Great group! I knew about you and Laura, but not the rest. I'll find out something about those restful sea days when taking the Magic back from the Med in August . . . I still think my heart will lie with the Med cruise overall though, for those fabulous ports.

I hope to have one in Sorrento on our private tour,

I think it will be a

PIZZA FLASH, a bit over exposed with propellers on it!

If we finish up with Pompeii and get to Sorrento for lunch (as I anticipate) we will probably have pizza there too -- just none with propellers or flashes, please! (Sorry, Sallie . . .) Then when we head back into Napoli I want to try Michele's for the reputation.

I prefer the 2008 P/C repo as you always see land, my stateroom is looking to the land most of the time down to P/C, as I am port side.

I didn't want to do the Atlantic that ocean is far more active and nothing to see really for six days, plus my air fair one way is the same as a return.

This year I have short flights.

I love Sorrento stayed there for two weeks before, so I would like to spend a bit more time there and have lunch on our tour.

Yes, I will be interested to see what it feels like to be such a relatively small ship in the middle of such a vast ocean, no land for 6 days . . . of course we're only going because the prices got so low that we could do the July 28 med, the repo, and the 10 days in France between for the same price we had already paid for the 10 day Aug 8 med and the 10 days in France. Yes, the airfare is the same one way or return, but we had already paid for that anyway and we were able to switch dates with no problem.

It sounds a deal, and you will have guest entertainment sounds good. But I wouldnt do it.

Many people must feel that way, since even with steep discounts I don't think it's close to selling out. Even without the extra entertainment I think it will be an adventure, though. And after the crazy pace of the preceding 3 weeks, a slower pace will be welcome.

As I think you know, Grandmax3 also from the 2008 repo thread is asking for a private Palo brunch and I'm in on that one . . . with so many days at sea, it's hard to believe that we won't get one of them.

Andrew, you are the very personification of fluff!!!! How else does someone get to 10,000 posts and so many pirates????????

I was looking back on some of the past posts this was POSTED APRIL 1ST- APRIL FOOL JOKE

Have you checked the DCL Website today, we have an extra stop at Palma Majorca, day 2. We now leave at 5pm Day 1, and have the next day to explore Palma.

Posted 00.00 April 1st.

Your clock and date has just changed to April 1st!

PS If you thought the Palma April fools joke was funny you should see the Panama Canal one it was a bit more involved.

It gets more silly as you read on:-

Received this e-mail from DCL this morning concerning the Panama crossing.

Thank you for booking a vacation with Disney cruise line, we have some important information concerning the Panama crossing 15 night cruise on August 17th, 2008.

Since your last vacation and our last transit of Panama, we have added a number of new features to the Disney Magic, including the Dumbarton an on deck LED videoscreen wall at the Goofy pool to show late night movies and an enhanced Vista Spa and salon area.

When adding these features to the cruise ship for everyone’s extra enjoyment, it also added weight to the overall ship. This has affected our buoyancy ratio, it is not any problem in normal sea operations, however in freshwater we have identified a problem, as the buoyancy is far less than in sea water.

The Panama crossing is in freshwater and therefore there is a small possibility if the ship is fully occupied and with the additional features as mentioned above the Panama authorities have told us the ship might not rise in the locks.

I am sure you would not wish the ship to travel in any circumstance where safety is compromised, Maritime law dictates we must make provision, so we will have to make some additional conditions of carriage on the Panama crossings, as follows:-

Luggage. Must be restricted to one bag per person.

Any souvenirs purchased in Acapulco should be shipped home, not taken onboard.

Food, the ship will be loaded in Los Angeles with sufficient food upto the Panama Canal and reloaded in Cartagena food will be restricted on the day of the crossing, to add extra buoyancy, and will consist of Salads and light snacks only all day.

We further ask all cruisers who are over 12 stone to either diet before the cruise or work out in the gym each day before the crossing to ensure the safety of the ship. Servers will restrict desserts to one per person until after the crossing.

The Captain reserves the right to ask large cruisers at the first lock of the panama canal to either get off and catch the train to the other end, or when the ship is in the lock to ‘jump’’ upwards when the bridge makes an announcement, ship to assist its levitation.

We hope these restrictions do not effect your enjoyment of this cruise and look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!

Health and safety.
