Well, the lobsters are waiting in the car. DH birthday dinner is tonight, BDay is tomorrow so we have to go and cook the little crustaceans Yum Yum

Sandra

Sandra - hope DH's b-day dinner turned out great!

MJ - glad to 'hear' your doing a bit better. More of :tink: pixiedust: to help make tomorrow go as bumpless as possible!

Right now I have a mean headache that I can't get rid of. Maybe I'll try and get to bed early for once.

Oh yeah, I just rediscovered a local place that had great peach cobbler out here in the West. For anyone who is out here and is hankering for some southern style food. There is a restaurant called PoFolks in Buena Park, CA which is just down the street from Knott's Berry Farm - another theme park just down the street from Disney which is more rollercoaster oriented and Old West themes than anything, but they have hush puppies, Sweet Tea and awesome peach cobbler (along with other flavors)!

I haven't had a peach cobbler like this since I left Basic Training in Alabama. That was the first time I tried it and I fell in love with the flavor. Over the years I've had a few good ones but after all this time to discover that just about 6 miles from my house is this just as good substitute - I am in heavenly bliss right now! :cloud9:

ROTFL - on a good note - on the way out the restaurant, everyone know those machine that you hold onto and they "test" your love skills? Well, DD14 tried it and the light landed on Mild. DD19 tried it and got Naughty But Nice.

Then, :rotfl2: , I tried it and got Hot Stuff!

DH went next and he got ------

OK ready for this?

Poor Fish - try again! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Everyone in the restaurant heard us roaring as we left the building! :rotfl:

Hope you have a good Friday, Andrew.

Thank you.

THOOSE WHO CLIMB ON OTHER PEOPLES BACKS TO GET UP, FALL BACK DOWN QUICKER IN THE END!

One week to go!!!!! off to Barcelona a week Saturday!!

what are you doing up so late?

Hi guys,

I see I have a LOT of ketchup to do!!

Good news & bad news.

Kelly's passport came in (very happy).

Docs have not arrived yet (waiting patiently).

I checked the passport agency online system for Nick's passport (which had been mailed last week), and then checked the US Postal status - the passport was undeliverable to his dad's address in San Diego (Oh, so not happy). So after going through a very frustrating automated USPS phone line, I called the Passport people to find out the status. Bottom line, the passport is on its way back to the Passport Agency & will be sent out again so we would probably get it in about two weeks (this is where I started to tear up)... so I asked what could we do... We get to go AGAIN to get two pics taken ($), and then tomorrow we have to go to Downtown Los Angeles to the Federal Building, and stand in line so we can show proof that we're leaving on 7/24, and have a passport done right then & there. How much more is this going to cost me, I wonder. It opens at 8am-3pm, so we will be there super early so that we can get a good spot in line, even if we leave my house at 6am. He asks me, "Oh, so I have to miss work tomorrow?"

So, when you meet us, please disregard the marks where I wrung his neck.

I'll be able to read posts later when we get back from taking pics. Oh, and if you can spare a prayer, some pixie dust, and a few good wishes that all turns out well tomorrow, I'd really appreciate it.

mj

Hope everything works out today and you manage to get the passport finally sorted.

Hey all - just started to print out confirmation vouchers and hotel confirmation and putting them in my file folder to take with me. I have finally started the process of gathering paperwork.

Also, I bought my FE gifts - doesn't look like we have more than 18 right now. Just wondering if I can get away with the number I have bought for (25) we shall see!

Anyway, I will probably start packing on Saturday or Sunday and am STRONGLY encouraging DD's to pack also.

I have contacted the private tour guides I contracted with and am waiting to hear from them

I am waiting to hear from Private Airport shuttle service to confirm pick-up from Port to Barcelona, from Orly to Paris and from Disney Paris to CDG.

Lets see, anything else I have missed so far?

Oh yeah - my formal clothes - still haven't figured that one out! :confused3

Funny thing is, for all that cruise plans have been distracting me from most everything else (aka work), I've finally found something that is even distracting me from cruise plans.

That is, of course, Harry Potter.

After seeing the midnight premier (not bad), I just finished rereading Order of the Phoenix, and was delighted to find "proof" that Snape is a good guy after all.

It seems that when Harry is taking Oclamancy classes with Snape, he yells at Snape something along the lines of "isn't it your job to find out what Voldemort is saying to his Death Eaters". Snape, rather than being insulted, answers something along the lines of "as a matter of fact, it is".

Obviously, he was following Dumbledore's instructions not to break cover.

Ok, I know it has nothing to do with the cruise, but my departure is still 13 days away, and HP7 is only 7 days away. I better move fast with rereading Half Blood Prince or I may completely run out of time to pack....

Hey Dan - you and my DD20 will have a good time discussing the book. She just started rereading the same book. She is working her way backwards she just told me. She went to see the movie on Wednesday at the Imax theatre in Ontario which is about 45-1 hr away. Me - personally I would have gone to a local one but then again I have never seen an Imax movie so I don't know what I'm missing.

I will ask DD what she thinks about Snape.

:)

Ok things that I HAVE done

t-shirts ordered, should be delivered by 20th July
FE gifts sorted
Family gift bag sorted
Beauty parlour for legs etc booked
Hairdresser appointment booked
Nail bar appointment booked
EUR and USD bought

This weekend I WILL START THE PACKING and I will also print out our door magnets

Just took DD14 to the doc - she has this recurring problem with her lymph node not draining right and she blows up in the neck like a blowfish. Poor child had to take her 8th grade picture looking like a blowfish - so she is forever in eternity AKA The Blowfish! :rotfl2:

That's a tought one regarding the picture.

I'm so sorry that the passport issue is getting so difficult, Mary Jo!:grouphug: and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to you that it all works out.

Interesting, Dan -- I've always thought that there was a real problem with Snape being on Voldemort's side -- after his history, for Dumbledore to have trusted him so implicitly would suggest that Dumbledore was stupid to have done so, and that just wasn't believable.

Anyone know the answer to this? I have posted this question on the general DCL forum.

Hi

I am just wondering I know you can add stateroom credit as a gift, and I know it is in incremements of $25.

Anyone know how much it costs to do this? Also is there a maximum amount.

My thinking is - I would love to pay for our excursions in advance - I was wondering how much it would cost and indeed whether DCL would let me add $1000 to our onboard credit account. I could say it is a gift for my DH is needs be?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Oh our cruise is 2 weeks tomorrow - dont know whether that makes a difference?

What do you think?? Anyone know?

Helen, to my knowledge there is no charge associated with adding a stateroom credit of any amount to your account in advance. I would think that if you wanted to add $1000 to your account now, all you would have to do is to call DCL with a credit card and it will be there for you.
