When most of the civilized world thinks about Oklahoma the Broadway show or the movie often comes to mind. Well, I hate to admit it, but I, a native of the state, have never seen either (boo, hiss).

But I'm working on my shortcomings. In fact, tonight we're taking the girls to see the show, which is being staged by our very talented local theater company. For you that live near NYC, the star of the show is the talented Kelli O'Hara, who just finished The Pajama Game on Broadway with Harry Connick Jr.

Kelli is a grad of the school for which I work. We're having a reception for her here on campus tomorrow. So this will be a nice treat.

Now, let's sing ... O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A ...

There was a group of people leaving a local night club, a fight disagreement started, the brother of the man who was murdered was involved, so this man went back to help out his brother and was attacked.

No weapons at all, he was taken to hospital and died later, He was to get married later this year.

Why???

So sad, there is so much violence in the world - it is really sickening!

Just dont mentions M&S to me - I still haven't got all my money back they took out of my bank! I wrote to them Monday and added this paragraph that my brother who is a solicitor suggested..

I acknowledge the receipt of the cheque in the sum of £47on account of the sum outstanding. The sum now owing is £69. Unless we can resolve the matter amicably in 7 days, then I feel I have no alternative but to issue proceedings in Sunderland County Court for the sum due. Which will be served upon your registered office in due course.

We were living in Northern California (Silicon Valley area - not as close as Dan, but pretty close ) and the engineer dads were so bad about taking over the process of making the pinewood derby cars that we thought about having a parent race too - instead, most of us leaders had the boys make the cars during den meetings so that we could "supervise" any parental overinvolvement.

Shes usually very fast in getting back to me, I presume theres some instructions or conditions or something, I would have thought if it was 'no' they would have told me well before, holding on to 30 days, makes me feel that wanted to see if a VIP wanted it, if not well hopefully its ours...

That's one theory -- today was our first really hot day of the summer and obviously everyone was using A/C. However, I think I saw that there might have been a transformer fire. We were out from 79th to 112th and Fifth Avenue to the FDR drive. Fingers crossed that it doesn't go out again (although my girls found the elevator rescue rather exciting).
