July 28, 2007 - "Rome-ancing the Mouse Cruisers" -11 days! Part 2

Hey, Anna, I THOUGHT I was done with the store and packing until the girls came home and wanted to "stop in" three stores tonight....I can't do anymore packing until tomorrow, I'm brain dead!

I know what you mean. I wanted to print out our boarding passes, but unless we are done packing - I won't know exactly how many luggages. I think I know, but I want to make sure.

I am taking a few more items on my list to pack and a few more to go and I am done. DD is done. My sons will start whenever they get up. They both decide to get a haircut last minute - since they get one every 7/10 days. My oldest son already asked me if there is a barber on the ship for a touch-up.

Can't do too much while three are sleeping and dh at work for a few hours (had to go, I don't think he has ever taken off almost two weeks, very limited time off especially in one shot).

Will defintely be back on in a bit - definitely before getting picked up this afternoon. I hope the weather here cooperates.

Good Morning from Barcelona!!

Our flights were truly uneventful. We are in the Hilton and it is beautiful!! My nephew said he thinks this is the nicest hotel he has ever stayed in.

We left Dulles last night at 10pm...took an Advil PM and when I woke up we were in Paris!! The airport there was a nightmare....and we almost missed our connecting flight. We came in at terminal 2E and left out of 2F...sounds easy...but you need to exit and come back though security. The French people earn their reputation...they split our party of 10 up and tried to make my 11 year old daughther go in a whole other area ...I flipped....

but we all finally made it though and ran to our connection and from there is was smooth sailing.

We arrived in Barcelona at 5pm last night....went to the pool and had dinner by the pool and it was yummy!! There are live bands in a shopping area across the way and we went and danced....There is a McD's and one of my kids really wanted french fries (she was mortified when she saw the FAT french fries....but relieved to find out they had the orginal as well.

Then we walked the beach....beautiful!!

At 10 pm I gave Daniel his meds for the strep throat and we all went to bed. I woke up at 7:30am (my computer said 1:30am) and I seem to have no jet lag at all.

Today I think we will go to Las Rambus (sp??) after breakfast. The Hilton told us we get a complimentary breakfast buffet.

The Disney desk opens at 1pm and we can check in here and get our KTTW cards. I am hoping to find out about upgrades as well.

We had a nice and uneventful flight here and have finished a nice day of sightseeing . . . we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! (Hmmm, Julie, Barcelona must be pretty boring if you have time to spend on the computer . . . .)

Well you know, you have to try just about everything once. OK here's the deal, I told DH to set up the alarm for 8:30. I'm up and everyone in my room is thundering away. I decided to let them sleep. Although I know this will eat up a lot of time. I DO NOT really want DD April - 14 getting sick. She didn't do too well on the the plane and was REALLY worried that she was becoming . In case I didn't explain it well, she has a reoccurring neck lymph node that does't drain well. Prior to the cruise, she was on antibiotics that she didn't respond too. So I took her to the after hours clinic because her doc was on vacation.

The doc there as a precaution gave her a TB test which turned out negative of course and gave her augmenten (SP?) and so I think that letting her sleep is in her best interest. She also got a bit sick on the plane - didn't lose it but she was definitely VERY pale and she's pale enough as it is and had lots of people giving us funny looks. I got her to walk around a bit on the plane and then she knocked out again. She seemed to be fine after she finally ate almost 20 hrs after boarding the plane.

Let me tell you, I was finally able to take a shower and it was at midnight Barcelona time. But boy oh boy, after the shower is when we realized ALL THE STUFF WE FORGOT. In fact, I am probably going to head next door to pick up a few odds and ends that we forgot.

LOL - one of those items? Both DH and I left our world travel adaptors (not the ipod ones or the world phone ones but the ones to charge the cameras, the ones to charge the computer, the ones to charge DH's cell phone.

OH Yeah - must tell you - the desk staff got a laugh yesterday when we were checking in and DH got a call from the states. I quickly looked at DH who ANSWERED IT ( ) and afte 2 minutes of talking, I yelled out - WE'RE ON VACATION - you got 30 seconds to hang up or I will! Those poor people must of thought I was a American Lady! Oh well, I AM on vacation. Don't know what is happening but my iphone isn't working here. Good thing I brought the Nextel. DH thought he set it up for international but as usual, when it concerns me, I made things rather difficult. I'm sure glad getting here wasn't that big a deal!

OK on to see if I can bump into an DISsers out there. NOTE: I will be wearing khaki green capri pants with a green, yellow, white long prego (NO! I'm not) flower print top in case anyone gets to read this. Not sure if we'll be able to make the meet. Will have a better idea later.

Oh yeah, DH was ready to kill some late night partygoers but I found the noise reassuring. The other girls rooms was deathly quiet for me. They have a room overlooking a TINY square they may call a courtyard which I call about the size of a took shed. LOL

Yeah today we went to Sagrada Famalia Church and I had to pose DH. THey are still building the church as if no one knew - our business is building grocery stores and remodels so we use a lot of the same scaffolding, forklifts and tools that were in the Church. So I posed DH in front of one and called his cell and then snapped the picture when he answered. LOL - we had a blast doing it. I'll have to post it later.

Hey Pam - just catching up. Its cheaper to type here than on the iphone which is now working BTW!

DH and April went to hit some stores - so OBVIOUSLY she must be feeling better. THey close around 8:30 on the Las Ramblas but the big and I REALLY MEAN BIG El Cortes Ingles is the size of an LA Downtown building.
