July 2020 TRIP REPORT THREAD !!!

I’m guessing there are no members at FW in July.

We have a stay in mid August.
We also have a stay in mid-August but I think I might cancel it. I was hoping that we would have some reports from people there about how the mask wearing was going, enforcement on the site, on golf carts, pool deck, how bathrooms were but it seems none of "us" are there. We weren't going to do any parks so the lack of fireworks from the beach, social distancing, no sing along just makes me sad. We have New Year's reservations, and Spring Break next year to look forward to.

I hate to be traitorous but does anyone know any other sites that might have on the ground reports from the campground? I friend mentioned she read some things but I forgot to ask her where. Before I cancel, I'd like to read about it.

I belong to several Fort Wilderness Facebook groups. They have reported that you don't have to wear a mask at your own site/cabin, in the pool or on the pool deck. Masks are required everywhere else, even when riding bikes and driving golf carts.

P&J's is open for takeout and they have made the tables in Trails End available for eating the takeout food. The Meadows Snack Bar is open as well, but no food truck.

Movies are shown 4 nights a week, but no sing-along and no campfire.

Other than 4th of July weekend, it seems to be pretty empty from the reports I've seen.

My plan is to drive the long 72 miles to get there on 8/14, we will hang around the campground for the weekend, go to the parks on the weekdays, hang around the next weekend and then head back home on Sunday the 23rd.

We also have a week long trip planned for September, will be there for Thanksgiving and then back again for New Years (if I can get the time off from work).

I'm curious if the pools are getting to capacity and being closed to more guests.

we arrived yesterday. got moved to preferred from full hook up as only the 2100 loop is open. we did notice they need to trim some trees as we were hit a few times driving down to loop 200. some of the sites have lots of extra foliage so watch your slides.

can also confirm if you go to HS in the morning and don't get a BG for ROR you can get one at 1 or 4 from your site. was very surprised when it happened. we got a backup BG and got notified at 634 and "ran" back to the park. 😁

So what's it like?

Are they limited people in the comfort station? Or are the comfort stations even open?
Are they filling all the sites in a loop, or skipping them to leave space between people?
Are all the rides pretty much walk-on?
How are they handling bus and boat transportation? Skipping seats or what?

Thanks in advance for any answers you can give!

haven't been to a comfort station
we are packed into every site in loop 200, no spacing

most rides in HS were walk on a except galaxy's edge and new mickey minnie railway. BG for RoR, others were around 35 to 40, not bad. moved pretty quick

we have been driving, boat to MK tomorrow. i've seen pictures of the buses with seat dividers and heard i think only 5 parties per bus or so.

Thanks for the quick answers! I had been wondering about those things.

I don't understand why they would keep some loops closed, but not space people in the ones that are open. That doesn't make sense, but many things don't ....

From reading all over this forum, it seems the vast majority of people that are at Disney now, or going this summer, are DVC owners. I was anxious to hear from some campers!

my guess is that they can close those comfort stations so need less cleaning crew, but then again it's Disney so you never know.

I didn't expect any of the comfort stations to be open since all the sites have full hook-ups. But, your'e right, you never really know with Disney. They like to keep us guessing on a lot of things. :D

They would need to have comfort stations for the people in tents and pop-ups. Also the 1500 and 2000 loops are not full hookups.

Yeah, I know, those are loops we usually stay on. :-) I just assumed with some loops closed, they would be the first since comfort stations are mandatory there. Our pop up has a full bathroom, but I know many don't. And, of course, no tents do.

I'd be very surprised to find out those loops are open. But I've been surprised before.

I figured they would have canceled on any non-self contained units.

I've read on Facebook that 2000 is open but 1500 is not. I saw a video too of someone driving around on their golf cart and it showed the entrance to 1600-1900 was taped off and so was 1500.

I also read that the cleaning of the comfort stations in 2000 is not happening as it used to, soap dispensers empty, trash on the floor, etc.

Someone else wrote that 700 and 900 loops are closed too. Keeping 900 closed surprises me as that is a very popular loop.

2000 has about 10 spaces occupied this morning. Physician I work with is down there and did his morning jog through campground.
