July 28, 2012- MAGIC- NYC TO BAHAMAS

Have been planning this cruise since last year - flights booked in November - we are flying from the UK!! Spending a few days in Chicargo, then taking the Amtrack to New York, spending 5 nights in New York and then getting the cruise! We are mega excited!

Me Lorraine 47 at time of cruise
DH Giles 44 at time of cruise
DS Ryan 18 at time of cruise

No chance of us cancelling - we have booked all the arrangements around this.

Cant wait

Lorraine

Sounds like you have planned one amazing trip!!! How long total?? 3 weeks? Have a safe trip!

Booked my dining reservations for Disney yesterday (for the park day). Less than 6 months.. woo woo..

I also started to shop for supplies for my fish extender. Had a hard time finding a Disney print I liked... lots of Princess and Cars theme fabric. I did find a nice red, white and black circle print that I thought was Disney-esque.
Found it in the clearance section of Walmart fabric for $2 a yard. I may have enough for two backgrounds...if anyone is interested PM me and I will send.

So is someone running the fish extender thing...First cruise ever but heard about fish extenders and how aweseome they are esp for my 3 kids..

Let the thread know who is running it and what we need to do - Thanks

I have no problem organizing the FE exchange, but my plans are not 100% still and I have never done this before.

If anyone rather do it... more than welcome. If there are no takers, I will post something to the thread once everything is solidified on my end.

So we are coming from upstate NY...near Saratoga! Bringing our 13year old twin boys, but they don't know yet! Thought this cruise was a bit expensive...this is our 2nd Disney cruise; knowing Disney, it will be worth it!

Looking through the thread, it appears many are rebooking on different dates.

I am still booked and can't wait!!

Too Excited!

First Cruise Ever.

wondering about the port adventures and if it is worth it to pay for the WDW tour w/fast pass etc. Are there any advantages - really?

Thanks and counting the days....

You will have a blast!!! This will be my third cruise, but first Disney cruise.

What is this tour you are talking about?? I have not heard about that before?!

Only you can judge if it will be worth it for you or not. This will be my third trip in 3 years to the House of Mouse. If we don't get to see everything (which we know we won't) then no big deal. We did it all last year. Will try to hit the major rides.

On a side note, I read somewhere that the fast pass rules will be changing in March (?). The time window will actually be enforced!!!!

Here are the highlights from the website- It is $300. a person and we are debating on it heavily. I have not been to the park in years.
They have a few WDW Port Adventures on this cruise.

Best of Walt Disney Resort for Young Families – A VIP Tour

Be escorted off the ship with your passports and pass through the Customs and Border Protection Inspection at the terminal.
Board an air-conditioned Disney Cruise Line motor coach and travel approximately 70 minutes to Magic Kingdom theme park, the starting point of your fun family adventure!
Meet your Walt Disney World VIP Tour Guide as you disembark your bus and head into the park to explore some of the most beloved attractions, including The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, "it's a small world", Mickey's PhilharMagic and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
Follow your Guide using FASTPASS entrances at available attractions and maximize your day!
Say farewell to your VIP Tour Guide and choose to continue exploring Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park on your own, "hop" to another park or head back to the ship.

Wow!!!! That is a lot of money!!! August 2 the parks are probably going to be crowded and it will definitely be hot. You won't have to run for fast passes or stand in the long lines of splash or space mountain. If you are not big thrill seekers (aka roller coaster junkies) I would not pay that amount of money to get onto its a small world or Dumbo.. but that is just my opinion.

I haven't checked the port adventures recently, I know last time I did check there was nothing for Port Canaveral . (booked early) gonna have to revisit that area... :)

FYI I believe that you are expected to tip the VIP guide in addition to the cost pp.

First Time Cruisers - can't with till July. Also looking to join in on the fish extender party!!

Were on board with a party of four! NYC to Nassau can't wait. Hoping to meet others and learn more about DCL before we go. Got 2 tween-teen girls who just can't wait to get going.:cheer2:

We'll be your first fish friends! We are first timers also, have a fish extender picked out just need to learn more about.

Welcome!!!! Hopefully more people will be joining this thread. I have been booked since April of last year.. very antsy!

There is a sign up sheet already started for the fish extender exchange for the sailing. Just make sure to sign up by June 15.

This is still a very quiet thread. Where are all the people going on this cruise or are we going to have the ship all to ourselves. Saw the fantasy come in yesterday- she is a beautiful ship but I think I still like the Magic and the Wonder- they are just the right size.

Lets hope more sign on the thread especially for the FE exchange.

I am thinking about the fish extender. Any rules set out yet? Would we be doing gifts for each family/family member each day or would we be assigned a day to distribute all our gifts. I am a 2nd time cruiser but did not do the fish extender last time. Perhaps, we could all be assigned 1 day to distribute to all and then another day to give all 1 family gift. This may work, I know there are lots of options out there. I have not officially signed up but I think it could be fun. My 13 year olds are psyched about the trip but this could help them more involved with the planning. Tell me if I missed a rules list, I will look back through the thread! Oh, and I got some paperwork today!!!! Always exciting, I can start booking some stuff for the cruise on 4/29. Can't wait!
