what are the green shirts for?
Wearing of the lime green shirts and using the 'alien green' mickey head paint chip from Home Depot (on door magnets, name badges, etc) signify that you are a member of the DISboards :grouphug:

Movies on board? Does anyone know what is playing? My oldest wants to see Herbie, but doesn't know if we should catch it here or wait for the boat.

I don't have lime green, can we still come to the MEET the Dis people party? Still new here but would love to meet others.

TIA

I read that you can contact DCL this week to see what movies are playing..I am not sure if it is true or not but I am going to try.

You are still more then welcome to join the meet. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

One week!

Today I got the kids their pirate costumes. My DD5 has been wearing hers all afternoon. She's already in the pirate spirit! My DS11 is a more reluctant pirate, although he does like his sword and pirate pistol.

Tomorrow I'm going to check Home Depot for the Alien Green Mickey Heads and then head off to find magnets. I'm giving up on the lime green shirt. I might just have to settle for aqua at this rate. Lime is not my color anyway!

7 days and I am excited and stressed all at the same time. I feel like there is still so much to do! Can't wait to meet you all.

There is a post from someone that just got off the boat that said the weather could have been better but did not go into detail---so I have asked what that meant and as soon as I find out I will let you know. Someone did respond to him and said that they were on the cruise the week before and Friday was cold!
i have no clue what to pack now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked the weather for the 10 day outlook at the ports and they were all in the upper 80s and low 90s. Puerto Vallarta showed 90 degrees and thunder storms.

Keeping fingers crossed that they weather becomes nice!

Just pack regularly but just add some sweatshirts and jeans.

I survived in New York in the rain in March in tshirts, sweatshirts, and jeans, and I live in California which never has freezing cold rain in the part I lived in, so you'd do just fine in jeans and sweatshirts. For the day, though, maybe bring a hooded zippered sweatshirt, the thinner variety, so if you get hot it won't be so bulky as an actual sweatshirt to carry around.

I don't see how the weather can be cold- here its 90 degrees. Anything below 60 degrees is cold. In the 60 degree zone its a little chilly, but otherwise nice in the night. Heck, I'd be GLAD if it got cold at night after sleeping in 91.5 degree rooms for a week.

I was wondering, does anyone know the movies they're showing on the cruise? And since Sky High is going to come out while we're on the cruise, will we be able to see it?

I called DCL. Here is a list of the movies they had listed for our cruise:

Herbie
Brother Bear
Finding Nemo
Ladder 49
The Incredibles
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Pirates of the Carribean
and... Sky High (as it prem-"ears" on land)

Less then a week to go!

Desiree

Thanks so much, my family is super excited now, especially my mom because she hasn't seen any of those movies except for Finding Nemo. I sorta think that's funny. =)

Hello fellow DC'ers, My wife & I went shopping yesterday.... there's nothing left at the stores.  We bought a our pirate costumes, so we're ready for pirate night. I broke down and bought a Tux at Burrlington Coat Factory. ($100.. pretty cheap) We are looking forward to meeting ya'll on Sun. :hourglass It must be so exciting for those of you that has been planing this all year :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :cheer2: :cool1:
We've just been planing for about 2weeks. :Pinkbounc  :bounce:
I've been playing around with some door signs, just not sure on how much I want to do. I know one for sure...Our Anniversary sign. I can't forget that one. Question: Has anyone ever gone to the church service on the ship?
If so, was it ok or what? Countin' down ::MickeyMo Vern

Here is a weather report from two different people that were on the July 9th cruise.
First person:
WEATHER - We have done the mexican cruise before and weather has been better. However, it always seems like it is a bit chilly the first day, and then the last day is a bit chilly and windy. This trip, we did get more overcast weather and some rain during the cruise, mostly in P.V. Mazatlan was cloudy in the morning, then warmed up. Cabo was nice, a bit cooler than Mazatlan but still nice beach weather. We never needed a sweater - it wasn't that cold (except depart day). Just not clear skies.
Second person:
For us, the first day (Sunday) was definitely chilly enough for a sweater. We were freezing!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Has anyone heard recently about the jellyfish on the beaches. We are scheduled to do the Paradise Beach adventure but are not sure if the beach will not be available. I do not want to go anywhere near the jellyfish as my son (4 at the time) was stung last year in Hawaii and it was quite an ordeal.

Please let me know whatever info you may have.

If you check the cruise reports thread you can read the recent report by calmom. She and her family just got back from the July 9 cruise and it sounds like the jelly fish are still a big problem in P.V. and Mazatlan. They were unable to snorkle in P.V. and her son was stung walking on the beach in Mazatlan. We also have the Paradise Beach tour scheduled, but I am having second thoughts. If we go, we might just stick to the pool and the sand area by the beach chairs.

We were thinking of doing the same thing. I will check and thanks for the advice.

Hi all! Here is the weather report I got from the July 9th cruise.

Sunday (at sea) I wore capris on this day and had to pull out my light jacket.
Friday (at sea) - I wore shorts on this day and didn't need my jacket but I didn't go up on deck very much either.

Now here is a report from someone that just boarded the boat yesterday---he is giving a live report so if you have any questions for him go to his thread-
--Just a tip bring a jacket or wrap for nights on because on deck and even at dinner it is chilly, at least to me.
Also read from another thread that people were buying Disney sweatshirt jackets on Sunday the previous cruise.
So I am adding more clothes to the packing stack!!!!!!!!!!

Church---there is a church service on the boat on Sunday around 8a.m.-8:30--Have not gone to it so can't say how it is.
Jellyfish--I have read everywhere too about PV and Maz having jellyfish. I have yet to see that jellyfish are in Cabo. So Cabo sounds like the place to go to the beach!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am not sure how cool it will be on sea days but the weather report for our ports call for high humidity, high 80's and scattered thunderstorms.

I am packing a sweater/light jacket for each of us as a precaution.

:rolleyes1 Just waiting for our ship to come in!

Desiree

Except for our formal/semi formal clothes (which have to be put in a suiter sp?) and our last minute toiletries (toothbrush etc). I am packed!!!

I am so      !!!

Unless of course someone posts some great idea and then I have to pack that.

5 days!!!

Desiree

IS ANYBODY EXCITED!?!?! :rolleyes1 :confused3 not much talking here? Everyone must be busy. All I have to say is: WOW! This stuff of getting ready is overwheling, and just my wife & I. I can't imagne what's it like for you moms that have to get all the kids things together. May God keep you sane during this time. :scared1: Take care, Vern ::MickeyMo

Yes...we're all definitely excited. But yes, we are most certainly busy trying to get ready!
