Lbollinger, thanks so much for the info! We are traveling with 3 other families (grandma & grandpa included) so I may be able to talk them into taking the baby back to the ship for nap time.
We have two 11 year olds ( b & g) in our group so we'll have to get the kids together!
I am debating the dress-up for Pirate night. I found adorable Pirate Mickey sundresses on Etsy but can't justify the $$, plus the 4 year old says she's afraid of pirates. BTW, favorite show.....you guessed it, "Jake & the Neverland Pirates" on Disney Junior. Go figure! Anyway, we may just do headscarves or something simple. I heard the staff passes out eyepatches and paper pirate hats anyway so that may be enough.

I've run into the same issue as to when is the Pirate party. Most of the navigators from the last couple years put it on the night you leave Nassau (for us night 3) but the planning sched online lists it on our sea day (night 4). To muddy the waters I called about a month ago and the CM on the phone told me Nassau day. Maybe if others give them a buzz we can get a consensus. The mystery continues......

As for dressing for it...well we're not going all-out but I am shipping out pirate hats down ahead of us so I don't have to pack 'em. They're a bit big for the suitcases. Still debating on a shirt but will definately be pirate themed.

I am a little confused How did you find out the info on pirate/fireworks night? When I called they told me it is usually on the Tuesday night (which for our cruise is the 3rd night) and the semi formal night is usually on the Wednesday night (for us that would be the 4th night). They said however the personal navigtor is brought to the room and is always subject to change. We want to plan to make dinner reservations but did not want to do that on the pirate night. Can you tell me how you found out it was the 4th night (wed night)?

I was doing the same thing! I was going to book Palo for Wednesday but when it added to my online itinerary (see below) it showed up as a conflict with the Pirate Deck Party. I have not made a phone call so I won't swear this is right but I changed our Palo because the itinerary showed it this way so PLEASE let me know if you hear any different!!

This is our first FE also. Yes, I am going to be making our FE. Months ago I found a thread where someone posted a FE made from Duct tape. My kids make everything imaginable with that stuff. So I had posted on that thread that I would have my son make ours out of duct tape. Since then, I have found an adorable FE where each pocket is made like a favorite characters clothing. Sooooo now, I just don't know what we will end up with.

I'm all in for a group picture. The day at sea would be a great time. Bob and I would love love love to book a Palo Brunch, which I understand is held on the "at sea day", so depending on the time we could at least meet for the picture. But then again, I am a realist, and I know our chances of getting this much desired brunch when we can't book until day 75 is a long shot. Guess we will know in 10 days.

Ok for CEisen DW (me) Cheri and DH is Marc our DS (4 y/o) is Corey and out DS (1 y/o) is Greg my email is cherifrant@aol.com I called for our cabin number and it is still not given...the woman on the phone said they may not assign our cabin number until 2 weeks before we sail. It could be anytime from now until those two weeks but she assured me that we will get a cabin before we leave. (I guess that is a good thing). anything lse you need please let us know

Very nice FE and stateroom. We just ordered our FE online and it seems similar to yours. Question I noticed you had a very nice decorated stateroom. I was reading that they would like to still encourage it but will charge you if you use any adhesives that take off the paint on the door (including tape). Did you run into this problem? and what did you use?

Cheri, I wouldn't worry about not having a cabin # until 2 weeks out or so. When you get the info, we will get it out to everyone. Besides that it gives you something else to look forward to.

I know you asked Linda about her door, but I would like to give my opinion if you don't mind. While I haven't ever decorated a cabin door, I have read that people use magnetic paper, so there shouldn't be any damage to the door. I purchased a package of magnetic sheets from Staples. It came with four 8.5"X11" in the package. It is made to go through an inkjet printer.

With that said my plan is to try and figure out how to print mickey ears and a few other things for our door. But we shall see if I can actually figure it out so that it prints at the correct size. If you happen to figure it out, I would love to know how you do it.

I agree with Tami, do not use any adhesive!! Magnets are the only thing allowed!

The last time I bought magnetic paper though I got it from Amazon at a really good price... But, I have had some trouble with my HP Photo printer feeding the magnetic paper, I do it one sheet at a time and even then it still hangs up sometimes.... If you run into trouble I got the magnetic strips that already have adhesive on the back and was able to stick just about anything!!

I don't want you to totally fill your door though!! I may help you with the magnets... hint hint....

But last time we had so many people make magnets that we put some on the inside of the door too!! LOL

A lot of people make frames or magnets that have the specific Cruise details. Like Double dip Dream July 22 Cruise or something like that!! I bookmarked this thread last year when I had never done it before and I copied it to share with you!!

All the navigators and pirate info, Castaway Cay info, movie info, etc... are there from the cruise a couple of weeks ago with our itinerary...

YEP.... Like you said, the other 5 day cruise's had Pirate night on the 3rd day??
We may not know for sure until we get on board!!

Wonder what movies they will have on our cruise? Maybe Chimpanzee? I wish (probably in vain) but, wouldn't it be MAGICAL if they had BRAVE on there??!!!

We have been on 6 Disney cruises and the Pirate night is usually held the day we leave Castaway Cay. Our itinerary indicates its day 4. Just started booking our shore excurisions, yeah. Tried to get a cabana for Castaway, but they are already sold out. I did book the Atlantis Aquaventure. Is anyone looking at doing this?

FE so excitted about this are we doing daily gfts? We did this for the 1st time last cruise and we had so much fun. Glad most everyone is on deck 8! Yeah! I'm also looking forward to the meet & greet. The last cruise we were the meet & greet was scheduled @ same time as ther sail away party. So we didnt meet anyone. Looking forward to meeting everyone, and ready for some sun!

Love the FE, were did you buy it on line? Yes they don't like tape on door, you can buy magnetic tape at Michaels to use. It works great. I think I need to start working on my decorations now. So can't wait!

Don't sweat not having your cabin # yet. We'll can get it at the meet-n-greet at latest. That and any last minute cabin changes can be caught as well. That'll be the business end of things I guess. The fun part will be putting faces to names. Shall I wear a name tag or just carry around a picture of my avatar?

For this reason we definately should do it day 1. What time would work? Before or after sail away party?

Thanks everyone for the decorating info. I will now try to get magnetic paper...Michaels is always easy.
My FE I ordered through ebay...gradysmommy I think is it. It gives you options to personalize it and since I can't sew I thought it would be a better option for us. My son was happy to pick the colors and the different Mickey hats so I thought it was cute. If you can't find it let me know and I will pull up more of the info. We are suppose to receive at the end of May.
Meet and greet : just let us know what works for everyone. We are going to drive up (from Miami) as soon as we can to get on the ship earlier than later. When is the sail away party?...is that a dinner/night time event or the obvious of immedately after we sail???
