Looks like lots of travel docs have arrived this week, congrats to all. We are getting soooo excited!!


Does anyone have information/links to transfers from the Paris airport (CDG) to Disneyland Paris and back??

Hi there - we are doing moving into DLP property on Sunday 8/12/07. We are doing the two parks betwee Sun -Tues. We have to vacate property before 10 am to get to CDG before 11 - Does anyone know if almost 3 hrs is cutting it too close for the international flight?

I'm gonna check them out. I'm winging it in Barcelona. I keep hearing that taxis are reasonable and plentiful. We get in at 11:05 am. But, I'd like to have something organized for Paris. Did you get a recommendation on this company? Or find them yourself?

Found them myself after several weeks of looking. I went with them because of the person waiting with placard, speed of their resonse and the fact that they said their cars were a bit newer and more spacey. I am really concerned with the amount of luggage as 5 of our group are girls!

Question about Paris:
We are quite content to wander and take metros on our own while in Paris. But, we really want to do Versaille too and I'm unsure how to organize this one. Should we just take the train there ourselves? Or do you really need a guide to do it justice? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Leslie, we are going with a private tour guide which I researched back in Feb. We are doing a Versaille tour, if you would like to contact her to see if you can hook up with us on that day - I can PM you her info. She seems like a very nice lady. Payment is due after tours and she can even meet you at your hotel - we had to tell her we wanted to do Versaille as that requires a special permit for her to guide us through. Anyway, if you want too - PM me. It is only our group of 6 going. We chose to go private for our first time just to make sure that we don't offend anyone and don't have to wait on a large group.

Basically, the other thread had a website started, then people's email addresses were taken from that to get messages from another thread, so our website was closed. A few weeks ago two from the thread decided to try to restart it, with some security restrictions, and for some reason things went totally crazy. Andrew, yarnghnoj isn't going anymore, and Lisa said something to the extent of "I hope you all have a good time on this cruise" which I wasn't sure if it meant she isn't going, or she just doesn't wish to participate with those on the thread anymore. It was really upsetting, and reminds me of why I have always been so cautious about getting too involved with something like this.

Yes, I am so happy that I ended up on this cruise and this thread with all of you -- the Aug. 8 thread never really got itself together or felt like a group, and this one has been delightful. I have to go against my basic nature to get involved with a bunch of strangers like this (!) but I'm really glad in this case that I did.

We are all poker lovers - was thinking about planning a poker game one night. Will bring chip set if I can find enough people to get a game together.

Um...if you'll have DH, I'm sure he can be presuaded to join if you want. HOWEVER.........here's my disclaimer:

DH is an extremely LUCKY fellow. But he does play nice.

If you do get a game together I'm sure he'd love to play. Would you be playing for fun or with small change? If you plan on playing for small change, I would say to handle the $$ part in private and then you can move on. Just to be on the safe side. Also, if you play outside - you might want to consider near Quiet Cove or an adult place - less chance of kids interupting your game. I know how some diehard Poker players can be!

P.S. - DH is a lucky fellow - Read disclaimer above and here's a tidbit - we financed a large portion of our cruise with winnings from a poker tournament here in Commerce, CA. He lucked out on his first ever tournament and place 44th with $5000 cash. Otherwise, we wouldn't have paid off our cruise until possible the last moment.

I am just as shocked as the others to hear of that behavior on a DIS meet thread. That sounds awful!

My first reaction was...maybe we should cancel as we are booked for that cruise. Wouldn't want to be sailing with a less than nice group.

My second (horrible selfish) reaction was, I wonder if anyone who cancelled had a suite???

We have always had concierge but could only get category 4's for aug 2008 repo and are really hoping to upgrade.

Horrible! Terrible! Selfish!

Well, I just got back from a private audience with the pope!!!!! I wanted to explain my hot flashes and my deep concern about the high temperatures in Rome. I asked for special dispensation concerning the use of his beautiful fountains. He was very sympathetic and quite friendly. He couldn't believe how red my face got and the amount of steam pouring through my clothing during one of my flashes. Sooooooo... He granted me a special dispensation- and I now I CAN-COOL OFF IN THE FOUNTAINS WITHOUT GETTING ARRESTED!!!!!!
And guess what?????? He loved my propellor hat so much that he sent his pope shopper out to get him and his whole entourage one !!!!
Wait.. Im not done..... the best part was when he asked if I would like to go for a ride in his POPE mobile!!!!!!!! I thought I would faint!!! I quickly said 10 Hail Mary's, 5 Our Fathers and a quick Glory be!!!!!!
I didn't think any of you would believe me... so here is a picture me and my Pope !!!!!!! What a great guy!!!!!

PHEW! After 1 3/4 hrs - I finally caught up to 28 pages! Minor miracle at that.

Thanks to everyone who posted info on transfers to DLP. You all have been so wonderful and helpful. I feel this is going to be our best cruise ever knowing we will be cruising with such a great group of folks. As we count down the days left we wanted to wish everyone stress-free packing, healthy families and safe traveling.

DD turns 20 on Friday. She is frantically trying to convince DH and myself to go and pick up her copy of the book. Here's my dilemna:

1. I pre-ordered at 40% off from a self-standing major Borders bookstore.

I spoke with them yesterday to confirm that they had my order. They will be of course having the wonder Harry Potter celebration party from 9 -12 where they will be handing out wristbands for lines.

Today I went to another mall where they have a small Borders Express. They too will be having a HP party. However, the clerk recommended that people might want to come to the little one as the bigger stores will more likely have bigger lines. They will be having help from the closed mall security and they will be having cookies, games, costume contests where the winner will get 1st place in line. Anyway, he told me that it was too late pre-order as the books were already in the back.

He also practically guaranteed that someone could just walk in off the street as they had order 900 books over the pre-ordered amount just to be on the safe side.

I HATE CROWDS - this is me in a mall -

So, do I forgo the $40% discount, and go for the smaller mall store which probably will be less busy or should I try and gut it out and go to the one that I ordered the book from? Also, the smaller store told me that they should have plenty of limited edition posters to hand out which the bigger store may run out of?

The bad thing of course is that at the small store I have to pay full price - but books I don't mess around with - if I want it - I'll buy it. After all - the mind is a terrible thing to waste right?

I strive to instill in all my children a love of reading. I got one fanatic like me (although I have switched more to Books-On-Tape lately), 1 avid magazine and required school book reader and 1 (male) who scored off the charts in reading but HATED doing it!

Oh well, what's a mom to do? I will probably convince DH to go with me on Friday night as that is DD's 20th b-day!

UPDATE: As for me - I finally opened my iphone - I caved! and will be hooking it up to iTunes when the DIS goes down tonight.

I was kidding with DD and told her that I was going to try and bribe the clerk into telling me who died in the last book but you would have thought that I suggested that God was a lie - she gave me this look and walked out of the store.

I was left to run after her and tell her I was just kidding. Her reponse?

You don't do things like that Mom. That's almost sacreligious!

She did not think it was funny!

I think my husband (AZDisneyDan) posted on here a few weeks ago letting you all know we are on your cruise too!

I have a question about Olbia, if anyone can help, we want to go to the beach on our own and understand some people are planning the same, does anyone know where to go? What bus to take? How to get to the best beach? We were in a book store looking at a book on Sardinia and we tried figuring it out-sounds like Costa Smeralda is pretty close but we couldn't figure out if there is a bus from port to there? Anyone have any info on this?
