I am taking care of mom this weekend. My brother is out of town.

Not going to well.....

Good morning everyone,
It was a long day yesterday. We left the house for mass at 9-am and didn't get home until after 10 p.m.. After dinner we went back to my aunts for warm memories and lots of laughs. You all would have loved my aunt- she truly was a saint living on Earth! I know she and my parents and Jimmy's parents will all be watching over us on this journey!

:grouphug:

Ok- I will make tags with numbers in which you will print your name and location which you will attach to your bag. I will bring paper clips, but if you attach one to your bag now- it will save time. Each tag will have a number which you will put in a bag . You will pick from the bag, and if it is from your region, you will pick again !!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I will be doing a little more shopping and actually begin putting things in the suitcase- which after reading about all the lost luggage is starting really make me nervous!:scared: :scared: :scared:

Does anyone know if Andrew made it out of England???:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Friendly reminder to EVERYONE......any and every family .......who would like to participate in our DISmeet/gift bag exchange.....please bring one gift bag with a paper clip on it for from $15-20 from your hometown to exchange with another family from another area. You may participate whether you've written 1 post or 2000 posts!! Please join us at 9:30am in Promenade Lounge on Sunday, July 29th. (our first sea day!)This is not the kids' exchange, it's for families or couples who want to join in!!! See you all soon!!!

San Diego is 2 hours south of Los Angeles, and where Nick lives during the school year (w/his dad). We weren't thinking when he applied for his passport, and he put his dad's address (also probably since he really likes San Diego & wants to settle there). So, the passport was slated to be delivered to SD on Monday, but I don't trust delivery. I must have called the office four times today, and the Passport agency also called me and the FedEx. It's just a shame they couldn't deliver the passport today. Thank you for the advice.

We are leaving for Dallas today and flying out to London tommorrow. I will be finding a computer to get online Monday night to make sure he has that passport in his hands!!

Hello,

My children are taking part in the gift bag exchange, are we ok to take part in the adult exchange or have you already organised who is taking part? if it is ok have you set a $ limit on the value of the bags?

After we have boarded the ship will I be able to get my husbands suit dry cleaned in time for the formal night on the sunday? Does anyone know the cost of the dry cleaning service on board?

How have some of you booked brunch at palo's, when I go on dcl website it says not available!

Many thanks

Allison

Hi Allison, When you get on board go directly to reservations for Palo. They always hold back reservations for booking on board. I would do it as soon as possible though.

"A passport, as I'm sure you know, is a document that one shows to government officials whenever one reaches a border between countries, so the officials can learn who you are, where you were born, and how you look when photographed unflatteringly."
--Lemony Snicket

Love it!!!

Sallie, I have been keeping you and your extended family in my prayers. I am thankful that you were able to attend all the services as this is such a tribute to someone that sounds very special to you!

Not to sure about the number/bag thing. Do I need to do anything except bring the gift to the Dismeet? I can attach a tag there, if I understand correctly.

A friend of a friend did this cruise in June. My friend told me that her friend who went lost every piece of luggage for the entire family (6 pieces) (so much for cross packing....did not help them much at least at first). As the trip progressed, 5 pieces made it to them along the way. The one piece that never turned up was the mom's piece....the one with the jewelery and all the new outfits she spent days and days shopping for.

I think I am not going to bother to pack at all and just tell everyone that my suitcase was lost...I will just be happy wearing the same thing every day with a good excuse....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lisa, I like the way you think!!!

Sallie, thoughts and prayers for you and yours. Very good that you were still here (not on our wonderful vacation!) for the services.

Okay, we are off today for Dallas...London tommorrow. Barcelona on the 26th!!! Safe journey everyone!

Only bring the bag, but attach only a paper clip to it for the number and location tag I will give you.

That's was one of the solutions I thought of too when I spent days and days on the beach thinking about packing!!! I am still hoping I will wake up one morning- very soon I hope ) and all my bags will be packed and ready by the most wonderful tag fairy who I love and adore!!!! I still believe in magic!!!:tinker:

Since we're not leaving until Friday, I really want to hold off...........until the packing is done, I won't be too excitied b/c I'll be too worried about forgeting stuff!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :laundy:

I'm sorry, Sallie, when you mentioned Jimmy's parents were watching over you, did you mean your dog's parents?pluto: :cloud9:

Hi Jo,
My husband (Jimmy) parents and mine have passed away at too early an age. So the few aunts I have left are very special to me and my daughter who has not had a gradparent since she was five. Being lucky enough to have had one grandmother alive until I was 45 was a blessing- and I know that I am a better person for having the history, stories of "when i was a kid", and the wisdom that only a grandparent can bestow. Those first hand life moments are one of the many things, but probably the most important thing I can't give my daughter- except the second hand memories I have which will never be the same as hearing them while holding those magnificint, old, spotted, wrinkled, warm hands of a grandparent. I hope this makes sense !

PS_ NO DOGS... my cat and kittens would have a stroke!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry, now that I looked at your signature.....you have your cats identified with cat icons, and your husband identified with Pluto! I just looked at it fast and got confused.....I'M SO SORRY!!

I understand how you feel about your aunts, grandparents and of course, parents.........one of my uncles in particular was VERY SPECIAL AND I MISS HIM TO THIS DAY....he passed away at 55, and since then, I've tried to "Seize the Day!" Planning trips like this is part of that process.

Once again.............:grouphug:
