that's a good question. i would think that you would bring your luggage to the motor coach and then disney would see that it got to your stateroom. hopefully we will have good security at our hotel because our flight gets in at 8:50am and check in at the hotel is at 3pm. our check out is 11am, so i think they would take us directly to the ship. i also plan on locking everything so maybe that will deter some people. i'm trying not to think of someone stealing my luggage. i will have my outfits for friday and saturday in my carry on bag.

It will be interesting to see what the May 26th cruisers post. Maybe, DCL will have us carry our luggage to the bus or maybe they will have us deposit luggage at the DCL desk?:confused3 I kind of don't want to leave my luggage anywhere.

Congrats to

I think a bit too much fluff has set in, nice to read the last hundred pages since last night!

Hi Andrew

Just had to take a look at what was going on !!!

David

Hello nice to see you over here

That was hilarious that Andrew's kids got the major pirate award!!

I notice that if I post back to back it doesn't look like the post count changes - I'm confused
Also, where do you get the counts by thread? I know I read that somewhere, but I can't remember where. This is where most of my posting is done - but I have a few others that I keep touch on.
They have freinds ( relative) in high places.

Andrew you said you were watching the BAFTas, :happytv:
Yes, my kids were not!
It's hilarious until you realize....WAS IT REALLY HIS KIDS?????

Andrew's one sneaky pirate: I tell you - And he was quick on that TAKE WHAT YOU CAN AND GIVE NOTHING BACK!

Carrie, ANDREW (see blame him - he does at our other thread :lmao: :lmao: ) explained it to me. At the beginning, where you find our thread, at the right hand side is listed REPLIES column? Well if you click on the underline in the replies column for our thread, you get a new window opens that tells you the DIS member and the total posts in that thread.

Hope this helps - its fun to keep tally! : But be warned - it's ADDICTING!
:sad2:
Good luck Andrew for tomorrow
;)

Lynn,

Congrats on 800!!!!

Andrew,

Best of luck with the testing tomorrow.

Sallie,
Have you seen what's been going on here??????

What some people will do around here just to get a pirate!!!!!!
Thanks went well today results Wednesday eve.

Andrew - Good luck tomorrow.
Thanks
well whose gonna steal it this time!!!
I hope Andrew's kids are in bed:rotfl:
I was in bed as well
Will I be early or late

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
This is my 400th post on this thread :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Congrats
Congrats Helen on 400 (and counting).

Congrats Lynn on 3100. (Now you still just have to beat Laura)
Congrats
Seriously, Andrew, best wishes on your check-up tomorrow!:grouphug:
Thanks
Andrew, I didn't get your paypal:confused3

I'm still back on page 198, reading forward.

I just set it up my first one, wait two days, I will check

Have I mad another pirate yet??? Oh I didn't realise:rolleyes1 :flower3:
pirate:
Great pics Helen. You are a handsome couple.
Agree
Ok, I've updated the lanyard post with who I have received payment from via paypal and who said they are sending a check. Let me know if I've missed anyone.

Andrew, I don't know what happened to your paypal payment. I never got it. Did you send to kylarice ("at" sign) worldnet.att.net? I don't want to use @ because the spammers pick up on email addresses being posted. Hope you doing OK with your MRI.

Give it two days, new set up and to USA from UK

I'm back............just catching up.........see you later!!

ok, got it, two days. Yes, I think paypal does take a couple of days to set up.

Ok, I never noticed this before. There is a smilies pulldown menu on the message window, right next to the Font pulldown menu. I wonder why they have that there when you have the bigger smilies menu on the right?

Anyone get their refund yet from Disney when they downgraded to category 12?

I wonder when we will know what cabin we are in? I'm thinking we'll know about a month out.

My credit showed up on my credit card this weekend!!

My Disneycruise site still does not have a cabin #.....

Still waiting for the refund from the cancelled airline tickets.....

Since we'll be in London for 4 days, then Barcelona for 2 days, I think we will be ready for laundry cleaning on the first sea day or maybe even the first nite on the boat.:laundy:

The day you get on the ship will be a GREAT day to do the laundry.....mostly the machines will be full most of the time. I usually get up at about 5am one morning to do laundry and never have to wait. We for sure will be doing laundry, I have told the kids we are not bringing very much....
Lisa

OMG!!

You guys have been way to chatty!! I was so busy this weekend and I am so exhausted now.

It is 1:30pm EDT and I am supossed to be working......I just read 20-30 pages and it took me about 1 hour!!

By the time I get caught up on where I left off from yesterday---whew!!! I am almost to tired to post!

I am home all the time---except when we are off the the baseball field, and I can't seem to catch up on anything! I don't know why:rolleyes1

I still cannot get a picture to post:confused: , but I did manage to send money to Kayla so I have accomplished one thing even if I have done no:laundy: ! That can wait!

We usually each take 2 suitcases checked and one carryon. My dh really hates the carryon, but it can not be avoided. I want to bring the laptop, but I don't know how much time we will really use it because we will be so busy. That will be a last minute decision I am sure!

Hope all went well for you, Andrew.

Sallie, hope your cat is better.

At least we are having warmer weather today and hope everyone else is too.

See you soon!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, good idea doing the first nite on the boat. We'll have to wait until our suitcases arrive, but maybe we should carry our dirty laundry in our carryone and head straight for the machines:laundy:

I will tell you the quick story of my weekend.......

Georgetown (DC) graduation was this weekend. (SAturday Morning) My nephew (who I have helped raise) graduated!! We were all so excited!! (Drew will be on this cruise with us as his graduation present!!)

Gretchen (DD10) had her dance competion. 3,000 kids competing!! OMG!!
It was so very overwhelming to me. My two older kids are "normal" kids. Gretchen is just different. She thrives on this stuff.....and it just about kills me.

Well, Saturday evening was good. It was pretty short (4pm -9pm) and Gretchen ended up with 2 gold metals!!

Sunday was so much longer. We got up and went to church (Drew's younger brother and sister, my niece DN19 and nephew DN17) showed up at my house at 11pm Sat wanting a place to sleep....they were leaving for SC by 8am.

We all went to Starbucks.....me and 5 children!! Had a grand time ....DN19 and DN17 off to SC and me and 3 kids off to church.

Me and DD10 Gretchen left church early and off to competion.....11am till
9pm last night......

First 2 dances went awesome!! Two more gold medals......then 4 hours of wait time......that did Gretchen in I am afraid.

The last dance was a duo tap. The little girl she dances with may be the best dancer I have ever seen.....everyone on the team was counting on them.

Gretchen went BLANK......she could not Dance....OMG......I felt so sorry for her up on that stage with about 1,000 watching her....(I could not more do that than the "man in the Moon". )

You know what, she put a great big smile on her face and started making something up, just doing the best she could. That was the longest 3 minutes of my life. I was sitting with her partners mom.....and she was just about to have a cow. Gretchen finished.....but boy was she upset.....it was 1 1/2 for awards.....she cried (and she NEVER cries.....nothing bothers her) just about the whole time.

I tried all my mom tricks....."you're only 10", "everyone messes up once and a while" and "I love you so much, that is all that matters" you guys all know the routine....did not really work...

Anyway, I was proud of her going for her awards..(she was like "we are going to get a bronze"......"I can't believe it...")

Well, the judges gave them GOLD and 1st place in their age group!! I guess her faking is pretty good......or the judges were just too tired to notice!!

So not many post for me. I am glad you guys had fun!!

Hope all went well for you, Andrew.
Thank you

Congrats on the golds sorry to hear it didnt all work out for her was hard.

So how many suitcases is everyone bringing? DH says we should just bring one:scared1: . I'm thinking two for sure. I'll try really hard for one but what I might do is fit one suitcase insid another and see if I can get away with that. So have one going and two coming back.

Well - we are bringing only one suit case per person. But I am folding up a duffel bag inside of each one for the ride back home.

We were also considering just bringing two large ones. But we too are flying BA and they are pretty strict on weight and size. I know a person that actually had them pull out a measuring tape. He had expanded his bag (zipper around the top edge to give you two more inches) and he ended up having to re-zip it.

My other concern is water. When I went to India, we could take liquids on planes, so I carried 5 1-liter bottles with me in my day pack. And I packed a few smaller ones in my bags. it left room for stuff on the way back, but water is heavy. If we take 4 bags, or the 8 maximum we can take. I might then be able to put in a whole case of water.

Hmmm - where's the scale at????? Need to weigh a bottle of water...

I'm so glad she got the gold - It must have been really hard for her on stage

The water is fine in Europe, and the DM will sell it on board

OK let's see if I can remember all these:

I found that for me the secret to success in poker is to play on a weekend, with a bunch of beginners who are drunk.

On a related note, I'm still wrestling with the Monte Carlo excursions. Right now I'm planning on taking the day tour of Monte Carlo that includes a visit to the casino. A few people in my group are planning on the evening visit. I wonder if anyone has thoughts on the matter?

Your funny AND SMART!

As to the gambling - DH and I decided that we need time away from DD-14. She's on every excursion with us and since we already have to dress up (I believe that is either semi-formal but may be pirate - have to double check) - figured might as well be off. I also figure that you can't be that close to such a famous location and NOT go. For us - that would be sacriligious! I must admit - we do like to go to Vegas and I especially love it when DH wins. Although this time, New Years was especially kind to both of us - that is how we paid for so many deposits!

Have I mad another pirate yet??? Oh I didn't realise:rolleyes1

:rolleyes1 Helen - your too funny - and yet - somehow I get the blame. But you did as a true pirate - took what you could and since no one was around - good for you! :thumbsup2

i chose the evening casino because i thought it would be nice to dress up and hang out with the high rollers.

My sentiments exactly. As adults, we don't get to dress up too much and since everyone on board will have seen my 1 dressy dress twice already - figured I'll "expand my horizons" and allow others to see it. :rotfl2: Just kidding - I know we'll be tired but :ssst: (OK - I'm going to say this hope the ::MickeyMo isn't the fly on the wall.) sometimes I get too tired of ::MickeyMo :scared1: and just need a break. My smile won't work 24/7.

Sallie,

(And you should hear what they've been been saying about you flashing and all- and in church no less - tee hee:rotfl2: )

In all fairness, :flower3: , I just quoted what she said - she actually mentioned it first (Sallie - you know we  you - seriously hope your kitty is ok :grouphug: and :pixiedust: to you and yours)

I saw previously the instructions on posting pictures. And it included creating an account somewhere.

But I am wondering, does anyone know if there are rules that apply to posting a picture?

Do you have to have a minimum number of posts?

Not 100% sure on that but I seem to recall that
1. You have to create an acct elsewhere or download to the picture location on DIS and

2. I thought you had to wait until a certain amt of posts. Not positive since its been a while and I did lose my first account due to my slipping mind. :flower3:

to do some

posting catchup

And she joins in the fun! :lmao:

You guys seem to know when one is coming up and swarm in like killer bees

Yeah - amazing how that happens huh? I always forget to check on the post numbers when I sign on - so any pirate: I get or will get is purely coincidental unless I happen to see the pirate: run in progress.

So how many suitcases is everyone bringing? DH says we should just bring one :scared1: . I'm thinking two for sure. I'll try really hard for one

Unfortunately, :sad1: we're flying British Airways and their regulations are: 1 checked baggage <40 lbs. and 1 Carryon (with size restrictions - lost them somewhere) <13 lbs. Anything over the # restrictions on check-in is an additional $25 for the first 20 and $110 for a 2nd suitcase. Not sure on what the carry-on would be. As you say - I'm trying really hard too. :sad2:

i'm checking 2 suitcases and bringing 1 carryon suitcase and 1 carryon rolling tote. i plan on dividing my clothes up per day just in case something happens to one suitcase.

Yeah - have to go shopping - am really trying to do what Rick Steve's says - if you can't use it 3 times -drop it. I;m mixing and matching everything - hence the 1 semi/formal dress. Figured I can dress it up with accessories.

i'm trying not to think of someone stealing my luggage. i will have my outfits for friday and saturday in my carry on bag.

I have seen some photos of rooms broken into on expedia and travelocity when I was doing research. Travelers came back to a room and in 1 case - the whole room safe was taken - yanked right off the wall! :scared1: This scared me - what if they take my laptop - that's our life and company. Seriously considering not taking it but we'll be gone for 20 days and that's too long to be gone w/o one. So the hotel we got has a room safe and a safety deposit box in the hotel lobby. Figured between the 2 it may be safe.

Ok - that's if for now - DH is getting grouchy - must feed him since he bought last night! ;)

 all!

SORRY everybody - next time I promise not too quote so much - this is hard.

I need to figure out how to weigh my luggage. Duffle bag sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of fitting in a smaller framed suitcase inside each other, but duffle bag is a better idea.

Laura,
on my ticket info for BA, it says right on there that I get two pieces of checked luggage <51 lbs. My sisters kept telling me that I only get one. So I called and they said yes, I get two pieces of luggage because I'm coming from the americas.
