It will be interesting to see it in Disneyland for sure but DCA is our favourite park so I might be a bit biased lolI’m glad you stuck with your trip!
So so exiting!! I saw PtN in DCA but I’m kind of excited to see it this time in Disneyland!

I don’t blame you. Glad you’re still coming! We considered cancelling this one with all of the Trump stuff but had everything booked including plane and park tickets so went with it. Definitely getting excited![]()
Honestly I am always cold but I’ve been fine in spirit jerseys at night (even when we went in December). The amount of people and activity just makes it feel warmer I guess? I still bring a sweater and hoodie just in case but generally fine with spirit jerseys.I don’t blame you. Glad you’re still coming!
I know it can be variable, but will we want sweatshirts or spirit jerseys at night? Not sure how cool it gets.
Oh you’re going to love it!!!Just booked! 7/31-8/4 at the Grand Californian! Disney World regulars heading to California for the first time!!!![]()
Thank you! I’ll add this to the first page!I just checked the DL website and there's still no specific July 4th entertainment other than Celebrate America Fireworks at 9:35. They typically do a WOC pre-show, but they do not post about it on the schedule.
I posted this upthread a couple of months back, but below was last year's schedule - we'll have to see what happens this year.
Crowds on the 4th in recent years have been surprisingly manageable. The one caveat is that DL is crazy at night because of the one-night only fireworks. I anticipate this year to be crazier with PTN. Earlier in the day before 5:00 or so is pretty light and after fireworks it's also fine. I personally plan to be at DCA for WOC and avoid the DL craziness!
July 4th, 2024 at Disneyland Resort
- 12:45 pm 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton at California Adventure
- 4:15 pm Flag Retreat with the 1st Marine Division Band from Camp Pendleton at Disneyland Park
- 9:35 pm - Celebrate America Fireworks at Disneyland Park
- 9:00 pm and 10:15 pm - July 4th tag before World of Color at California Adventure
- Special photo opp on Main Street (east side by bypass) with Celebrate America sign and Mickey and Minnie in patriotic outfits
Welcome to July! Where are you all staying?Hopping over from the August thread to join in on the July fun! We were originally planning to be in the parks 8/6 to 8/9 but with the unknown of the Incredicoaster refurb length (and maybe just a touch of “why not go a couple weeks sooner?!”) Our plane, hotel, and park reservations have all been changed! We’ll now be in the parks 7/24 to 7/27!
Thanks!Welcome to July! Where are you all staying?
I’m always searching and never happy with my stay. Candy Cane Inn this time. Works well for us with my mom (71) who could use the shuttle (and refuses any other help). But I’m always looking for a good deal. Thanks!
We’re booked at BW Stovalls for now, but I’m keeping an eye on prices in a few other places!
I hear you! We’ve done all three of the on property hotels in the past, but it wasn’t quite in the budget this time. BW Stovalls is where my husband and I have stayed on our kid free trips and we love it as an alternative and I was able to get a really good rate for our new dates. I’ve also stayed at the Alamo Inn (on a solo trip where I just needed a bed at night, haha!) and for our last family trip we stayed in a bunk bed room at Portofino Inn & Suites.I’m always searching and never happy with my stay. I’ve heard so many good things about Candy Cane Inn!
That’s a beautiful long trip! You’ll love the DHLHi everyone ! Jumping in and joining the July group- we are taking our first trip ever to DL 7/15 - 7/22. We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. It’s myself, my husband and 18 year old daughter. We are WDW vets but DL is all new to us. Excited that our trip is almost here.
ADR for 3 at Blue Bayou 7/2 3:40 pm is canceled. Extra Room Reservation at VDH from 7/2-74 is also canceled.Giving our fellow early July Disney guests a heads up: I have a reservation for 3 to Blue Bayou restaurant on July 2nd at 3:40 pm, that I'll release sometime today. I was able to snag a reservation for July 4th.
And I had reserved a Duo Studio - Preferred View room at VDH from 7/2-7/4, expecting my mother to go with us on our DL trip. She's changed her mind and will visit her beloved sisters instead. I was looking forward to taking her around the parks and doing the most fun, and most underrated activity at the parks - people watch. Oh well, I understand that desire, having two DD with a strong bond. I'm also releasing this reservation soon.
As of now, we don’t have any other plans. We are flying from the east coast so we wanted to give ourselves enough days to explore and relax. That’s a beautiful long trip! You’ll love the DHL
Don’t miss breakfast at Tangaroa Terrace, so tropical and a great pool side vibe
Trader Sam’s is amazing, you can try for a walk up without a res
Or walk up and get an outside table, in the evenings there are tiki torches and sometimes live Hawaiian music
You guys are there for a long time do you have any other plans besides Disneyland?
