July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

:wave2: Good Morning All :wave2:
I am down to less than 3 before we leave for GB! ::yes::

That is soon:thumbsup2 so how much luggage are you taking for that long of a trip and the size of your family. I keep throwing stuff in a suitecase that will need to go and I am thinking it is filling up fast.

Docs came today!! I am not sure why that is so exciting, I could see it all online ... But it was fun!

We are 2 adults and we are aiming for 1 carry on for each of us and one extra bag for the way home! Not sure if we can fit in that few bags or not :confused3

4 or 5 bags

4 or 5 bags

I'm thinking 4 or 5 bags too!!! My 10 year old and I each have a generous sized pull along suitcase - not sure how she will manage it but will have to I guess!!! Thankfully she's pretty strong (I hope). The 5 year olds each have a Trunki which they don't know about yet - but they will have to pull it along, and I will also have a piece of hand luggage, probably a rucksack ............. how we are going to manage I have no real idea, just praying it all goes smoothly! What I am more worried about is will everything fit into the 2 suitcases - like mkmommy I have been throwing stuff into them and they are filling up real quick!!

Oh, but I AM GETTING EXCITED. No docs for us yet. We book through IGLU and I rang them to be told I might not receive anything until 10 days before we travel ......WHATS GOING ON THERE

We will have to suitcases, two carry on sized mini cases with wheels and DD will have her trunki. We could probably have managed with less but as we have formal wear to fit in and are still umming and ahhing over the add on cruise plus the FE stuff we will go with 2 large, 2 carry on and 1 trunki.

We Usually only take 3 bags but will be gone for 25 days!:scared1: We buy 32 Inch rolling duffles, we find that when fully packed they weigh in between 45 & 50 pounds!:thumbsup2

Rick Steves (American travel guide TV show) approved pack light method!:thumbsup2

Anyone hear who will be the cruise director? I know Brent is on the Magic now but it must be almost time for vacation. Hoping it is Clayton, the girls would love his "I'm on vacation dance'.

The girls have always had Christiaan as the CD and will really miss him. We were looking at pictures yesterday of the last cruise and my daughter was saying Christiaan was everywhere, she played stackit in the kids club with him, did cartwheels with him outside Route 66 and played pool with him at the games pavillion on Castaway Cay, he was everywhere.

I like Christian as well!:thumbsup2, but I am sure whoever is on board will be fine!

For two adults we are taking two rolling bags and a small carry-on each. Trying to keep it light for the train travel!!!

ScubaMickey

OK -- I am not a "light" packer -- Dylan and I will probably check 4 bags and then each have a carry-on!! I am going to try for three bags but it is doubtful!!

Sheryl

On our return..we are aiming for 4 checked bags ( under or equal to 18kg each:scared1:)...and a piece of handluggage each. Actually, strike the 'aiming' thats what we HAVE to have :) We bought some super light cases earlier this year, just to help us a bit. I have a fantastic set of hard luggage, but the big one weights 7kg empy :confused3

Being really organised...only ,strictly, taking enough clothes for a week. with maybe an extra pair of pants...just in case:). we also have largly 'disposable' underwear...so that can be binned before we fly back.
should be fun:laughing:

Planning to wash everything we will need for Spain before we get off the boat.:laundy: Never can get away from it...even on Holiday:guilty:

We always had Brent, but indeed, whoever is the CD it's gonna be fun!
We have the hottest day of the year right now: 32°C (don't know how much it is in Farenheit) Last week on sunday we only had 14°C...:sunny:

I just heard from someone who did the first Baltic that there we're only 1700 passengers on board, and it seems there is one to come with only 800 passengers....

Well the opening prices on the Baltic put them way out of our reach with the house rennovation we had \ still have going on, also the only date we could make would have been possibly the last one and that would have been difficult so the cat 12 rates which made them a little more reasonable were no use to us.

i hope if they repeat the Baltic trips in 2012 they are more sensibly priced...

PS we had Brent last time and i am not sure who on the Wonder in 2004 - looking forward to the trip whoever is the CD though!

Only 800 passengers on a summer cruise:scared1::eek:

I imagine it is one of the remaining Baltic Cruises, not good for DCL and those of ys who would like to do the Baltics on DCL in the future.

Hi

Can you add us to the list of those going of this trip. Booked it 12 days ago and have just been booking everything else that goes with it. Return flights, insurance, hotels, etc, etc, etc, phew.

We are staying 2 nights in London traveling down on the train from Scotland, then 1 night in barcelona before flying home.

Only thing we dont have yet is passports but they are on the way we hope:eek:

This will be our first major trip for a couple of years, we are big Disney fans and have done Orlando, California and Paris but never DCL and it has been something that we have wanted to do for some time.

Gong on this Weir family cruise is

Me
DW
DS 11
DD 15

Was a bit concerned that at 15years old there may not be anyone for DD to make friends with but seems from this thread there are a number in that age group so that makes me feel a bit better.

Reading through all the things to do, dinner reservations, rotations, excursions, seating times etc has my head thumping still we will figure it out.

Reminds me of our first trip to WDW in that everything was new and confusing and of course exciting.

Cant wait:)

I have a hard time believing there is a cruise with only 800 passengers :confused3 but if there was I would think it would be the current one not the next one or the last one ?
