July 22, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise

I'm up and can't register!! Our cruise is paid in full, has been for a couple of weeks. The site may be too busy. I am going to try again, if I am not successful...I'm off to bed!:confused3

Tami, glad you were able to schedule what you wanted.

Let me know about the Meet & Greet. Haven't been Dis Boards, :confused3I've been busy getting ready for a family wedding in San Diego. I'm home now ready to start planning our vacation

Diana, you were just in San Diego? I'm about an hour north from SD! I hope you had good weather when you were here. It's been so overcast lately, except weekends, it's nice and sunny!
Yea, sometimes the site does that when too many ppl are trying to book at the same time. For some reason, I can't even get on DCL on my iPad!

Tami- yay:cool1: that you were able to book what you wanted!
I hope you slept like a baby last night:faint: <----sleeping.

Thank you all for all the advice. Linda and Patricia thanks for the kid info
So I got on last night and we were able to get everything we wanted except I could not find where you get the boarding time. It just said earliest 11 and board before 4???
We did get our cabin # :yay:We are in room 6000

If anyone would like to add any other information such as my son is into soccer, or Buzzlight year or my daughter is in love with Belle or tigger. That could be helpful.

Does anyone have an allergy or food restriction? Don't know if anyone is planning on anything edible. But I have a sister who is diabetic, so my family is use to having sugar free / low carb snacks on hand. Maybe none of this is necessary. I am probably over thinking things now. :rolleyes2

I haven't been on in awhile so I'm going to have to read and catch up tonight!
I wanted to mention that we booked brunch reservations for Palo for our sea day. I'm not adventurous enough to try a really "fancy" dinner, so this is a big step for me, and I'm so excited! Is anyone else booking Atlantis through the Comfort Inn?

I've read somewhere that if you don't get Palo or any of the other ressie that you want, keep on checking because some open up. Also, go straight to the excursion desk first thing when you get on the ship (no, I'm not diverting you from the Aquaduck:rolleyes1)

I believe Palo and Remy hold back quite a bit of reservatins for booking onboard. You can just stop by at the restaurant on embarkation and make reservations if still available.

Great job scoring good reservations gang! Especially Palo brunch. That is notorious for filling up fast- especially with only one at sea day. What time are your reservations? Ours are for 11 and I can make a meal last. Maybe we'll see each other there. Early check-in times are also a great score. You really hit a good run of luck. Glad to know I'm not the only maniac up late.

If you didn't get to book what you want, fear not. As stated before, DCL holds back quite a few reservations for many things.

Diana, the July Double-Dippers Meet and Greet will be at 3PM the first day in D-Lounge. Vista Cafe will be a back-up locale if D-Lounge is unavailable though we believe that is very unlikely. Looking forward to seeing you there.:thumbsup2

We just passed another milestone ladies and gents! Getting closer every day.
:woohoo::banana:

Jay, our Palo brunch is at 10:30. So I am sure we will see you there. :)

We do have quite a few 11:00 check-ins for our group. So what should my next course of action be to get a low number boarding pass.

Also, does anyone know for sure if they will be looking to upgrade their room at check-in?

I think I might need to start spending less time on these boards and more time preparing for all the stuff 4 people will need.

We're booking Comfort Inn to go to Atlantis! Have you booked it yet?

See you at brunch! Now I'm really hungry.....

I don't know what else anyone can to to get a lower number for boarding except be there at your early check in time. It shouldn't be too long.

Not planning on upgrading at port. We're happy where we are.

Our friends just booked a VGT in Aug for a 7 night on the Fantasy and $1,000less than what we paid for our 5night and our other friend just got offered an upgrade to a Veranda room on her June sailing and was given a refun of $350.....July 18 5nights now have a VGT for $1,100less than what we paid. Uuuggghhh, maybe it pays to book a DCL late:confused3

I just don't check prices for our cruise or around it for that matter. I'm happy with what we have, can't wait to go, and it's paid for.

Now I will check pricing on future cruises.....::yes::

Normally, I don't check prices ... But we just had a Mom's Night Out and we were planning and trying to coordinate our summer vacations :badpc:

I'm planning to book another cruise onboard for 2014, but from now on, I will make sure to check prices before the 75 day mark just in case a better deal comes along. Lesson learned.:thumbsup2

However, I'm so looking forward to the pre- then cruise - then post cruise vacation! Universal Studios, Clearwater, Florida- cruise- WDW- and then off to a week in Washington, DC! 17 days of vacation! Woot!

Last day of school is almost here!

GrOOvy Chic,

I loved San Diego. The weather was wonderful! A nice change from the heat and humidity of St Louis. Hope to get back soon.

I can't wait until our cruise. I got an 11:00am port arrival!

Just have to finalize our excursions.

See you soon,

Dian

Happy Mother's Day!

Ok, so who has early seating and late seating?

We have late seating. -just because we eat late at home anyway (7pm?) and also my hubby doesn't want to be rushed especially on port days.

We have early seating.

Just wondering for those of you who have late seating, do you see the evening show before dinner? If so, what time would that be?

When Bob and I cruised with them 20 years ago, we had late seating and were never interested in partaking of the midnight buffets. Although they were something to look at! This time, we thought we would pick early seating since we have kids and to give us a chance to enjoy the midnight buffets; only to find out they don't offer them anymore.

Diana,

Noticed you live in St. Louis. I was born on the East side of St. Louis, in Ill. I lived for 12 years on the South side of downtown in Affton. I worked at One City Center, in the office tower.

While I miss St. Louis, all my family is still in the area, I DO NOT miss the humidity.

Have you always leaved there?

Tami,
We have been St Louis for 5 years, moved here from Dallas. I know what you mean about the humidity!! I bet you are CARDS fan!! Hard to live in St. Louis and not be one!

We have early seating as well. We all four prefer the early time, my boys like to get their clubs when they open.

Do you have any info on our meet and greet? We should all rendezvous in the terminal since it seems there are a lot of families with early check-in.

We have two more weeks of school and then I can get to work on vacation.

We have the second seating. As a matter of fact we have only ever done late seating. Just love the relaxed atmosphere. No hurry to finish, plus more time for fun during the day.

Tami, yes if you have late seating your shows are while the early diners are eating. Then the switch vice-versa. It's a very efficient system I think.

BTW - Belated Happy Mothers' Day ladies!
