Almost forgot ...

Good news! Our passports arrived Monday. I couldn't help but laugh to see that they had been shipped FedEx priority for Saturday delivery. But we weren't home. I guess "When it absolutely, positively must get there" the State Department doesn't trust their own USPS.

Four packages. I wonder how many tax dollars that cost us?

Our children's passports came last week also Fedex. I was very relieved!

Well, not sure in terms of tax dollars - since passports applications have their own fees attached that probably cover much if not all of the cost.

FedEx for the government won't cost what you and I would pay for it at Kinkos. In fact, the reason it's FedEx is probably because FedEx undercut USPS express on the contract - as an independent company, they can make individual deals and aren't obligated to follow standard/regulated rates.

They would definitely have to use USPS Express or a courier service for the tracking and guaranteed delivery.

It is nevetheless odd....

The important thing though is, you got the passports. With 3 weeks to go I'd have been in major panic mode.

When I showed these to the DW she rolled her eyes but seems up for it. I'm not usually into matching clothing but for this occassion it seemed appropriate.

.... so, um, you like baseball, huh?

Practically grew up on a baseball field as my Dad was a Little League coach, even took a team to the Little League World Series. My Mom and I never missed a game...guess it is in my blood!

Glad to hear Princess Jasmine is OK. My dog (Last) Chance just caught a chicken out of the bushes and .....well you know what dogs do to chickens. She's gone to bed too, she's worn out from running away from me while I chased her with the chicken in her mouth, very tiring for both of us. ahhhh , life in the caribbean .

That must have been a wild chase, Penny!

Where did you get the logo for the Tshirt. DH will NOT go for the lime green tshirt but I like the logo for our fish extender.

Just a short check in tonight.

I have had many family problems and most likely will not be able to post much before our trip. I will try and stop by when ever possible. I am hoping my family issues do not keep me from going on this trip. It has been a very difficult several weeks.

On Sunday I will post the final list for nametags.....I think I have everyone's except 4kittymagic from Las Vagas I am afraid I do not know you as I have not been around much. I will send you a PM

My DS17 and I are off to VA Tech Monday and Tuesday for freshman orientation.

I will have the nametags done this week and off to Jeanne.

I am bringing one family bag to the DISmeet from DC/VA.
