Well, I will book a room and stay over b/c I'm sure we'll be tired after traveling.....so, if it's okay with everyone, let's do dinner? That way, we should be on time for the show and not have to get up so early.

Ok, back to you, Julie.......you're in charge of location!

Dinner is fine with me -- and I think Helen and Dave would love to see Tavern on the Green -- maybe even followed by a carriage ride through Central Park at night with the lights of the city twlnkling around . . . and of course they have steak -- Helen, look at the menu here and let me know what you think:

It's not inexpensive, but quite a spectacular place to eat . . . there is a pre-theatre dinner menu that we could get if we got there before 6:30 (which I think we could) but no steak on that one . . . anyway, the link to the menus is at the top.

It looks like dinner is good with all of us. We'll leave it in your capable hands, Julie. Whatever time you can get is fine. Wow, it's almost here. It seems like it was such a long time ago that we started planning this...............

Did we finally decide just to meet at Wicked and then eat an early dinner at Tavern on the Green afterwards????? I thought I remembered that some people thought it might be too hard to get into the city for lunch . . . everyone refresh my memory on our plans and I will make reservations at Tavern.

I have a table for 7 reserved at Tavern on the Green for 6 PM on Sunday the 26th. Wicked should be over about 5:30, and we could either walk to Tavern (about 20 blocks, doable but it might be hot) or take two taxis. Either way it should be quite possible to be there for 6. You can go on their website and look at the pretheatre menu, or you could also just order off the regular a la carte menu. Afterwards, horse and carriage rides through the park are nice if anyone wants to! They are always waiting right outside the restaurant.

Let me know if this doesn't work for any of you and I can always cancel!

I will miss seeing you on the Med, Helen, and I am also doing Alaska, but the week AFTER you (August 23) so we are destined not to cruise together, it seems.

Quick update.......Ken had an emergency appendectomy today, he seems to be doing well, I'll update tomorrow.....

I have no idea about the new itineraries, we didn't book.....

We're working on a Greek cruise for next summer and then maybe the Med in 2011 and also a short Dreams cruise as well...

I did not know about new itineries - booking is only open to gold and plat cc members

Dave has always wanted to Alaska - hes now going to buy the full box set of Northern Exposure to watch in the run up.

I transferred our on board booking so got 10% off price and got $275 OBC although they called it an amenity pack?

Cruising updates.......we will be celebrating our 30th on a HAL cruise to Greece originating from Venice.....it's a 7 day trip but we will arrive on 7/5 and depart on 7/15, the actually anniversary is 7/11........we are Wondering on 8/3 for a 5 day with possibly 2 DDs........then our Alaska trip is on 7/19 in 2011..........

Ken and I sailed on our first cruise in 1983 to Bermuda, it was a second major trip and it was on HAL. So since it's just us, this is what we planned.....we are departing from Venice on an inaugural cruise on a new ship, so wish us luck with that!


Julie & Maryann, please let me know when we can meet in December, I'm thinking the first or second weekend if that works for you........then we can see who can join us......maybe HaroleAnn will come up for a visit!!!

What are your ports of call. Many years ago I visited Rhodes.

There's a chance that I may not be around the first weekend in December, and I won't know for sure until the middle of November . . . the second weekend would work for me . . .
