Laura, you will meet Meredith and discover that she is far from shy! She does look quite a lot like I did as a little girl (there is a framed picture of me at about 6 here that everyone always thinks is a picture of her), but then again my oldest is a redhead and my middle is a blonde, so at some point I had to get a brunette.

Rock climbing was awesome. I did the easiest climb the first time (I think that's when that pic of me was taken), then worked on two harder ones. I'm not afraid of heights, but my upper body strength is apparently wimpy, since the muscles in my arms and hands would literally shake and tremble for quite a while afterwards -- it wasn't easy. It feels great to make it up to ring the bell, though, and then rappel down. The people holding your safety rope were really good to yell up suggestions when you would feel you were stuck (move the right foot up until you feel something!)since obviously you can't see your feet most of the time.

LOL - I also have a Redhead (true one at that - minus the dot-to-dot freckles), Megan was a blonde at birth to 5 but is now a brunette and April was almost a towhead but is now dishwater blonde so I have the prerequisites for a homemade bar joke. You know the kind - A blonde, a redhead and a brunette walk into a bar............:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

TRUE STORY: Do not attempt this - they will not find it funny.

One day we went to Friday's for lunch. DH dropped me off (DH is a blonde - was a towhead in childhoold) in front as the line was long. We could sit near the bar if we wanted to and be sat right away - since we were hungry I said yes. So I told the waitress and the hostess - "If a 6-ft tall blonde with a redhead, brunette and a blonde walk into the bar send them my way......."she said "Yeah right -and if Prince charming walks in with my kids - I'll be quitting on the spot" :rotfl:

Can you imagine her  when 5 minutes later they did? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I rolled with laughter of course but for some reason the kids -especially the redhead - didn't think it was sooo funny. :confused3 :rotfl:

The waitress about died on the spot - thought I was kidding.

Needless to say, I cracked up about it but they still don't. :lmao:

Heeelllloooooooo, I'm a teacher............the only part of my job that's tough is that I HAVE TO TRAVEL DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, I don't mind except that prices kill us..........back when my kids were young and I didn't work, it was MUCH CHEAPER..............still, my job is worth the sacrifice................look, I'm actually missing my job!!! :confused3 :rotfl: :confused3

JoAnn - quick go to the Docter - your not feeling well?

Great pictures - and is that a Mickey shirt as well??
We are going on a RCL cruise at Christmas - looking forward to the rock climbing and skating.

a bit of potty humor . . .

You are so funny - I always forget what I was going to say too!

I am also prone to being the screaming shrew - when they were little (8, 9 11 or so) I opened up a closet door and all their toys came flying out at me - at which point I screamed something about their <edited> toys - they sure do remember that one! They knew I was mad but they will never let me down there - maybe I had forgotten to take my medication? Can't really remember.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My kids know when I resort to that trick - RUN! ABANDON SHIP - MOM'S ON THE WARPATH! That's how they gauge how serious I am. Unfortunate but that is when everything gets REALLY quiet and suddenly I have lots of little elves helping clean up.

I know I said I'd be away for a bit I've popped in today because I need to chill. I've had another bad day today.. I must say Andrew's toilet paper form made me roar with laughter:lmao: :lmao:

Spent last night in Eastbourne at the hospital, we had a call that my aunt was going down fast so we drove there 2 hours, she died in the early hours of the morning, it was quite distressing she had decided she wanted to go, she has been a diabetic for 46 years and she decided to no longer have her insulin she refused all inteventions except pain relief and she stopped eating and drinking, she didn't die easily and I was pretty shaken...............sorry if this is a bit graphic but thanks for listening.
2 more days to Ofsted another 2 and they will have gone!!!!!:woohoo:

:tink: sends you lots of :grouphug:  and pixiedust: hoping that you know your being missed and have the best hopes for you! :flower3:

I'm stepping away for about 2 hrs - the girls want to play with their cousin. (My girls being Isis and Chloe - we're having a doggy playdate) Which I never allowed my human girls to do - as they had no cousins. :)

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt.

We are also sailing on the Magic on the 28th of July. I just discovered these Boards. Can't believe it is only 33 days until we get to Barcelona. We have 5 adults in our group - myself, my husband, our daughter and son-in-law, and our son. This is our 6th Disney cruise, including the first Panama canal cruise. It is the second for our kids. Just wondered if anyone else is doing the VIP Vatican and Highlights of Rome? Has anyone heard any review of this excursion and how big the groups are?:smickey:

My wife (Perdie -on the boards) and I made a last minute booking for the July 28 Cruise as we are Americans living in London and since the price dropped so much we decided it was kind of a no brainer. We have never been on a Disney Cruise before in fact I made suprise reservations to take my wife on the Eastern Caribbean in Feb 2008 for her 30th birthday. Needless to say were excited about this trip and why we haven't had quite the countdown most have had on this thread we still can't wait to take our first Disney Cruise.

A big welcome to both of you!

sorry to hear that. prayers are with you.

A little late, but before saying good night - I had a very busy day.

A little background, my oldest son had applied for a f/t job/position where my brother works and it was perfect timing - tuition not due for about 2 months which left some time for being called. Once before the opportunity came but I had just paid the semester.

He rec'd a call on Wed. to come in for an interview on Thursday. Today, Friday, he got the call to go in Monday for his paper work to be processed (id, bc, college transcript, etc.). They will probably send him the same day or the next day, Tuesday, for drug/urine test. Not sure when they do physical. They immeditately go into a 5 week training period/certification courses. 160 people applied for 10/12 positiions. Of course we knew, if he got called - he would not be able to cruise with us (I think mainly because of the training progress and these positions don't open up often).

I have been on the phone most of the day with my ds (who got the call while at his p/t job, my brother, DCL, DVC and Continental to see what my/our options are. We were even considering bringing my niece (only because my brother brought it up). I don't think this will be possible for various reasons.

I will wait til Wed., Thursday the latest and will then probably cancel his reservation and will have to rearrange my family in the two cabins. I really wish he could do both - but this opportunity might not come for another year again and it might not come at a good time either.

College has been and is a priority - but at the rate he is going, he will never finish. The plan is to try to take a class in the evening (even if he has to skip a semester until he knows what shift/hours he will have). We did not spend a ton of money and spent four years in college without trying to go the distance.

Thanks for listening and stay tuned.

Lynn, my deepest condolences to you. I can relate how tough it was to be there when a loved one passes, especially when it's not easy (btdt).

Anna,
Congrats to your son and best of luck trying to work out cancelling his portion of the cruise. Opportunity knocks, not always at the most opportune time. Hope all works out for all of you.

Wow, it's slow tonight. I know....... if I talk to myself I can get a FLUFFYpirate: !

Quite coincidentally, I got this today in an email about handy things around the house. Thought I'd share:

Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

You see we really are being quite practical!!!! (albeit a little nutty)
:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Yes, MJ is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:surfweb:

Yes, Thanks Mary Jo. They are great!

So - i had my friend who is an art major play with the quotes. What we decided was to take the image of mickey and center it, then wrap all the quotes around it. We have two ideas, either make them swirl around the circle, or just plain back and forth. The standard back and forth is easy. the swirl is hard to read, but looks cool. I need to set a deadline, perhaps first week of July. And then those will be the taglines I go with. With all the new tags, I am updating the list daily.

Also - Pirate or Mickey shape between each person? I thought about doing a multi pirate based on how many pirates you have gotten, but then I think Helen would have a whole line of just Pirates, then her name. :cool2:/QUOTE]

Thanks for doing this. Whatever you decide I'm sure will look fine. Can't wait to see the final product. I envy your talent!!!!!:flower3:

This is tough...............my oldest is taking a quarter off of her post-graduate portfolio school to join us, another tough choice and we went back and forth about it before she decided............best wishes with everything!
