July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

i hope so it's just a short cruise for my sons 14th birthday and he's looking fwd to it, he knows that the ship has a ice rink and a ben n jerrys and a johnny rockets so he's fairly excited about those, the ship seems huge and i'm scared a little about finding our way around, it will probably be a case of by the time we get our bearings it'll be time to get off

my husband is of irish ancestry so it will be nice to visit the emerald isle with our children :)
You should enjoy, Johnny Rocket's is great, my son had fun skating (As he plays hockey) Ben & Jerry's is nice though the portions are a little small! Dont forget the flow rider!:thumbsup2 Oh & if you wish try the super club it was Emerald on the Liberty (Very Nice!)

Hope you are not to far from the elevators as it is a BIG SHIP!:scared1:

I got a letter from DCL via FedEx today welcoming me back onboard for our cruise and giving me the dates for booking Palo and excursions online.

Fed Ex tried to deliver something to us the other day. We weren't in so the guy used our garden as a toilet unaware we had CCTV!::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: DH has to collect it from their office. Needless to say he will be pointing out their employee's inappropriate behaviour! Gross!

Yay! Told you it was stealthy~! Cant wait!!!!

DD spoke to Fed Ex today. Very appologetic and will be speaking to their courier who is apparantly an agency driver! They will not employ him any further and will write us a letter of appology too! It is gorss and just bad maners!

I wish DCL would hurry up with the shore excursions for Cherbourg and Vigo! I need to consider out options soon!

eeek 22 weeks is it really that close? i must take my diet a little more seriously, i was doing really well until half term and then all good intentions went out of the window :bitelip: it doesn't help that the shops are full of easter eggs and other choccie goodies
i need a lot of willpower to get past those eggs and all the little extras, those malteser bunny's look very tempting, so far i have resisted but it's hard especially when every other ad break on tv is for easter choccie

is anyone else hoping to lose a few pounds before the cruise?

2009 was my weight loss year - I lost 2 and a half stone. I would like to lose another 8lbs before the cruise but at the moment I am hopelessly off the dieting wagon! When it is a bit warmer it will be easier I hope!

I can't stand the whole aisles full of Easter Eggs that appear after Christmas, it is crazy! When we got back from our cruise in August I went to the local shop for a few bits and they had the Advent Calendars out in August!

It's just nuts and it really sucks if you are dieting

Mel 2009 was my weight loss year too, i lost 3 stones (42lbs for our american friends) between sept 08 and sept 09 but i really could do with losing another stone especially when i think about all that food on offer on the ship, i just know i will over induldge onboard so it would be nice to start off the holiday in the best shape i can be, well that's the plan? :rolleyes1

it doesn't help having a super fit super slim dh who can eat what he likes and never gains a ounce in weight, it's so unfair :sad2:

That is great going. 22 weeks (well 21 and a half) is plenty of time to lose some more. I know what you mean about having lost a little more so you can afford to put some back on.

I was amazed as we went to Florida last summer and stayed 17 nights including a 7 night cruise. I ate what I wanted, I didn't go mad but if i wanted a Mickey bar I had one, never skipped dessert on the cruise and sometimes had two. When I came home I had put on 3 and a half pounds and I lost them all within two weeks of getting back.

I am slowly climbing back onboard the diet wagon making a hundred excuses along the way to start again "next week!" but I will be at my goal before we wave goodbye to the White Cliffs of Dover!

Good luck with your diet - you could lose a stone - one and a half pounds a week. Keep me posted on here and we can be each others diet cheer leader!

Hi Mel

Oh my god only 22 weeks to go now:scared1:

I joined the WW last months and lost 7 lbs but put on 1lbs last week as my birthday and too many champagne at Gleneagle:sad2:

I find harder this week as I went to Aberdeen's to see my family for organised the wedding for May... I was not drinking at all as I was driving all weekend... but ate wrong foods again...

I try my best this week... and thinking go to swimming more often

Warning : about Disney Cruise - there were too many good foods, plenty choice... On Panama Canal Cruise, evening meals - I get 4 or 5 deserts as I only taste all not ate all of them lol...:scared1: I was lucky my serve Alex, he was brilliant as I enjoyed the meals on the cruise... think I bring loose clothes for end of week??? :yay::rolleyes1

Good Afternoon:

Major story today in the US about the cruise ship that was hit by huge waves, 27 feet tall, off of Spain. Terrible!!! Sad for the families that lost a loved one and for the passengers that were injured.

To our European Cruisemates, since you are geographically closer to the story, are you receiving/hearing more details on the event?

We sailed with Disney to the Med in 2007 and enjoyed flat and I mean flat seas for the entire 10 days. I hope the rough seas are a winter time problem.

The coast of France, Spain and Portugal have been hit with a severe storm recently. These waves could be the tail end of that storm as it passed across the Med. It is a large sea and can be quite rough. It was when we sailed in 2007 and this was the last sea day back to Barcelona. There is a wind/weather front called the Mistral which can affect the French coast too. This boat was nearer to Marseille so it could have been a combination of effects. As with everything it is freak accident and is sad for those involved. The Med is traditionally a 'mill pond' for most of the year.
