July 26, 2011 – 7 Night Alaska ~ Bears, Whales, Eagles and Ducks. Oh My!

It's difficult to think much about this cruise just yet ... especially with our setting sail on the TA in about 10 days!

Penny I did send a photo from Christmas at WDW for now. I'll be sure to send you one from the TA though.

Brack you could take a book on Alaska on the TA cruise, lol.

Hi everyone. We just booked this cruise. Now I don't know where to start. Decisions, decisions, do we fly into Vancouver and when? How do we get to the port? Guess I'll have to read this thread to get some info. I am excited, I have wanted to see Alaska for a long time.

Welcome aboard, Judy!!! Will be glad to see you again. We have not done a lot of planning yet. Dennis and I have the WBTA that we are concentrating on and Brack and Annette are just now on the EBTA. This fall the planning should start in earnest!

Oh good!!!!! :grouphug: Friends onboard! We still have a December cruise to work on. So maybe after that, big planning.
We are hoping to book our flight on miles when that window opens up.

Welcome Judy,

Head to the group website, DIS_DCL_ALASKA_07_26_11 Website the planning page has some great links to DIS posts on Vancouver and such.

The news page is just me rambling, but comments are very welcome.

Also post 1 has some great info as well.

 ... or some old movies like "North to Alaska" or "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" :surfweb:

Brack,

I need another post for the news section of the website. Can you find some more movies? (when you get home, lol)

Thanks:worship:

Welcome Judy! It is great to be sailing with you again.

Just back from the TA to Barcelona :worship: It was great to spend two weeks on the Magic AND 6 straight days at sea!

We rebooked this cruise to save a few hundred dollars plus get some room credit. :cool2: Plus our DS and DDIL also booked this cruise.

Our plan is to either go early for a week in Vancouver or stay a week after. We'll see which one works better. Might use some DVC points for the stay.

We also booked a 4 day on the Dream in February :cheer2: .... just had to check it out.

Brack! Welcome back. We cannot wait to get on board to bring her home. We hope to save some $$ and get some OBC by rebooking in Sept while on board also. When in Feb are you cruising? We would LOVE to get on the Dream, but 4 days just seems so short. Maybe B2B.

Angie, I did the four day to re-set my cruise clock and it was good, because it had a sea day. But the three day we did on the $99 deal, is not something I ever want to do again. It was way to short.

You know its been a while when you DST time zone change flashes from signing on. Welcome back Brack!! I am heads down with work but can see there is a lot of things I need to look into. You know things are bad when your child is coaching you about the trip. Ah well. In the meanwhile I hope you are all well!!
