Hi all,
Just checking in and wanted to thank you all for your well wishes. I got out of hospital yesterday and am now at home, very tired and sore.

However I got a lovely treat in the post today. I recieved my med package (in UK) so its now on my bedside willing me to get better.

Take care
H x

Helen,

A little late - glad to hear you are home. A speedy recovery to you.

Hey all! Thx for your kind words! Ken's father had cancer since June and he was suffering so he's in a better place! It just makes you appreciate how fortunate we are to be healthy and sailing in the Med this summer!:hug:

Now lets look forward to a great weekend, been reading through the Med cruise packet, looking at options!

Have a good weekend all!

I'm sorry to hear that your father in law passed away.

And we will certainly pray for your father in law.

We lost my father in law suddenly 8 years ago, so i know how hard it is. And my own stepfather is battling prostate cancer. So far, he's winning.

Hi all!
I was so happy to find this forum. My husband, 12-year-old daughter, and I will also be on the Disney Mediterranean cruise on July 28th. I'm so happy to see so many people from Staten Island will be cruising... we have relatives there! I hope one of the many families going has a daughter close to our daughter age, since she will be stuck with just us. This trip was our gift to each other for our 25th wedding anniversary, and we are so excited! WE booked it a year ago, and the time went so fast, I can't believe its only a few months away!
We will be spending a night in Paris and a night in Barcelona before the ship sails, anyone else stopping in Paris??

:wave2: everyone - sorry to hear about jlawall'sFIL passing. Hope things start to look up soon. Sending you all :pixiedust and lots of symphaties.

OK all - here's my dilemna - finally got our shore excursions booklet and I want to do all the Vatican tours - as that is an impossibility - want to throw an idea out - we're considering doing the Exclusive VIP tour of Vatican and Sistene Chapel - however there are other places in Rome that I'd like to take pics of but will be impossible to view. How about we take a poll to find out who's doing what and not. Reason - I'd be interested in getting copies of pictures of places that I may not see. In the meantime, I'd recipercate with photos of the Vatican should I be so lucky to get in there. DH and I are considering taking our laptop which allows us to burn CD's and DVDs. If anyone out there is interested let me know either by pm or here on the board - that way we can see what our options are. Sound good - hope so - if this turns out ok then maybe we can see about doing something like this for the rest of ports.

Sorry if this is being repeated. Thanks all -

My daughter is 11 going on 12 so they should meet up.

Hi Andrew!
Thanks for the welcome... you have no idea how much better I feel since I found this site. The only problem is - I haven't got a thing done around the house since I've been trying to read and catch up with the hundreds of posts! I couldn't wait until the weekend to really start reading- especially about the excursions and the pre and post stay hotel info.
I would love for the girls to get-together- I'm so worried that Carley will have no one to do all the fun things there are to so on the boat. She was 7 on our last Disney cruise, so we did everything with her, but I know she would like a little more freedom on this cruise (I stress the word "little”) Maybe they can email each other before we leave- Carley would love to have a pen pal (cyber pal????) from the UK.
I didn't get my Info Pac yet- Do you have to be paid in full to get it- we do not have to put the final payment in until next month.
Oh well, I will continue to read and take notes and hope more families with daughters our age check in! I remember that the excursions sold out very quickly on our last Disney cruise- I guess I should book them as soon as they are available?
Sallie
PS
List of other concerns:
* will I have time to enjoy the boat?
* will we be too tired after each day to even enjoy the ship and the next day excursions
* we only speak english
* euros!!!!!!! uggggg!!!!!!
enough for now... i'm sure you all want to throw me overboard by now!

Hi Sallie and Welcome.

We will also be celebrating our 25th on this cruise :goodvibes

My dd will be almost 15 when we cruise (we are traveling w/Disneymagic316). She is friendly/outgoing and has friends younger and older than her ;)

Will you be in early/late dining?

As of this time - I have my oldest son who might not be cruising with us :sad2: . I have already called DVC to see what my options are (one cabin cash and one on points) and Continental Airlines regarding cancellation policy. Either way, I will be out a few bucks if this happens.:guilty:

Alice loves penpals so PM me but she can be slow to respond, I have to nudge her!

Hi Anna and Everyone,
Thanks for the welcomes!....
So happy to hear about your daughter. We are in the late seating (figuring we will be out a lot with all the stops) I hope I didn’t make a mistake with that one- please advise-
My godmother and cousins live right near the Staten Island Mall off Drumgoule (sp?)- Are you near there?? We are in Garden City on Long Island.
I would love to sit with people we know for dinner- that was going to be my next post- to see if there are any others traveling alone.
Ok- now I have another worry.. Did I make the right dinner choice? I remember when we took the DCL when Carley was 7, we had the early seating, but she was young then. But I vaguely remember thinking the shows were during that time?? I can’t remember.. Well, that’s nothing new, the eyes, the body, the sinking face.. now the memory uggggg!!!
:dance3:

List of other concerns:
* will I have time to enjoy the boat?

Yes with three sea days you should be able to

* will we be too tired after each day to even enjoy the ship and the next day excursions

This one will be more active than other DCL cruises so part yes, when the ports are back to back with long days could be a problem for my kids.
* we only speak english
No problem most of Europe speaks it in the tourist areas.
* euros!!!!!!! uggggg!!!!!!
Well as we have the pound I have to agree again in part, but its not that bad really.
enough for now... i'm sure you all want to throw me overboard by now!

No walk the plank is on pirate night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(joke)

I sent you a PM with my DD's information. She said she would love a pen pal. My guess is that there will not be very many kids on this cruise....mostly adults...but not sure....
