Hello Everyone........
My son(who will be 12 by next summer) and i are joining you on the 28th of July.

I have just booked it and requested the same cabin that i stayed in on the 3 night wonder and was told through TA that "unfortunatly they told me that you can request a room but it is not guaranteed on this*specific type*of cruise".* ??
is this right as i see a lot of you already know your room number?

anyway, except for that, I can't wait .
I think you have a GTY Guaranteed caergory room, that means DCL will allocate the room nearer the time, say about 4/6 weeks out, and you will get that Cat or better.

Many people book and then for any reason have to pull out, DCL keep statistics on this and then, working on an average fall out rate know they will be able to accomdate you, on the cruise, but leave the actual stateroom number until the time everyone has piad up.

For my 14 day Panama cruise, I had a stateroom number, but upgraded and went to a Cat 4 GTY, it was allocated soon after final pay up time, and on all of my tickets etc it showed the allocated room which was very good.

You would check DCL website and at some point notice it change from GTY to a number, it means the ship is filling up, maybe just at your Cat or overall.

Hello all, that for the info. My TA siad the boat was already 75% full!!!!. the price for the cabin has already gone up $300 from last week. Silly isn't it but having stayed in one room and really liked it, i hope we get the same, but regardless, sure it will be amazing!
Thanks for your lovely welcomes......

Welcome Ruth and to your son as well. I know this time will be flying by. I will be anxious to see how you compare the Magic to the Wonder. We prefer the Magic, but we have had more memories on the Magic! Right now I would be happy to be relaxing on either one--have spent a lot of time in the hospital with my DD, but he will be good as new and in ready for the Mediterrean. :thumbsup2

Welcome you really will enjoy this one, I thought it was filling up and thans from people in the know, and this site, little advertising, none in the UK.

I seem to be going down the corridor on mine, a full circle of Cat 4 rooms, from 2005 via 2006 and onto 2007, I have gone next door on each one, one down each year, on the starboard side, so by the year 2089 would have done them all! ( did one in 2002 port side)

Booked my Barcelona holtel today for the pre cruise bit so happy, just little bits to finish of now transfers etc.

Hi
Pixie dust, i hope you DD is ok now?,

Thanks for the reassurrance Andrew, i'm sure we will love it- i think you flew out on Virgin the day before we did this summer( must of been the 12 of Aug?) as remember there being email from you at the airport- very delayed?!. We ended up being 5 hours delayed and am so happy to just have a 2 hour flight next year but will miss some of Orlando delights!

For those having problems booking hotels try the following links, one thing from my checking I noted many hotels haven't released their 2007 rooms and prices as yet, so that might be why you cannot get availability, from contacting some hotel chains it appeared late October is when they planned to release there summer 2007 dates. However try these I have booked now.

Thank you, so many people from the USA have helped me on DCL cruises, its nice now its in our area we can help back a little!

Just bumping us up.

I did a search for this page July 28 - and two other threads came up. I should have just searched by page instead of going to my old mail. I think someone else is cruising with us (saw them on another thread). I told the poster to come and join us - don't know how to link this there. Perhaps he will see us on page one :goodvibes

Hi all,

Sorry its been so long since I posted on this thread. Most of you seem really organised regarding excursions, flights hotels etc. Up to today I have been an avid watcher.

Well this morning I have actually booked my flights :goodvibes . I have been looking around for ages and I know easy jet and a few other low cost fly from North east to Barcelona - but Ive heard to many horror stories from friends. That I have decided to book BA

We fly out on 24th July and back on the 9th Aug. It has cost £346 for the two of us. That gives us 23kg of luggage each - but I am looking into buying extra weight (for my shoes lol)

As far as hotels go - I think I know which one I want to stay at - so I am going to compare prices. I really like the look of Hotel 1898 or Hotel Cram - do a search as see what you think of them.

As far as excursions - I am still having weekly physio for my back and I think I am going to wait to see what Disney offer. By then I should no what Im up to. I can't see myself getting to Rome as I couldn't stand sitting on a coach for a long time.

Oh well at least I know Im getting to Barcelona

Take care
H x :wave2:

I opted for BA as well going to Barcelona a week in advance and flying back the same day as the end of the cruise.

Okay, at this point I don't even remember if we posted on here before. We are booked, have been for a while, and starting now to figure on air trip. I have a lot of points that I can use on AMX, but, it seems that almost every airline leaves Barcelona around 9:30 am to catch a US flight around 12 or 1. We really don't want to stay over another day. What's peoples' experience so far?
Also, with out looking at all the posts, are there excursions listed here?
I did see the thing about hotels. I'm just thinking about having the cruise travel agent do that part.
Ok, last question, for now. What have peopel done for transportation between airport/hotel/ship/airport?
See you later.

Hello to all, thx again to Andrew for the great links..............I have just 20 days to get our passports (self-imposed deadline!)

I think DCL recommends booking flights home 10:30 am on. We have an 11:10 am flight booked.

We have also booked transfers with DCL from airport to ship and ship to airport.

Anna, what airline? I can't find anything past 9:45. I assume you are flying into NYC. I would't mind another transfer if we can get home the same day.

We are flying with AnnaS on the same flight. It's Contintental out of Newark-nonstop.

Hi all :goodvibes

I have booked my accomodation today so im quite excited

We are staying @ Hotel Cram before the cruise and we got a superior double room.

Then for 1 night after, we are stopping @ the AC Barcelona. :goodvibes

For both we've booked direct with the hotels and got good deals.

Incidently, I phoned DVC and asked them to price the AC Barcelona and it was virtually double what I have paid!!!
