July 28, 2012- MAGIC- NYC TO BAHAMAS

this cruise doesn't seem too full right now - seems like there is availability from cat 11 inside all the way to 1 BR concierge ...

Depending on DCL plans for the Mediterranean for summer of 2013 and it's pricing, we may or may not keep this sailing ..

The Christmas surprise went good. My husband and I made a video- a little corny but cute- and we played it after they opened some gifts that we gave them- all Disney stuff. They were very excited and July is going to be a long wait for them.

Glad they liked it ~ luckily they only have 7 months to wait...it's hard for me too :)

I imagine a large proportion of guests will be from the general tri-state area.

We are originally from Staten Island, now in central CT.

Looking forward to not have to fly down the night before the cruise like we usually do :)

Less than 200 days!!!

We are also from central CT and it will be my husband and myself and our two daughters and three grandchildren- ages 10, 7, 6

It will be my wife and I and our three children who at time of sailing - DD 12, DD 10 and DS 6

Our two granddaughters will be 10 and 7 and our grandson will be 6.It will be thieir first cruise

Coming from Central NJ. Love the not needing to fly aspect for many reasons, including the cost of airfare, the baggage issues flying causes, duty free liquor etc etc etc.
My party will be my parents (not allowed to post their ages!) their 3 grandkids DGD 9, DGS 7, DGS 4 (Disney Grand Daughter/Son) Might have just made that up. And I'm the Aunt. Should be a good time. Still not 100% in, but more like 90% good.

On a side note: The 180 mark to make any dining reservations at a Disney Restaurant is approaching quickly. (20 days out!) I got the email re: transfer from PC to the parks. There was no info on returning to the ship though. Has anyone heard anything??

Also, I know that on cruises of 7 nights there was a character breakfast on the ship. Wasn't sure if this would apply to our cruise as it is 8 nights.

I called DCL about both those questions and there was no info available. Wasn't sure if anyone here may have found something.

Thanks

We cancelled this date. Booked an 8-day on another cruise line for 45% of the cost. Just could not justify this one. We rebooked an 8-day with DCL in December 2013 for half the cost of 7/28/12. Have fun, everyone!

we actually have 2 deposits, this cruise and aug 25th on the Fantasy.

On wednesday the Wonder and Magic itineraries for 2013 should be announced. It is possible we may move the deposit for this cruise to a date in 2013.

I never thought of pin trading on the ship. Nice idea!
I have 3 kids in my party. niece 9, nephews 7 and 4.
Anyone know if there is a "Disney" abbreviation for niece and nephew?!

For those of you with kids - will you be having them in the ocenaear lab? wondering how those areas are? any advice? any things to avoid?

This will be my first Disney Cruise. Two of the three kids in my party were on another cruise with me. Most of the time, they just stayed w/ the family and did not go to the kid areas. They were a bit younger though. I will definitely give the kids the option, but I think they will definitely be happy swimming in the pool on sea days.

Actually the kids don't even know about the cruise yet!!! The 7yo is a nervous nelly type. I have a feeling he will flip out after seeing the Costa Concordia on the news....

My kids saw the news and were talking about it yesterday. THey did not seem too freaked out...My youngest said - its like having a car get into an accident. I think I am more scared than they are...

Dont think my kids would be going in the kids area much but I hear there are special classes that seem fun for them..I think parents can stay too.

Have been planning this cruise since last year - flights booked in November - we are flying from the UK!! Spending a few days in Chicargo, then taking the Amtrack to New York, spending 5 nights in New York and then getting the cruise! We are mega excited!

Me Lorraine 47 at time of cruise
DH Giles 44 at time of cruise
DS Ryan 18 at time of cruise

No chance of us cancelling - we have booked all the arrangements around this.

Cant wait

Lorraine

Moving this cruise to a 2013 Mediterranean ... have a great cruise

Anyone on this cruise interested in the Roy suite, it should be available sometime today
