Finally have finalized the rest of our rebooking for this cruise. We will be arriving on the 27th and staying at th AC Barcelona hotel. Have transfers thru Disney from airport to hotel, hotel to ship, and ship back to airport on day of departure. At least we will get to see some of Barcelona. Here's hoping for warmer weather and calmer seas!

We are also DVC members and own at OKW and BCV. We have only stayed at OKW and BWVs. I can't wait to try them all. My dd and I are going to WDW at the Wide World of Sports - my dd has a track meet there AAU Nationals something. We will be there the first week of July. I tried to get something for any dvc resort - but being it's a holiday week - nothing was available. I think we will book the CBR. (They have rooms blocked here and the All Star Sports at a discounted price).

I thought about that - until she got me that two weeks ago at the Volunteer Tea.

I might fall back on the great - Visa gift card.

Honestly, gift cards are great. Over the years, it's amazing how many things you collect. Although I do have to say, when I look at an apple pencil holder, wall hanging, etc., I can picture the student like it was yesterday. But if in doubt, go with the gift card.

Lots of family stuff going on my brother's wife's mother died yesterday and I was with my mum because her brother had been taken to hospital and it would have been too long a drive for my step father to have taken her to the hospital on the Isle of Wight, so lots of taxiing people around and saying comforting stuff.
I see there has been all sorts of Pirate shenanagins whilst I've been away. Play nicely tonight everyone.

Need help from all the teachers.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, and I can't believe that this year I haven't made anything for the two teachers. usually I make something personal or fun. Examples - Bought some pencil holders and decorated them in fabric that matched their personality. Got photos from all the kids and made a photobook online at Kodak.com. Had the kids make a wicker basket. had the kids make candles for the baskets.

So......

i need some ideas. And i need to be able to buy whatever it is tonight!!

Congrats.............too funny that you won on a normal post!! My suggestion is anything that tells the teacher (if you feel that way) that your child thanks them for their year together.........that's what is really special to me!

For all the DVC members, did you check out the Animal Kingdom Villas promos that came out recently?

I was showing them to DH last night. Although it will be a few years before they are 100%, they look really cool. We belong to Saratoga Springs, but I've always said that when we finally take that first trip to DW, I want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge over looking the Savanah. We were going to go this year, but then the cruise came up and we opted for that instead.

We bought some more points there - it does look really awesome!!

So sorry about that. They are lucky to have you around for support. I wouldn't worry about us. family 1st, disney 2nd, work 3rd.

I guess so. She's a newlywed, so I'm sure that would help. As for the other teacher...We have a tradition of getting our oldest son's teachers gift cards. Sorta a way to 'pay them back' for all they put up with during the year. Having a kid like him in a class is quite the challenge. At least I can say it has opened up their eyes, and they are incorporating more Autistic kids in regular ed classrooms.

Good job on the priorities!

Is your son high functioning? My daughter just did a sophomore research paper on mainstreaming. It was really good. She does a lot of volunteer work with kids who have different handicaps - anything from ADHD to Downs Syndrome. Way more patience than her mom!!

We have alot of "Asberger's" students at my school so I do understand what an autistic child is like...........best wishes............ ...I have found those that I've worked with to be very special and intriguing.......

As of today........2 weeks to go..........major heat wave & humidity....I do have a wonderful class...........BUT THIS WEATHER WILL HELP ME SAY GOODBYE FOR SURE! ....I received the BEST "thank you" email today!! So I'll stop complaining for a while!

So.....guess what??? I was asked to go to a teacher workshop on August 6th.....bummer............I'LL BE on the Magic that day!!!!!!!!

It's not all it's "quacked" up to be. I remember vaguely about a seminar where we had to come up with a bunch of alternative uses for baking soda or something. Somewhere in my mess of photos I have a photo from graduation. They gave us mouse ears with a mortarboard.

Here is something fun. It's Dis trivia from our training that has stuck with me ... it's an easy way to remember the names of the Seven Dwarfs:

My son is playing in a baseball tournament at Disney the first week of July and he and my DH are staying at the Wide World Of Sports too. We used up all our DVC point on the cruise so I have to pay for it all!!!!!
