just sent you PM

Julie.. my iphone is your iphone!!!!

Wow -- I can't wait, Sallie! Muchos gracias, molto grazie, and merci beaucoup!

As for the kid gift bags, let me think about it -- I am running into packing issues, even with bringing very few and neutral clothes that can be mixed and matched . . . our baggage allowance to Paris and back after this cruise is fairly light, plus I have to bring fish extender presents for this cruise plus the repo one . . . but I know my youngest (and maybe my middle -- it's hard to tell these days if she is a child or a teen from moment to moment, as she turns 13 in October and is in that in-between stage) would love it. Let me think about this and get back with you.

Thank you for sharing. Anyone know any French or Italian sites? Will the Spanish be close enough for Barcelona??

Great way to start your weekend! Congratulations!

I think if we know a few spanish words, they could figure out what we are saying (I'm hoping). Just have the BBC sites for italian and french. Don't know any italian and DH&I only had High school french.

Good Morning-have A Great Saturday

I was a little disappointed that you didn't post how many days and then you did in a later post!!! Thank you Andrew!

I received it... still cannot send a pm... sent $8 for the two lanyards plus reels and it looks like it went through ok....

Where do we pick them up??

Thanks again

Jeff

Jeff,

We will pick them up at the Dis meet - 9:30 am Sunday on board at the Promenade Lounge.
Hey Isabel - I just did that today. I made the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE mistake of taking my DD's back to Marshall's to return my sherbert colored suitcases ( :sad1: ) well one of them anyway. So I returned and got back $225.00 dollars. What I got in return as I was making a last minute lap was a pair of Aerosoles heels that I just bought 12 days ago at $30. They were at another Marshalls for $22. A savings of $8 before taxes.

So what do oldest DD and I discuss? Buying this and returning the original still in their boxes - I do the same things - don't cut off the tags, take out of boxes until the morning of wearing (except for jeans - these go immediately into the washer). Anyway, so after we make sure that we have everything we want - I go and pay. As the cashier is ringing up the shoes - she has to open and check the sizes. Younger DD chimes up VERY LOUDLY -

"Why are you buying another pair - you already have those?"

I looked at her and said - "no I don't."

To which she replies again - yes you do - you bought them when I was with you at the other store for $30.

Then older DD chimes up with - "You must be mistaken April - you're wrong."

This of course starts up WWIII and meanwhile I'm ready to wring her little scrawny neck! This is me - :furious: Thinking - just wait until I get out to the car.

Morale of the story: Don't take Dudley Do-right with you when exchanging and or hedging your purchases.

(For those that don't know who Dudley Do-Right is - he is a cartoon character of the Royal Mounty Police who is a do-gooder who cannot live with injustice sometimes to the peril of those around him.

Oh And the worst part of the story? Those savings I got from returning items? DD's made me buy them these "Oh look mom - these will go perfect for the cruise and if we share the clothes we can get quadruple wear out of them."

:headache: :headache:

Its hard to argue with that. Oh and here's another theory that only a mom of similar siblings can relate too.

If an item cost $40 dollars but 2 people can get use out of them - its actually like paying only $20 for each as opposed to $40 for each. Does this make sense to anyone else? Or have I just been up too many late nights in a row?
Back to savings - the original $225 I got back? I spent $221. :sad2:

Second morale of the story - don't take girls shopping with you. You get nothing.

"The voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
--Marcel Proust

A wretched soul, bruised with adversity,
We bid be quiet when we hear it cry;
But were we burdened with like weight of pain,
As much or more we should ourselves complain.

William Shakespeare

Thank you Julie and Andrew. Yes, I would probably complain the loudest.:rotfl:

Good Morning Everyone
I was out all day yesterday standing on line with my brother for the new iphone! He was on line from 9-am, I joined him with a picnic lunch at 1pm- they opened the apple store at 6pm with a big fanfare. I have been playing with it for hours now- its unbelievable!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: I think it will come in very handy on the trip. I am going to download tv shows, and a few movies for the plane- and it has an unbelievable gps system... I will surly be able to fine any fountain within seconds!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Ok I m going back to check about a thousand posts and will reply to any I need to in the next hour or so!!!!

I missed you all so the past day and a half!!!! Now I will always be able to check in and keep up with my new toy!!!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congrats! Can't wait to see it next week! Glad it was worth the wait!

I am sorry to hear that, its just broken off here , and my son is in a wet field!

To make you feel better Andrew. Some of the best camping trips DS was on was in the rain!! I would feel so upset for him at home, but when he returned, he always had the best time. Can't figure kids out.

Maryann

As for the Spanish issue in Barcelona, yes, the Spanish we learn is Castilian, not Catalan, which is different. However, I don't believe anyone there is unable to speak or understand Castilian Spanish . . . until recently that was all that was taught and it was only fairly recently that a resurgence of regional pride led to children being taught Catalan again. The regions of Spain was very distinct and of course Spain was not united for most of its history. My oldest daughter recently came back from Andelucia (south of Spain) and said that the Spanish spoken there is different from that of Madrid.

Regardless, regular Spanish (Castilian) should be fine . . .

Well remember its four Saturdays now and we will be on the Magic at Barca.

I will be on the plane now in three Saturdays.

Europe apart from London is in the grip of a heatwave and there are fires around Athens at the moment Rome is very hot.

RE DS, I bet he loves it and will come back as a mud monster but will be off school with a cold Monday.

Hey all, Happy Saturday!! We are not doing the fish extender but we are doing the grab bags..................we are scheduled to meet at the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 at 9:30am........................on Sunday (our first sea day!)

Andrew, do you want to meet at checkin for the Palo brunch ressie? Would that work out best?.............We are going to try to check in at 12, but, of course, with traveling to an unfamiliar place, we could run into difficulties??..............Another time could be after the lifeboat drill? What do you think?

Wine tasting usually is booked at Guest Services b/c you pay and get tix there.

They are in tents in a field!!! It was well drained Friday night though.

I bet hes having the time of his life Andrew. I can see it now all those kids doing whatever activities are setup for them not even noticing the rain. I feel sorry for your DW and the washing machine though.

I remember one trip DS &DH were on. It rained so hard that one of the kids floated out of their tent on their air mattress and was still sound asleep! We still laugh about that one!!:lmao: :lmao:

Also, the wine tasting does sell out so I usually try to book my "tastings" early!:goodvibes

Must remember to put an old towel over my back car seats I would not want mud everywhere, they were to have some kind of street (field) party now.

I would think that would be dangerous. It's $600. and once she sees it she's going to want it. NOW! You're braver than I am. Or more generous. :lmao:

Sandra

If she can't have it, she can't have it, and she knows it! It won't be a problem with her. She will probably tell me I should have it, though (and I will feel the same, I am sure). I resisted getting a Blackberry for years because I wanted to see what apple could come up with, and now I'm forced to think about whether I really want to do it or not . . .

To be clearer..............I was planning on doing a family grab bag, not a kid grab bag as all my kids are pretty old.................:confused3

Thanks Joann, I'll make a note to do this as early as we can. I'm waiting for the next set of 11 day Navigators to come on line. I think that will give us a better indication of what DCL in case they made adjustments.
