July 2014 car rentals *helpful codes in first post*

No, there codes are published quite often in Car and Driver magazine for any reader to use.
Try both codes (XVC1092, XVC1093) usually one is better than the other and both give you a free additional driver.

Thank you - I did not have the 1093 code, but the 1092 code worked much better.

Everyone should keep checking carrentalsavers.com. I've log on everyday and check prices and have found 2 amazing deals, I've booked both and will cancel the one I don't need. Not sure if they are glitches or just trying to get rid of certain cars but here's what I've got so far..

July 30th- Aug 6th

Chevy Tahoe or similar $493 taxes included FOR A WEEK.
Ford Fusion or similar $209.00 for the week

2 very different options but both great deals. There is only 3 of us for this trip so the Fusion would be fine BUT the Tahoe is a great deal, usually over $1200 for the week.

For the week of 7/21, the only companies that have decent rates are Payless, Sixt, Firefly and Fox. Any opinions on these? All others are still over 300.00!

I finally have a car booked, although I'm still searching for a deal...

Full size car through Alamo
TPA airport (we're visiting family)
11 days at $286 total, inc. taxes/fees
Used Alamo Insider and coupon code AF5365ODH (free day)

We rented a midsize SUV last year and loved it... but the prices this year are very high. I may try Priceline as we get closer to our dates.

Kathy

Edited to add: I found $89/week full size on Dollar's website, and a mini SUV for $129/week. No codes, just through the website.

Dollar code 5MF03 for midsize SUV for $150.99/wk before taxes.

I booked 8 days for $251.28! That's better than the $335 I have with National =)

There's a 5MF02 code listed for minivan deals, but I kept getting an error, so I'm not sure what it is.

What is this code? It won't work in Corporate or Promo for me. Tx

It goes in the promo code. I saw it last night on carrentalsavers.com and it was in a pull down menu my browser has. I could only get the SUV code to work for me but not the minivan one.

"Save on Mid-Size SUVs in Florida. Rent a Mid-size SUV in Florida for just $150.99/week when you pick up from May 12, 2014 until July 31, 2014. Offer valid at select Florida locations, blackout dates may apply."

Thanks! No luck. Maybe they pulled it.

I haven't had much luck for July 4th weekend. 4-day rental $130 is the best I've gotten so far through Alamo with a free weekend day coupon.

I was just able to use this code for 6/30-7/14! Hoping it goes even lower, but pretty happy with $150.99/week! Try going to Dollar and clicking on specials - it is listed there. Click the link, maybe that will work for you.

Yes i just used it for our trip 7/12-17th for 211.00 after all taxes included..we still need another car for my mom and sister who are here for different dates so still hoping for a alittle cheaper...gonna give priceline a shot closer to my dates and see what happens

I was also able to book the Dollar SUV from July 4- 12 for a total of $251.28. I have never rented from Dollar before but can someone confirm that a spouse will need to pay the additional driver fee?

From Dollars terms of use:
D. Additional Authorized Drivers and Fees: All additional authorized drivers are required to qualify to drive the vehicle. To qualify, DOLLAR requires all additional drivers, including spouses, to satisfy our minimum age requirements, have a valid driver’s license and pay an additional driver fee.

When we rented from them last year, i believe they wanted $11/day for my DW to drive so I just did the driving

I had a problem using the code also, but the trick of going to "Specials" first worked for me. Thanks for sharing the idea! We booked the mid-size SUV for $215 and change after taxes and fees.

My friend picked up her car in Orlando Monday and they charged her $11/day to add her hubby.

I'm glad to see some of us saving money! I hope they go lower!

I have an Economy car for 6 days, July 10-16, with Budget for $192 using the "Up to 40% Off" W810011 and the "$25 Off a Weekly" MUWZ107.
Is this good? I was hoping for better, but I haven't been to Orlando in July before, so my expectations might be out of whack. :confused3

I just rebooked this rental using a RE/MAX Corporate code U264503 in the BCD box, with the same coupon MUWZ107, and it dropped my price $30. Now I have the 6 day Economy rental for $161.39.

RE/MAX has discounts with Budget, Avis, Hertz & Thrifty:
Budget - U264503 - Up to 30% Off Offers
Hertz - 1806667 - RE/MAX Corporate Rates
Avis - T757200 - Save Up to 25% Off Weekend and Weekly Rentals

Is this code for employees of RE/MAX?

The "RE/MAX Rewards" emails with discounts go out to everyone working for or with RE/MAX offices and agents, including contractors and temps. Not just agents and company employees. We share the deals we see on RE/MAX Rewards all the time, which is why I don't mind sharing the car rental codes here. Also, here is how it came out on my confirmation email. Doesn't even say it's a RE/MAX code:
