The FedEx office has Nick's passport in San Diego. We tried to have it expedited to be delivered today, and the FedEx office had a note to do so, but I guess they never took it out of the container.

Mary Jo -

You have not gotten a break with this passport! I'm so sorry about all that. Sending you pixie dust and good wishes.

Susy

It's been quiet in the house... too quiet. The normal sounds of TV and music blaring are absent. Only my rumblings and dog musings fill the air.

Sitting silently DD17 DD20 and DN18 (Disney Nephew?) sit on the couch reading Book 7. Each anxious about the progress of the other - worried about the inadvertent spoiler exclamation (happened the previous book - they never got over it and never forgave - but I won't mention who did it to protect their reputation :-) ) ... careful to make sure not to let me know what's happening because, I, unbelievably am waiting for the flight to read the darned thing.

I'm used to the noise, I work with it all of the time, and now I'm reduced to headphones in order to not distract them from this final episode of their childhood. The last book - can't believe the day is really here. The book calls to me.. and I say 'No Book - I need you to distract me from the flight because I hate flying!' Will I make it? Will a spoiler get through and destroy my carefully placed plans? Check in next week.. (just kidding - I'll be reading the book! not writing!)

Now, back to work for me!
Roan

Hey Roan - I got my DD mad - she came home and I was flipping through the book. She was whining the whole time - don't do that. That's cheating - your a cheater. Course the louder she got the more I did it. Then I messed with her head by doing this - and :scared1: . Course I thought it was hilarious but she looked like this: :furious: and  . That's ok thought since it was after 1 am - techinically not her bday anymore so I was safe. Although she continued to call me cheater.

I then started asking her innocent questions as what does this mean and this? Of course it had nothing to do with the portion of the book I was in and made sure I didn't give anything away. She too is waiting until the airplane trip to read it. Figures that of the 1st 11 hrs - she'll be rapidly reading through the first 300-400 pages. Heck she just might finish the book!

As for me - I've been having problems with my laptop. Sony says that its Apple - Apple says that its my Sony. So after 11 hrs of being on the phone and having 2 house phones die from battery usage, my laptop is back to stage one. I DO NOT HAVE A LAPTOP! DH IS fuming: :furious:

But for some crazy reason - I'm not. Although this nows means that we will be taking DH's which we now have to make sure is loaded up with the Adobe, Canon and Olympus software - now to find those disks.

Boy I till you - Murphy's law sucks! Or it is Morton's motto?

When it rains - it pours!

Oh - I forgot to mention - finally got my iphone active. :cool1: :dance3: :woohoo: BUT I have not given out my number and DH is under strict orders not to give it out anyone here. I think I might have missed one.

I  the camera - takes good ones for being a phone camera. Although I haven't really played with it yet - I think that come Wed. Ill have plenty of time to read the manual which I will print out and take with me just in case.

I was punching and pinching and trying to post - when DH realized I can access AOL e-mail on it - he got this in his head:

O did I mention - he came home with a Verizon I930 phone that is supposed to activated for International calling now. Not sure what this man is thinking when he claims I said I wanted this particular phone. Did not this man just buy me a phone/dream toy that works? And what of the 2 International World phones that I bought 2 months just for this occasion? Sometimes, I just don't understand this man. And.....in case anyone cares - our anniversery presents are stilling on the steps as DH has been on the phone for the last 11 yrs.

Bless that man's heart - he must really  me.

If you're going to be on your laptop at off hours, I'd like to be considered. :)

Lisa,

The FedEx office has Nick's passport in San Diego. We tried to have it expedited to be delivered today, and the FedEx office had a note to do so, but I guess they never took it out of the container. ::::sigh::::

So, I called them and asked them to hold it at the office, and Nick will go down on Monday to pick it up.

So, here's hoping that THAT will work, and we'll be set to go. :)

Yea!! I hope San Diego is close to you?

Sure! The company will be very nice! And that spot sounds like a good place to work and hang out. I wasn't expecting much work during this trip but now I may not be so lucky :-( -- The upside is the cruise will be paid off quicker and there is still college tuition to come up with - so that's another upside as well.

Hi, just want to wish every one a Bon Voyage. Sorry we are going to miss the trip after all the planing. I'm sure it will be a great time. We did sign up for one of the West Coast trips next year, so hopefully will meet some of you there.
The plus, if there is one, for having to cancel the Med Cruise, (other than the car we had to buy) is that we had already bought airline tickets, so, we are using those to fly over the Switzerland and Germany for a long weekend in December to do the Christmas Markets.
Anyhow, hope you all have a fun, and safe trip. I'll be looking for trip reports.
J.

Sorry you won't be joining us, but I heard the Mex cruises are fun. Maybe you can visit Disneyland when you're out here next year.

Wow, way to really stretch out the supense...............this sounds way too familiar in our family.......let's hope the passport is picked up early Monday AND YOU IMMEDIATELY LET US ALL KNOW YOU HAVE IT!! Let's all send up a prayer, that all our luggage makes it, noone is delayed and our weather is amazing on this trip!!!!!!!!!!!:grouphug:

You are so organized MJ, thx again for the fantastic packing list!!:cloud9:
I'll have Nick call me as soon as he gets it & I'll let everyone know.

Oh, I have to share. I printed out copies of the packing list for the kids to use to put their stuff together. Today Nick was commenting that he checked it over, but one item had him puzzled. I asked him what was that - and he said, "A propeller hat, mom?" :lmao:

I will have to do some emailing and some calls as well. I'm just hoping for fast internet service. fingers crossed = see you at cove cafe

Roan
Definitely sounding like a friend of Dan's (relative?)
When it rains - it pours!

Loving your blog - you are so funny!

I have printed it 4 different ways - I can't figure out the pages!!

No matter which was I print it out fold it, the excursion pages do not line up properly. Day 4 excursions come before day 1 excursions.

What am I doing wrong???

Does anyone have an opinion on that no-jet-lag stuff?

We have never tried it.

Is Dan really your brother?

And are you related to Lynn C who also lives in No CA?

I'm going to MISS the pirate

AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

should have been pirate hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mary Jo, Kidcoos, Teddy Bear were all online. I thought someone else would be grabbing the pirate:

Now I realize, I'm here all alone!!!! :rolleyes1

Everyone must be packing...

Me too!!!!

I am jonesing so bad to dive in to the book! I ALWAYS read it cover to cover the moment it arrives.

TODAY however, it arrived bright and early, and I LEFT IT UNOPENED and packed all day. And it's night here and I'm still packing and charging and listing and updating ipods.

No book. If I let myself even read one page I won't be able to stop. Must wait for long plane ride....Must avoid news, newspapers, AOL, the internet, anyplace I might see or hear a spoiler. Aaaarrrghghhh. I can hardly take it.

:dance3:

Getting punch drunk from too much packing.

Susy
This is the first time that we've bought a Harry Potter book without me sitting down immediately to read it. There have been a couple that I read just like Dan did, through the night. Ahhh, good times. But, there just isn't any time right now to listen to them... Hopefully on the flight. But, I fear that this trip we won't be sleeping much before the flight, and will be mostly sleeping on the plane agan.

Thank you. Tends to be the story of my life sometimes. You know how they say that when things go wrong it builds character. Well, I have a feeling that someone thinks I need a LOT of character building. lol

Laura, what you did w/your dd & the book - omgosh - had me in stitches. That's my kind of humor. :p

I'm sorry to hear about your laptop, though. That would really drive me bonkers. Yikes

Oh - I forgot to mention - finally got my iphone active. :cool1: :dance3: :woohoo: BUT I have not given out my number and DH is under strict orders not to give it out anyone here. I think I might have missed one.

That is so sweet!

Yea!! I hope San Diego is close to you?
San Diego is 2 hours south of Los Angeles, and where Nick lives during the school year (w/his dad). We weren't thinking when he applied for his passport, and he put his dad's address (also probably since he really likes San Diego & wants to settle there). So, the passport was slated to be delivered to SD on Monday, but I don't trust delivery. I must have called the office four times today, and the Passport agency also called me and the FedEx. It's just a shame they couldn't deliver the passport today. Thank you for the advice.

Hello,

My children are taking part in the gift bag exchange, are we ok to take part in the adult exchange or have you already organised who is taking part? if it is ok have you set a $ limit on the value of the bags?

After we have boarded the ship will I be able to get my husbands suit dry cleaned in time for the formal night on the sunday? Does anyone know the cost of the dry cleaning service on board?

How have some of you booked brunch at palo's, when I go on dcl website it says not available!

Many thanks

Allison
