Hi everyone,

Really quick hello. About to board the airplane from San Antonio Texas to Dallas & then home to Los Angeles -- looking at 6 hours before I get home. I'll tell you the sad passport details when I am able to.

Hugs to all. I know I have a LOT to ketchup on.

mj

I hope everything has worked out now with the passport

( I hear that Dan has some spare under his pillow!!):rotfl:

Costco is currently selling Verizon International Phone cards for $30 that seems to have some very good rates (both calling from and to the U.S.). They have toll free dial-ins for every country we'll be visiting.

I find it ironic (and maybe a bit frustrating) that Verizon sells an intetnational phone card for a decent price and yet my Verizon phone won't work anywhere in Europe. Especially since we asked before we signed up for this service if we would be able to use it in Europe and were assured it would be no problem.

Okay guys I need some help. I have made 153 nametags. Everyone can see the final list above.

Jeanne tells me there is 167 lanyards. If anyone is missing from the list above please let me know. I would love everyone to have a nametag. Please send a PM if you figure out who is missing.

Lisa

Lisa,

I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this and really everyone here who went out of their way and have so much to do already to take on certain tasks.

It's really appreciated.

Andrew, Laura and I posted several times about it some time back -- if I get the chance, I'll find the first of those posts and you can read it. Some of it is a mystery even to us, though.

I would like that...I am very curious. I am in EB and WB and we are thinking of cancelling the EB. I was turned off by several people on the thread...truth be told. I was busy on this thread and on the WB...the WB is a lot like this thread and I really like everyone.

We are not sure what we are going to do.....
Lisa

Here you go...

Wireless Internet Access Disney Magic
Pay as you go - $0.75 per minute
100 min for $55 ($0.55/min)
250 min for $100 ($0.40/min)
500 min for $150 ($0.30/min)

I truly wish they still had the old Unlimited Package available, and the really troublesome thing to me is that there is no reason they couldn't. The new wireless service does not cost them anymore than the old service save for the initial cost of setting it up...

Thank yo so much. I am writing the info. down now. Is this using their computers or our own laptop/both? We can use the laptop from almost anywhere on the ship?

Sorry for all the questions. I wish they had the unlimited also. My kids fall asleep on their bed w/their laptop still on/signed on. Could you imagine this happening?:scared1: :scared1:

hey julie,

do you have some of the older quotes of the day written down? i think i want to put them in my scrapbook.

thanks,

lynnise

Sure -- here are some and if you can tell me something about one you remember, I'll send it as well. Hopefully I will remember which ones I have already used, since I have more I am saving for the days before I leave! I've even decided which one to use the morning I leave (July 26). They are all written down in my travel journal.

The voyage of discovery lies not in finding new landscapes but in having new eyes. -- Marcel Proust

I sought trains. I found passengers. -- Paul Theroux

The world is a great book -- they who never stir from home read only a page. -- St Augustine

I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving. To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it, but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. -- Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Travel is 90 percent anticipation and 10 percent recollection. -- Edward Streeter

The world is a country which nobody ever yet knew by description; one must travel through it one's self to be acquainted with it. -- Lord Chesterton

Traveling is not just seeing the new, it is also leaving behind. Not just opening doors, but also closing them behind you, never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes. --Jan Myrdal

It's where we go, and what we do when we get there, that tells us who we are.--Joyce Carol Oates

We are all thinking and worried about you. Don't the passports come from Texas? or Some kind of office there? Please don't tell me you personally went there to straighten this out. Well, if so, we do what we have to do.

Waiting and hoping for good news. You are killing us.

Hi,
I just found this site and chat area.
Is everyone here going on the 7-28 Med cruise?
We have a 5 year old son? Any potential friends for him out there. Our first DC was the 2005 Inaugural Mexican Riviera cruise. Our son made 2 friends immediately, and what a difference it made. On our last cruise, 3-11-06 West Caribbean, he didn't seem to connect with anyone like the first cruise.
I have a question, almost afraid to ask..... What is a 'fish extender'?

If I was asked to choose one, I could not. These are all great quotes. I enjoy reading them when you post them. Thanks Julie.

This is the most updated list of participants. We are assigning days for deliveries. If you have a request please PM me and I'll work out the schedule by Friday. Is everyone OK with the idea of closing the Fish Extender gift swap as of Friday, 7/20? I know people don't want to run out of gifts to deliver but at the same time want to get their shopping and packing done. If anyone is leaving before Friday let me know and I could pull the date back. I'm open to any suggestions.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes, we are all on the July 28 cruise. A fish extender is a kind of hanging wall organizer with pockets that some people hand on the little "fish" outside their cabin -- it allows others to leave you notes, presents, etc.

Lisa, I just spent some time looking and couldn't figure out when we had been talking about it -- "Dis" time seems to have no relationship to real time and I can't get a grip on how long ago it was. However, I would never cancel a cruise based on a few other people -- they are big ships and I believe you can have as much or as little contact with others as you choose (and have a great time regardless).

First of all WELCOME!

Don't be afraid to ask questions. You'll find this a very helpful and fun group.

A fish extender is a sorter/organizer that you hang from the fish outside your cabin door. If you'd like to participate feel free to join in. During the cruise other people from the Dis will leave little gifts, (nothing big or expensive) just something as a little surprise when you go back to your room.

I'll find a picture and post it for you.

thanks julie! this is just what i needed. i will try hunting down the ones from earlier this month.

thanks again. when i complete a page that uses a quote, i'll post it.

( I hear that Dan has some spare under his pillow!!):rotfl:

Yeah, they keep turning up. Strangest thing though - sometimes I have these nightmares that I'm really someone else... some guy named Jason Bourne... very strange.

I find it ironic (and maybe a bit frustrating) that Verizon sells an intetnational phone card for a decent price and yet my Verizon phone won't work anywhere in Europe. Sandra

Cel phone plans are developed by the same people who design airplane fares and train schedules. The are incomprehensible. No surprise that the people selling the phones/plans don't comprehend them either.

Oh I am sorry. I did not mean I would cancel because of anyone. We have been thinking 4 weeks vacation next summer (and a Thanksgiving cruise as well) may just be too much.

My beloved niece (the doctor I brag about) just announced she is getting married in Sept or Oct.

Did Andy or Lisa cancel? I had helped Andy book the cruise and I really like Lisa, her DH graduated from VA Tech and we talked a lot during the April 16th time frame. I scanned the thread and the only thing I noticed was lots of VA Tech people....!!
