July 26...who's coming with me???

Penny...me and dd are planning on doing parasailing at castaway cay. Have you read the thread on parasailing?? Seems like it will be a blast...and Disney is so cautious I am sure it's very safe!

It will be a blast.....would be great if we could go on same boat if you go to take pics of each other.

Marie

We are also on the July 26 th, myself, DH, DS15 and DD10. This is our 2nd Disney cruise and I also wasn't sure about the teen LOVING it, but he really did. We are all very excited. My DD10 has been e-mailing a little girl from Wisconsin and she's having the best time. If any of your daughters would like to "meet" Morgan, let me know. Looking forward to the Magic!!!!!! We are traveling with three other families with children ages 5-16.

aperfecttrip----my DD 12 has been emailing with KerriL and MBFergies DD's (I believe) and she thinks it's just great "chatting" about the upcoming cruise & making friends so I am sure she'd enjoy "meeting" your DD. I will PM you with her email.

Marie----yes, I've been following that thread quite a bit! At first I was sure I was going parasailing until I read the "600-1000" feet notation AND saw the picture one of the posters to that thread had linked. You know, the one where the he is up in the sky and the boat is SOOOOO tiny! :p  I started having 2nd & 3rd thoughts after that! Hopefully I will get my nerve up by then and go. If so, I like your idea of taking pictures for each other. Are you booking it early or waiting until you get there?

Anyone else with thoughts on what they're planning for the July 26 cruise?? Love to hear from you all on what your plans are. It's fun reading others thoughts & input. :)

We are doing St Maarten on our own. We're renting a car and are going to go horseback riding, maybe the butterfly farm and do a little shopping.

On St Thomas we're doing Captain Nautica's in the morning and are going to explore on our own in the afternoon.

Hey all,

I booked my excursions....Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten at 7:45am (yuck I hate mornings..hope they have coffee!!). My DH and DS are going to do the Atlantis Submarine trip at 12:50pm in St. Thomas. Hopefully we will get off the ship early enough we can go over to St. John's for 1-2 hours, if we get off late then we will go to one of the beaches closer by.

Now you ask, why am I bummed out...the parasailing on Castaway Cay is sold out already. (Penny you no longer have to agonize if you should go or not.) My daughter is really going to be upset. Since we live 20 minutes from beaches in FL and they have parasailing around here I could go here, but really wanted to do it at Castaway Cay!! Fort Lauderdale is boring!!! Since that was sold out I scheduled the Banana Boat Ride for us at 11:30am. Because they have the birthdates of everybody, I couldn't pass my son off for being 8 (he's a tall/big kid!!) so he can't go.

Does anybody know if you get the tubes at Castaway Cay if you have to stand in a shorter line when you get there?? I didn't reserve any of them or bikes...should I?

I also called this morning about parasailing in Castaway Cay. My 85 yo grandmother wants to do it with my son and I was determined to get her a spot. I must have gotten lucky b/c the CM kept searching and telling me "no, that time is sold out too". Finally they had two spots available for 1:30 and two for 3:30 so I booked my grandmother and DS at 1:30 and my DH and other DS on the 3:30. I knew I got lucky to find those slots but I didn't know how lucky until I read your post. I can't believe that excursions just opened Tuesday for booking and they are all gone already. Glad I didn't wait.

We will be on the 7:45 Golden Eagle Catamaran also. There are 14 in our party.

We got the 3:30 time slot too for parasailing!! I am sooooo excited!! Thank you for telling me you got in...I called back and got a wonderful person to really search it for me!! If you all want to go together at 3:30 let me know and I will switch times with you.

:earseek: :sunny: :earseek: :sunny: :earseek:

I was so excited I forgot to ask you the ages in your group. I think I remember you have 2 sons 11 & 8, we know about your adventurious grandmother, you and dh. Let us know about the others. My DD is 12 and DS is 7.

Oh, my gosh-if you would switch times with us that would be awesome. I wanted to get some video of grandmaw parasailing and was disappointed when I had to split the parasailing times. Do you know how we would go about switching? Do we wait until we get on the boat and do it at the excursion desk?

As for the make up of our party, we have 13 adults, 2-3yr old boys, 6 yr old girl, 2-8yr old boys, 11 yr old boy and 12 yr old girl. I think that is it. We are traveling with friends and family who are traveling with friends and family so I don't know everyone real well.

We are also sailing on the Magic July 26 with DH, DS (14), DD (12), and DD (10). We can't wait. We were on the Magic 4 years ago when it was 4 days and absolutely loved it!!! Can't wait for that 7 days. We booked the parasailing on Castaway Cay -- my kids can't wait. I can't believe it's already sold out. We also booked the 12 meter Regatta race. I've read that it's supposed to be lots of fun. Looking forward to all that Magic.

Welcome Lynne, so far I think on this site there are now four 12 year old girls, plus 1 from disneylove2shop's group. My daughter has been emailing (not too much lately..final study time is upon us) 2 of the other girls and would love to email with your daughter if she is interested. You can send me her email address at MBFergie@aol.com or just give me yours and I will email you her address.

Disneyborn2shop...what is your first name..that is too long to type. Anyway, I will call the excursion desk tomorrow to ask them how we would do it. Maybe we can do a conference call between me, you and DCL. I will let you know.... Also, if the 12 yo girl would like to meet the others girls, give her my email address or have her parents email me and I will give them my daughter's email address.

MBFergie-

My name is Dawn. That is a lot shorter, huh? A conference call would work. Whatever they need. Just let me know.

I told my DH that hanging on this board all the time has its rewards.

I will ask my friends about their 12yo DD but she is very shy. I had asked them once before and she really wasn't interested.

Well, as stated by MBFergie---I guess the agonizing over to parasail or not to parasail is now over for me!! Well, guess I'll just have to go ahead and do the spa instead. :)

Glad several of you were able to work it out and get your ressies. I did go to a website for shore excursions on St. Thomas & St. Martin and can still book that way for parasailing if I change my mind--if anyone else is interested, let me know and I'll get more info for you.

Happy Planning!

Hey all,

Question for you veteran cruisers-----how bad is this? Anyone cruise before when the ship was full?

Guess I shouldn't be surprised since it is the summer season!

I just checked DCL's webisite, travelocity and expedia and all three showed availability on our cruise. I sure hope DCL was wrong about being completely booked. We were hoping to try and change rooms at port as our room is listed as the "noisiest" on everyone's website. DVC will charge me $75 to change.

Oh, well, we are are heavy sleepers anyway!

i check dcl and my computer says its booked up...then i tried travelocity and expedia...they had rooms...so since i am bored i called dcl and they said some agencies book blocks of rooms and they may still be available.

i was hoping to get my room switched too...what room # are you in that it's noisy??

I called DCL today and they said we can do the switch when we get onboard. We will have to set up a time to go to the excursion desk together and they will do it then.

We are also on deck to in a noisy room...I really wanted the veranda but we are going on the florida resident rates and the price difference was more then double. I have this cool eye mask that also plays soft ocean sounds...guess I might be needing them!!

Hope all is well with everyone!!
