I hope Sallie's DH is laughing............. SORRY JIMMY!

I havent seen him laugh since he started getting the bills for all our trip "STUFF"- He just keeps roaming around saying...."POOR ANDREW ...and recently added..... " YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER ARE GOING TO BANKRUPT ME"

Fyi - packed one whole bag with my "DIS" stuff, so I wouldn't have to open it in Barcelona, put in our FE gifts, FE's, group swap gifts, door magnets - 56 pounds!!!!! I will have to rebalance or get charge for overweight bags! And I just bought that new super lightweight tumi.

I wish I could take my DIS stuff in my carry on - I am WORRIED about that bag not making it there!!! I actually got it all ready to go to be shipped, but that company that's handling the "ship stuff to the ship" didnt have anyone that speaks english! We tried sending emails, could never really get anywhere. Plus, just the shipping would have been about 400. dollars.

So...I'm checking my "DIS" bag and keeping my fingers crossed. It represents days and days of preparation!

I lost my dad in 99 and I miss him so much. I was thinking about this just last night. My dad passed while he still loved me (both of his other daughters passed before him...my sisters) just about more than anything in his life.

I guess I have decided the hard time my mom has been giving me is not how she really feels (she used to really show her love for me)...but the dislike I feel now from her...may be because of her age.

That is so hard for me to take....

Most of us, have had some form of this happen with our loved ones, you are a wonderful daughter !

You obviously care so much, just try to enjoy this "once in a lifetime" trip, the rest will be waiting when you return........The DISers will do our best to distract you!

Question- The doctor gave me a prescription for sea sick patches. We have been on 3 cruise and didn't really have a problem except when the seas were rough- he said to put them on a few hours before we board... I hate to do it if we wont be sick, but if I dont put them on - and we do feel sick will they still work if used after we already feel sick????

I bought it and plan to use it, although I never had before. Generally I just try to nap or doze on the plane and then stay up the first day in Europe until at least 8 or 9 local time, and by the following day I generally feel pretty normal. But I thought I'd buy and try the No Jet Lag anyway just to see if it will help.

I purchased some melatonin - we'll see if that works.

A friend of a friend did this cruise in June. My friend told me that her friend who went lost every piece of luggage for the entire family (6 pieces) (so much for cross packing....did not help them much at least at first). As the trip progressed, 5 pieces made it to them along the way. The one piece that never turned up was the mom's piece....the one with the jewelery and all the new outfits she spent days and days shopping for.

I think I am not going to bother to pack at all and just tell everyone that my suitcase was lost...I will just be happy wearing the same thing every day with a good excuse....

My carryon has a pair of underwear and a shirt for everyone, bathing suits for the kids and DH and our meds and chargers.

Just a few last minute things today - take the horses to a stable, take the dogs to a kennel, pick up some spray bottles, online checkin with airlines and clean the house!!

Can't really say as I'm packed, but I have a lot of stuff out right now in semi-organized piles. There is decidedly a difference in shopping for DS (Target) and DD (Macy's) . I have the list out and everytime we go to the store I get something, but haven't started crossing anything off yet.

I'm planning on putting our underthings & smaller items in gallon ziploc bags with our names on them so all we have to do is pull them out of the suitcases. Your kids might appreciate that for their stuff. (ahhh, brings back memories of my brother & me when we were much younger..... my poor parents)

DisneySpirit gave me the details of his excursions, so now they're included. As you guys remember, Tom & Lynn are the ones who luckily missed out on the last cruise because of passport issues (they're passport didn't want to leave Starbucks in Phoenix when they were already in Atlanta) so that they could come with US!

So, we leave tomorrow morning - leave the house about 5:00 am - I can't believe it!! I packed last night - that was a drag!! I probably could have fit everything into 3 suitcases, but the weight was an issue - and 2 of the cases are new, lightweight ones!!

I'm afraid that I will have the same issues with our luggage. And I have to keep in mind that my cousins in Spain have tiny cars that really aren't made to accommodate people AND a ton of luggage.

I thought I heard 3 days before, I think I would call the reservations people and ask them their advice........I would think that some spot would open up in the next few days. Maybe you could ask if you can cancel after the 3 days if the last spot doesn't open up?

I heard the same thing. You'll need to cancel 3 days before the cruise, but JoAnne gives great advice.
