Hi everyone. Remember me?

It turns out we WILL be able to go on the cruise. I'm so happy!

Now I have to skim the thread to see what I've missed in the past few weeks. Welcome aboard salliep. :)

Welcome back MJ, welcome sallie!! I have been reading my Passporter book and I highly recommend it! The authors did a similiar cruise to check out the ports and excursions so the book is very helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thx to all for the well-wishes..........so grateful that we have this trip to look forward to this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lo

HI all!
I need to make a few more posts so I can PM. All these abbreviations are killing me.....I was soooo happy to find a thread that lists the abbreviations and the meanings.

Carley (DD) already has two girls to email to!!! She is just as thrilled as I am- thanks !!:cloud9:

Since I'm walking the plank anyway.. more concerns.......

* packing... I tend to overdo it, but with the night in Paris and Barcelona- I think the luggage maneuvering is going to be a pain in the neck!:sad2:
* choosing the shore excursions- uggggggg::confused3
* looking at the bank account after the final payment :scared1:
I know -I know.. get the blindfold pirate:

Hi Sallie,
I know what you mean about packing - if you look at my tag - I do honestly try to pack light- but it doesn't seem to work ;)

From reading about the excursions I am going to get a light cotton gypsy skirt I think and take a shawl / wrap for covering shoulders. I can then wear my t shirts as normal.

We are luckly we booked through DVC 1 person using points and the other we had to pay the full amount cash when we booked - a year ago so we felt the pinch of this trip last year.

I am starting to get very excited!

Hey Mary JO - we are soooo pleased you can come after all :cool1:

Andrew I recognise the med packet photo - although mine now has a lot more creases in it. What is the other photo from? I guess something to do with DLP?

Have a wonderful mothers day all

xx:goodvibes

Welcome to those that will be joining us.

I have good news! On Friday the boys passports arrived. I was so happy that they got here. I think I finally slept a while night through. Or maybe it was the Nyquill?

Cool pictured Andrew.

The vacation is coming up so quickly. It'll be here before we know it. :cool1:

That is great news! My ds & dd still need to get theirs. I guess some mom nagging is in store. ::::sigh::::

We're planning on going to Paris first, then Barcelona, so I have to pack lightly - sort of. ;)

That sounds like a good plan. I'll have to wear something light that I can mix & match, too.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave & Jennifer who wrote the Passporter. I have the DL & WDW, but not the cruise one. Hmmm, it's a thought!

We are in the late seating (figuring we will be out a lot with all the stops) I hope I didn’t make a mistake with that one- please advise. Ok- now I have another worry.. Did I make the right dinner choice? I remember when we took the DCL when Carley was 7, we had the early seating, but she was young then. But I vaguely remember thinking the shows were during that time??
We're sitting in the late sitting, too. I've already made plans to sit with two other Dreams Unlimited agents who are going, but we'll be at the same shows, etc. Hopefully our tables will be near each other. You can always order a little snack from room service if you think that it is going to be too long a wait for the 2nd seating.

List of other concerns:
* will I have time to enjoy the boat?
* will we be too tired after each day to even enjoy the ship and the next day excursions
* we only speak english
* euros!!!!!!! uggggg!!!!!!
* I think so. We have three full days at sea, so I think there will be time to explore the boat & have fun.
* There's always naps. :) I have found that even a 1/2 hour rest will give me energy to stay up some more.
* Like Andrew said, a lot of the stops deal with tons of tourists, so we should be able to make it w/little-no trouble
* my answer -- ATM ;)

want to throw an idea out - we're considering doing the Exclusive VIP tour of Vatican and Sistene Chapel - however there are other places in Rome that I'd like to take pics of but will be impossible to view. How about we take a poll to find out who's doing what and not. Reason - I'd be interested in getting copies of pictures of places that I may not see. In the meantime, I'd recipercate with photos of the Vatican should I be so lucky to get in there.
Great idea. I know that we cannot do everything. The two things that we want to do in Rome is the Vatican and the Coliseum. I'm not sure yet how we'll accomplish that.

anyone else stopping in Paris??
We're planning on being in Paris July 22-25, and then taking the train to Barcelona.

Hey all! Thx for your kind words! Ken's father had cancer since June and he was suffering so he's in a better place! It just makes you appreciate how fortunate we are to be healthy and sailing in the Med this summer
I'm so sorry to read about your FIL. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. He found out 8/26/05, and we lost him 11/26/05, so I can relate.

Well, we won't dress up for pirate night, but I will talk like a pirate during dinner, if that be a help. Arggh.
So, does that mean that there WILL be a pirate night on the cruise? There's so much pirate stuff at Disneyland I'm tempted to bring something, but not sure what there'll be on each night.

Just checking in and wanted to thank you all for your well wishes. I got out of hospital yesterday and am now at home, very tired and sore.
Hope you feel much better soon.

Hi Anna and Everyone,
Thanks for the welcomes!....
So happy to hear about your daughter. We are in the late seating (figuring we will be out a lot with all the stops) I hope I didn’t make a mistake with that one- please advise-
My godmother and cousins live right near the Staten Island Mall off Drumgoule (sp?)- Are you near there?? We are in Garden City on Long Island.
I would love to sit with people we know for dinner- that was going to be my next post- to see if there are any others traveling alone.
Ok- now I have another worry.. Did I make the right dinner choice? I remember when we took the DCL when Carley was 7, we had the early seating, but she was young then. But I vaguely remember thinking the shows were during that time?? I can’t remember.. Well, that’s nothing new, the eyes, the body, the sinking face.. now the memory uggggg!!!
:dance3:

Sallie we are about 10-15 minutes away from the Mall and the street name definitely sounds familiar. We always book early seating (I was tempted to book late for this one) since we know it is much easier to switch to late then the other way around. Early always fills up first. It might be best for the Med. cruise to have late seating. It's really a personal preference/choice and might be determined by your family's eating habits. What works for one, might not work for the other.

There is another family (besides Disneymagic316 and her parents) from Staten Ilsand on this cruise - but I have not seen her post in a while (as many others).

MaryJo - welcome back - glad you can make it!

Aurora - glad to hear your passports arrived - that is definitely a relief.

I would love to know how to do the multiple quote thinghy

Okay - getting sick of this ice here and cold weather:mad:

RuthB- We are so sorry for your loss.

salliep- Welcome! I have cousins who live in Garden City on Atlantic Blvd.

Using ( to represent [ and ) to represent ] >> To have a quote from someone type in (quote=name)The quoted text here(/quote) so you get:
name said:
The quoted text here

When I want to quote more than one person, I right-click on the reply button & choose "Open in New Window" - that way I have a reply window and the thread window both open at the same time, so I can then copy & paste the text and answer without getting too lost. When I hit the button to submit reply it automatically updates the thread. I delete my reply window & refresh the thread window to continue.

I hope that helps.

Yeah I made 1900 posts
nearly 2000!!!!

:dance3:

Hi Everyone, I think this will be my 7th post ,so I will be able to PM I hope.

Congrats Helen on almost hitting 2,000:thumbsup2 - there should be some kind of a gift when you reach a certain amount of posts (500, 1,000, 1,500 etc)! I teach too- 1st grade- what grade do you teach? I would love to compare our education systems if we ever have time to relax and talk and meet up on the ship.

Mary Jo- I hope we are sitting close also, even though we've never met, I kind of feel I know you all a little already. I am hoping by the time the cruise comes around, I will get lucky and be able to sit with people I have come to know over the net! :hourglass

Wendy, I'm not sure where Atlantic Ave. is in Garden City ( are they near the mall? ) If you are familiar with Garden City, I am right across the street from the country club west of Nassau Blvd. If you plan on visiting your cousins, please ,please stop by, I would love to meet before the trip- My house is always messy, so you can stop by anytime... do you have any kids going? Thanks to this site, my daughter will already have a few friends to hang out with a little. Are you close to my cousins in Staten Island?

Oh well, I was called for jury duty tomorrow and I have to write out some lesson plans for the sub:teacher:

Is there a thread about prefrences to early and late dining seatings??? I searched, but nothing came up
