In regards to Palo reservations, if another reservation is linked to yours, you can book other "status" passengers with you for Palo dinner. We are gold, and have been able to book silver members to dine at our table during the gold booking window.

Thank you all for your helpful advice, yes our dining rotations are linked so hopefully it won't be a problem.
We have decided to do all ports on our own except for Pompeii, by the time we get on the cruise I think I will be able to pass a degree on port excursions I have done so much research, I think my head might explode!

Can someone tell us the dress code for "formal" and "semi formal"? Is one black tie?????

The formal one can be black tie, last year a quite a few people were wearing DJ's (tux), although having done so on the first cruise we did, my Otherhalf didn't on the second, just had a jacket and normal tie. However, there were also people dressed casually, they don't stop you going in the dining rooms. I think Palos is the only place where you have to have a tie in the evening.

Semi formal ranged from suits, to short sleeved shirts, to be honest, I don't know why they put a code, because most people on the semi formal didn't seem to bother!

We just booked our cruise for July 20th (late to the game I know!) It's our first time cruising and we've got two little boys, almost 3 and 6 months when we cruise.
I just wanted to say hello!
I'm taking a break from cruise port research for a few days. I swear booking a cruise was like learning a whole other language. My brain is fried and my husband is tired of my out loud mental processes just trying to figure out what to do etc.

We did our first cruise with a 2 year old and a 10 month old and we had a ball, sure you will too!

Goodness this board is quiet, I expected to come back and find lots to read!!! Great time skiing, I did my first Black Run (despite having skiied for 12 years!!!!), then again, it was nothing to shout about as I followed my six year old daughter down!!!! Next season I will be well behind.




Ernie, I am not sure they actually keep any back, but if there aren't any left on line then when you get on board, go to Rockin' Bar D, where they have the Palos and Main Restaurant Maitre D's, who can sort something out for you. We did this on our last cruise and got the day and time we wanted. Friends of ours also asked for a date, which wasn't free, but they said they would contact them if they had availability later in the cruise, which they did.

We wanted a particular server in the main dining rooms and had put in a request, but when we got on board I went to check and found that we hadn't been given him. However, they were able to sort this out there and then.

Hope everyone is well, have you noticed that the time leaving Palermo has changed and also the time in Naples? Only by an hour or so, so probably doesn't make a lot of difference.

How is the FE list doing? Anyone want to join?

Hello All - I am very pleased to join the thread as we will be cruising with you. We are Jill, Rob, Jenna & Brook from Austin, Texas. The girls are 8 yr. old twins just about to complete 2'nd grade. This will be the families' 7'th Disney cruise and my 8'th. We had the pleasure of sailing out of Barcelona last summer with the K8T (Kate) family. Hence by virtual persuasion, we are coming again.

I will have very little time to plan, so I am hoping you all are going to make it easy for me. If you have questions about anything to do with the ship and onboard planning, I can probably help.

My husband will be diving in Malta, anyone else?

We are new here too, only just booked a few weeks ago and did check in this morning (got Palo brunch, woo hoo!). We are Matt, wife Heather, son Jacob is 11 and daughter Eliana (Ellie) will be 9. Also traveling are my mom Nancy and her husband Hugh. This will be our second Disney cruise (Eastern Caribbean late October, 2009). We can't wait, and doing the check in made it start to seem real. Now if Disney would send our air itinerary...

To designertravels...my dh will be diving in Malta also. So annoying. We were in Honolulu for spring break so spent an hour this morning trying to book the excursion online. DCL website was impossible...hello, if they want us to use the website it needs to be quick, I have better things to do than watch Mickey swim across my computer screen. We are home now and I need to book the rest of our excursions tomorrow, not that I've decided on the rest of them. DH and I are sailing w/ our son, 21 at time of cruise and autistic, and my 71 year old mother. Needless to say we will be doing beachy, easy excursions through DCL, not my cheapo independent way of normal traveling. I have yet to book the Barcelona hotel or any transfers...

Good, glad there will be another solo diver since they need to pair people up. I have found that on the web page if you minimize it for a few seconds it somehow pops to the next command faster. Yes, a pain! I'm a TA and it is just as slow for me. I have no other plans other than the dive and Palo, including air/hotel. So much going on right now. It will have to wait.

Helenreed, I'll have the girls get in touch in a couple weeks when soccer and dance finish up. They will love making another friend.
