Ok folks I have to go now as I've just got to do some sewing as I'll never get packed

OK more than 20 minutes and I'm still locked out! I guess at this rate I will be signing online documentation at the port! :sad2:

But if I have to pay for these dang excursions because their darn system wouldn't let me cancel - well,,, I'm gonnna.........

SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!

Laura,

Step away from the computer...take a deep breath and slowly exhale while counting to 10. Repeat as needed.
If this fails...than SCREAM !!!!!!

As Josh got straight A's in his end of year school report and level 5's in all his SAT's we bought him a laptop as a reward.

Hmmm.... In the U.S., the SAT exam is the one students take the year before going off to college - the one on which their entire fate depends, that they cram for and take overpriced prep classes for, etc.

Somehow I don't think that's what you're referring to. Just curious, what's an SAT exam in the UK?

Advice from me

Get all your paper together for work.

Throw it all up in the air.

Go whooopie!!!

It works for me!

PS if you get sacked, you cant sue me!

Uh, excuse me... We need to talk to you about your TPS reports....

("Office Space" joke, for those who have no idea what I'm talking about)

And I am not going to do an 'office' dance.

Brian - I want to do Rome but am waiting to see if onboard they have the Exclusive behind the Scenes tours - but I betcha once on board you'll have no trouble. And if you have access to internet - you might even be able to schedule it all that way. Unless you meet up with someone that doesn't have any plans. I have always been or known someone that wings port days and they don't seem to worry about it! Hope you find someone soon - maybe with all the newbies - you should try to post again just in case - how many were you looking for again?

Laura,
Good ideas. We're not stressing about it. We're scheduled for Jumping Back tour and that seems to be going fine. Just seems like we might be able to do more in Rome if we had a private. We're four, so I would think double that number would be affordable to switch.

In La Szezia we're scheduled for Florence and Pisa. We all know what horrible reviews that excursion has thus far. So, if we can't get a private there (we really wanted to buy Andrew's extra Pisa climb tix) then we might switch to something that is just in Florence and skip Pisa altogether.

In Villefranche we're supposed to do the Perfume factory. Same bad reviews. So, we'll try something different I think.

Doing any on our own is OK w/DW and me. It's DD16 that's a little freaked out about that idea.

Sorry you're getting bumped from DCL. I rarely go to the site because it's so cumbersome and slow. One would think Disney could produce top-notch Web/Mkt materials. But often they don't.

Brian

I see lots of pink but hard to tell. For those of you in CA, it would be hard to beat In-N-Out for burgers. Or Pink's for hot dogs. We just loved both when we visited for Rose Bowl game.

Brian

We're back -- In-N-Out burgers are good . . . the Shake Shack isn't a chain, though (neither is Burger Joint) and if you go at normal eating times the lines can be incredible. The best chain we have in NYC is Burger Heaven, but it can't hold a candle to the other two. If only the fries from Burger Joint could replace the ones at Shake Shack, there would be eating paradise. The black and white shake at Shake Shack is fab too . . . I could only manage half of mine though. It's nice to know that people aren't really recognizable on the Shack Cam . . . I've only ever looked at it to see how long the line is.

I'm sorry the system is so terrible -- I've had plenty of times when I couldn't get in, but so far never in a crunch. Good luck and don't burst a blood vessel over this!

I'm in agreement with you. Always choose the local joint over the chain locales. If you ever take Route 66 through the Heartland (does anybody do tis anymore?) I can turn you on to some tasty local places. Although we do much better in Tex-Mex than burgers.

That reminds me that DW said the one thing she'll miss while away is good Mexican food. What are you all going to miss while away, if anything?

Whew! For the past two days we've been so busy and I've only been able3 to pop in here and there (when DH wasn't looking:rolleyes1 ). Sallie was so sweet. She called last night because she was worried I was missing in action. Everything's fine - just trying to ketup with the stuff I'm SUPPOSED to be doing, like:laundy: , paying bills:surfweb: , cleaning:scared: , packing:sad2: , etc.

Yesterday DH & I decided to clear off our video camera and digital snap camera to get it ready for the tons of pics/videos we're going to take. Thankfully he reminded me to load the software for the digital camera onto my laptop! Imagine if I went to upload and left the software at home and spent hours trying to download it from the internet!!!:scared: JUST CHECK,IF YOU ARE TAKING A LAPTOP, THAT YOU LOADED ALL THE SOFTWARE FOR YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES ON TO IT!

Anyway, we uploaded software, pics and videos which took about 4 hours but it's done. Everything's cleared off and ready for the 1000's of pics I'm going to take. I labelled cables (thanks for the idea, Sallie) and tried to organized all the electronic stuff. Ugh.... but it's done. Now I just have to remember to charge all the batteries.......:sad2: :sad2:

Maryann

Maryann, thank you so much for this reminder. I hadn't even thought of it. we just always use my office computer for pictures and would have completely forgotten this.

Finding out what you actually miss while you're away is part of the purpose of traveling :cool2:

Good one, Dan! Scrapbookers, take note . . .

Julie,
I think it's 2345. As cheap as I am it's probably somewhere near the keel and engine room :rotfl2:

Brian

THat's where our room is!!! we are the only downgraders who didn't get upgraded:confused3

Oh well at least we are on the ship and have $3000 in our pockets (so to speak).

Sandra

PS let me know how the directions are, I'm curious if anyone can understand them>

Funny you should mention this today, Maryann because this was my planned job today!:rolleyes1 However, our lunch bunch friends had other plans and we went out for our "bon voyage" lunch which was very nice. I don't think I have 4 hours worth because my camera will plug right into my laptop and I only have one disk to clear off the video camera, but it all takes time. I think dh saved all the camera pictures on the computer downstairs, but I still have to erase the cards. It just never ends, does it??:confused3 . Now I will be back on square one tomorrow! What a surprise!:rotfl2:
