Since FB my posts have been less but I still love this place for the memories of my first cyber-friends!. :grouphug:

Getting pretty excited about our trip, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do in Vancouver. My son is having a birthday while we are in Vancouver, and he loves to fish. I think I'm going to try to get some type of fishing boat excursion for his big day. Also, we are wanting to do the aquarium, Grouse Mountain and the suspension bridge during some portion of our time in Vancouver. What is everyone else planning for Vancouver? We arrive there on Saturday, so we'll have a few days to explore.:thumbsup2

We plan to do those activities too. I also have Stanley Park and Granville Island on the list. Still need to look into whale watching trip, Science World and Vancouver Zoo.

Not sure if the whale watching is okay there or better in Alaska. :confused3

We've been sailing on the Magic only recently. I thought they got rid of the Golden Mickeys show. Is it still on the Wonder? What are the other shows they normally have?

This info came from a TA who got it from DCL. They have a new Toy Story show but other than that I don't know what they will be offering. We will hear soon though from those that are on the first Alaska cruise.

Ok Everyone, where are you all staying in Vancouver. We are flying in on Westjet on the 25th and will need a hotel for the night.....HELP!!

We are staying in Seattle the night before the cruise and renting a car to drive to the Port. We are estimating 3-5 hours - any better ideas? We'd like to plan to be early just in case we run into problems on the way - delays at the border or something. But also if we can get on the ship earlier than later, we can enjoy more time on board as well.

So Wednesday is the 90-day mark for us Silver members, right? Is it Midnight Eastern Time when we can make the reservations?

Can anyone who is Gold check and see what if anything is sold out as of today or tomorrow? I'm thinking that would be a much shorter list than what is available.

Hi! We have reservations on the 25th at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport then we plan on taking the DCL transfer to the port on the 26th. This is the cheapest of the hotels that you can book through DCL. Not really thrilled about spending the night at the hotel but just couldn't justify the extra expense of staying at one of the ones closer to the port. And it's supposed to be a really nice hotel, I guess.

Site is finally back up! :confused3

Palo was wide open!!!! Got dinner, brunch & tea!:woohoo:

Working on excursions now....

Okay - this is annoying!

They won't let you book excursions with only one hour between them - they say they conflict. Grrrrrrr!

Where is everyone??? Did anyone else have trouble with excursions today? Did you get everything you hoped for? I didn't see much that was sold out.

Is it possible that the ship is filled with all first-time cruisers this time around? I would have thought that it would have been harder to get Palo and excursions with a fairly full ship like this...:confused3

I was worried too.....only being a lowly silver! I set my alarm for midnight, got up, logged on, and was denied! So, when my husband left for work this morning at 5:30 I got back on. Got Palo brunch, Whale Watch with Mendenhall Glacier and White Pass and Yukon RR. It really did look like almost everything was still available. I'm glad for some of the first timers.....can't imagine going on your first cruise and not being able to book anything!

I'm still debating on whether I want a spa treatment. I may leave that to book on the ship and see if I can get any really good deals.......

What is everyone else doing for excursions?

I was not able to get my first choice in Ketchikan. I can't complain though. They had so many great excursions. I got my second choice and it is good. High tea was also not available.
