the cast members? I read it somewhere but now for the life of me cannot remember where! I am trying to sort out my budget before we travel! Tips are $12 per person per day.
