July 20th, 2011 – 10 Night Mediterranean "Mickey's European Explorers"

I also want to say a big thank you for the great FE gifts. Unfortunately someone with sticky fingers and loose morals helped themselves to most of our port magnets on the last day at sea - DD really loved them so was quite upset. Not quite the perfect ending.

Sorry we didn't manage to make it to any of the meets, something always cropped up to scupper our plans at the last minute.

Once again thanks for the lovely gifts.

Oh, no! Its so disappointing to hear that. (although, I was waiting for someone to take something off of ours, it was covered!)

We got away with not getting souvenirs in every port because my 7yo said the magnets were enough. Whoever gave the magnets, thank you!!!

Oh, silly question:

We didn't order the $399 cd copy of all of our pictures but found one tucked into our fish on the last day. All the other rooms around us had thie final bill but no DVD case.

There was no note saying "keep this and we'll bill your account" so is this a sneaky Shutters trick or did we get some Pixie Dust??

_______
editing to add that we never did get billed for our photo CD. WOO HOO!!! I think I know what our christmas cards will be this years!!!

What a shame :sad2:

...I have to say that we were surprised that ours 'survived' untouched as they were /are extremely attractive -what a super FE gift !!!!

...if it is any help we have doubles of Valletta, Barcelona, Villefranche, Ajaccio and the first general cruise one - as we had two cabins, we often got the spare ones left on the second cabin. PM me, and I will happily send them to you. :goodvibes

I just want to add my thanks for all the FANTASTIC FE gifts - mine were sad in comparison, but now I am inspired for our next cruise!

We had a 4:40 flight so we left the ship about 8:30 and left our luggage with RCN - paid 8Euro a bag to have them shlep them to the airport for us, worked out fantastic, btw - and we spent the morning at the aquarium, which was a lovely, relaxing way to pass the time. It was uncrowded (the queues were building when we left at 1:30, though) and we easily caught a taxi to the airport.

We did think about you as you'd mentioned you flight time the day before. Glad everything worked out and you got home safely.

Thank you! We'd gladly take your copies of Villefrance and Ajaccio. We have the Barcelona and Malta ones (they 'kindly' left us with six). We only need the Siciliy one to complete the series.

I will pm you my details. Once again, thank you so much!

Oh that's strange - we don't have a Sicily one either (not noticed that before)...:sad2::sad2:...was there definitely one for that port ? - I can't recall seeing it, but there again ours may have wandered too.......no doubt DH will remember if I ask him later.

....you are welcome to our spare ones. :goodvibes

Sounds like some of you have had nightmare journeys home. Seems ours in comparison was completely painless. After our daughter had a 40 min nap after breakfast we were off the ship at 8.30 am, in a taxi within 5 mins and had deposited our bags (for free) at our hotel just off Las Ramblas by 9.00 am. We were then on the HOHO tourist bus in Catalunya Square by 9.30 am! We all had shots each at nodding off a wee bit on the bus though!! We got off at Park Guell for some fresh air and had to dodge the rain for a while. When we got back to town we checked into our hotel and then slept for an hour, waking up just in time for the storm to start (we were thinking of the set sail party the Disney Magic (ooer!) On Sunday we checked out of our hotel and left our bags with them for the rest of the day, were collected at 6.00 pm and taken to the airport where our Ryanair flight was right on time. The only downside was that after getting to bed at 1.00 am, I was back to work at 8.30 on Monday.
Thanks to all of you that we met for all the hints and tips about the diy trips. They all worked brilliantly (even when we got on the wrong train from Naples!) One of the best tips was to pre-book the tickets for the Colliseum in Rome which let us dodge hours long queues and walk straight in, audio guides in hand. They also got us admission to Palatine Hill. Our daughter had a slightly different holiday to us, having met 3 new friends and "doing her own thing" most days - thanks girls.
Hope to meet you all again soon.
Take care, Fiona Alex and Emma

I've just plucked up the courage and jumped on the scales. I've managed to put on 12.5lbs during the cruise.:scared1: That has to be some sort of record.

Oh well, I had a great time getting there. Back to the diet.

Ernie.

Hi everyone,

Yes, it's back to normal: we're at work again. But we have some great memory's from the cruise: The FE was great: thanks for the gifts! We enjoyed it very much. And we had great tablecompanions in the evening :stir: After the cruise, we stayed one more day in Barcelona, went to Parc Guell and the Sagrada Familia, and then enjoyed the swimming pool at the hotel until the storm started. We wanted to go to our favorite Tapas restaurant (Bar del Pi) in the evening, but it was closed: their kitchen is in the cellar, so everything was in the water. So we went to another resaurant near the catedral wich was also fine.

We hope to see you all back sometimes: next year no cruise for us: we wait 'till october to see what DCL will offer in 2013: let hope something in Europe (rumours: the Baltic, East med...)

Hello all my fellow disboarders from Med cruise. Belive it or not, we just returned from our vaction. Yes, we were gone a total of 28 days. We went on to Palma Mallorca and then another day in Barcelona. We had a surprise "trip" to New York and Dallas as we had to return to Spain mid flight home due to a disgruntled passenger!!! We then were taken to New York where we spent five hours and missed our connection home. Then we were sent to Dallas and got to spend the night before arriving home in New Mexico. Glad it all happened coming home and not going. We are glad to hear everyone is home safely.

I am definitely having cruise withdrawls. I sure wish I had a stateroom hostess and dining servers at my house!!

It was so great meeting so many of you. My dds talk about all the disboarders they met in camp. Thanks Kate for putting together the Fish Extenders. And, thank you all for the super fun gifts!! I have lots of great ideas for our next cruise (which is booked for this Thanksgiving out of LA). All of us in our group absolutely loved it!! I would highly recommend to do it again - even with older kiddos.

I was the one who made the magnets for each port. There was one for every port. I am sad to hear that many were taken - I guess I'll see things positively and take it as a complement. Anyway, if any of you need any to complete your "magnet sets" I will gladly make some and ship them to you - just send me a PM.

Again thanks!!!
Dione :yay:

Hello

glad to hear from you and sound that you had a great times apart from storm in Barcelona....

I hope we meet up one day in future but we booked the cruise for 2013 with Deaf World Cruise in Europe for 14 days... We never did that before, we give a try...

Will back on Disney Cruise someday...

Ernierich - I haven't dared step on the scales!!! However, a few weeks later, I physically feel much healthier, so the lbs I probably put on, have probably come off!!!

Ridcolon, It sounds like you have had an amazing holiday - any chance of a trip report? How did you get on in London? What did you end up doing? The magnets were fantastic, we couldn't wait to get back each day and find another one! Whoever spent the time wandering around all the cabins, sticking them on, deserves a big pat on the back.

Scottishwee, how are you getting on with your dog? A World Deaf Cruise, sounds interesting, which cruiseline and where is it going? Who organises it?

I agree it is back to reality, it was lovely to meet everyone, I am still sad we didn't all meet up again during the cruise, but maybe another time!!

We are off to Cyprus in October for a week, will need to the warm weather, it has hardly stopped raining since we got back!

Kate
