July 2012 Who's Going Thread

How long will you be there? Maybe we'll run across each other in line somewhere. ;)

We'll be driving all weekend - it's 22 hours straight, but with kids we're breaking it up a little. Plan is to get into Anaheim noonish Sunday, crash out for a bit and then hit the park for mid/late afternoon to close. I can't wait, I'm a bibbling idiot spewing all kinds of Disneyola and driving everyone around me completely bonkers. *grin*

We have 5 park days planned and will be leaving Anaheim on Friday the 6th. My parents are driving down from Seattle, at the speed my dad drives that will be about 12 hours for them. They're leaving at midnight Thursday night/Friday morning so my niece and nephews can hit up Waterworks park in the afternoon in Redding. We'll leave here at 5am on Saturday, if I was alone it would take me 8 hours, but my mom is riding with me and we're picking up my youngest daughter from her other grandma's house in Modesto, so we should be there by around 4pm on Saturday. I'll be splitting off from them the day we leave, Mom and Dad will be staying at my place with my daughter while I meet up with my unit in southern California for a couple of weeks of annual training. I can't wait!

So excited our family is going to be at the parks July 2-6:banana: Seems like I keep changing plans everyday trying to figure out crowds...lol! Thanks for everyone keeping info posted on the boards!

Got my dining plans all set now. Carthay Circle on the 24th, Cafe Orleans on the 26th, and Goofy's Kitchen brunch on the 28th. For the rest of time we'll just snack our way through. I'd love to try some of those new Carsland places.

Me too! We are at Goofy's Kitchen on the 19th for dinner and Blue Bayoo on the 20th for our anniversary dinner. Our photo pass plus came on Wednesday. All plans have been confirmed and now I impatiently wait! :woohoo:

The only dining plan we've made is for Ariel's Grotto....it's going to be a ladies only luncheon. :-) We also plan on eating at Goofy's Kitchen but we'll see how that plays out when we get there. We've never had a problem making a reservation while being there and it's always been July when we've gone so we should be fine. We are very excited and can hardly wait.

We've eating dinner at Wine Country Trattoria on 7/18, dinner at Goofy's Kitchen on 7/19, and lunch at Carnation Cafe on 7/20. I need to make a reservation for our annual "Volcano" at Rainforest Cafe for 7/21. We may make more reservations when we're there for the last few days or we'll just do it on the fly.

It's getting closer!!!

We're not making any dining reservations this time around. I doubt we'll actually go to any table service restaurants, to be honest. I know I want to eat at Pacific Wharf Cafe, River Belle Terrace and Flo's V8 Cafe, but I'm not planning times for any of them, just gonna eat when we're hungry.

I have been checking MouseWait several times a day. I want to see if there are any trends where a certain line gets shorter at certain times of the day. So far Nemo and ST seem to be shorter than normal. TSMM is aways in the 40-50 range like always. IJ seems to be a little shorter too. RSR always seems to be at 135 when I check, but if the single rider is open, it is less than an hour. And there are times when MJJ is 30 min. We'll see how it goes as summer goes on into July. This is all based on assuming the times people entered is correct. Anyway, I feel like this is all do-able with a good plan (which I'm still developing) .

Ahhh I should start looking at that app..I spaced it! Last trip the wait times were accurate, so I will keep my eyes peeled. I figured if CL is pulling a lot of visitors DL park might have shorter rides. Perhaps 4 days is doable after all! :confused3

I forgot to add myself to this list too!

We just went to DLR last month, but we will be back on 7/7 and 7/8 with the specific goal of seeing new shows and attractions.

The only ressies we have made for dining have been AG. We are planning hitting our faves (Riverbelle Terrace and Plaza Inn) but we want to leave the rest open to try some of the new offerings. As mentioned by another Dis'er I have never had any issue calling in a reservation while at the parks! Hoping to see Earl Of Sandwich open..that place is calling my name!! :flower3:

 <--- That's me! 2 weeks from right now, this very minute, we will be waiting impatiently at rope drop to enter DL for the very first time after a lifetime of dreaming! So excited, this is also my last week of work before 3, yes 3, weeks off! I can't wait! This week (and next) can not end soon enough!

I am looking forward to seeing what the line wait times look like in the next couple of weeks (with the exception of the 4th). I'm hoping things will be slightly less crazy with the blocked days...it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Since we have no EE to DCA, I'll need a plan! We'll be in the parks for four days starting the 17th...woohoo!

We have no EE either since it is doubtful we'll have time to reserve a spot at an APEE once our APs are activated. I've been checking the line times on Mousewait several times a day to get an idea of what to expect.

our drive is also 20-22 hours. However we leave in the evening one night and being that we pick up two hours on the west coast it puts us in Cali at just the right time. I drive non stop except to eat and potty and to switch drivers. The last two years it's just been me and the wife driving but this year two of the three kiddos can drive!!!!

We talked about doing nonstop but our kids are just a little too young, we think - almost 5 and almost 6. Plus, the almost-six year old (he turns six on the trip, actually) hates long car rides. Its just the thought of the big payoff at the end - Mickey! - that is staving off meltdowns.

Getting SOOOOO excited! Mere days away - almost ready to start counting down the hours til we leave.

Next Monday at this time I will be at DL :yay: I so excited!! My family thinks I'm crazy with all the planning I've been doing. My little ones don't know yet, going to surprise the morning we drive down. I will let everyone know what crowds are like.
