July 2011 Check in Thread Post your travel dates and hotel here

Hope you are having a great trip!! Be safe, but enjoy!!!

Thanks, disneydreamer74. We had a great trip.

Some things to note: We got to the GCH at 1pm and, of course, our room wasn't ready. We are DVC members and the DVC rooms are rarely ready that early. I did notice the rooms on the hotel side were ready for some guests at this time. We got four Fastpasses (two each for hubby and me). They are good until 9/11/11. They can be used at any fastpass line and the Little Mermaid line. The Little Mermaid is not a fastpass ride, but the user only has to show the special pass to a CM to use them.

The WoC had a special 4th of July edition, with a patriotic theme and fireworks. I felt so tingly and patriotic while watching this segment of the show. It was very special indeed.

We tried Little Mermaid ride and Star Tours 2. DH has never been on ST2 (I have) and we decided to try it after the first WoC show. We arrived at ST2 at 10:15pm or so. The standby line was 120 minutes long and the fastpass line was 45 minutes long. If you would like to ride ST2 (I recommend that you do!), get your fastpass early and plan on a longer than average wait time.

For those that will be at DL this July 4th weekend, can you kindly report back how you felt the crowd levels were. Thanks! :)

The crowds for Friday were pretty light, but got worst later in the day. Lots of folks arrive at the parks in the late afternoon, so that isn't that unusual. I don't know what the crowd levels were like for Saturday and Sunday. From our room, looking over DCA, it didn't look too crowded. I would venture to guess that the popular or new rides were a nightmare (like the 2 hour wait for ST2 at 10pm). Hopefully, others will post their experiences for the weekend.

Wishing lapdwife, Feathers and hjgaus safe travels and a great time. Their trips started today. Enjoy the fireworks!

OrcaPotter, happy travels to you, since you leave tomorrow. Arrive safe and have a wonderful time with Mickey!

Here's my mantra for today "5 more sleeps, 5 more sleeps"

I hope I can make it without spilling the secret to my kids! :goodvibes

I hope everybody that is there now is having fun! :cool1:

Thank you!! I'm too excited for words! I shall definitely report back once I return :cool1::dance3::banana:

We leave on Monday (7-11 through 7-15) for a last-minute SURPRISE (for the 8 year old) trip!!! Staying at Ramada Maingate, and very very stressed about not being able to plan anything like I do for WDW! I keep telling myself that it is a different park and we'll be fine, but the planner in me is still nervous.

Now if I could just figure out a way to do Photo Pass for less than the $149 price on the website I would be tickled! LOL

Only four more sleeps for me. I leave on Saturday the 9th and return on the 22nd. Staying at the Crowne Plaza Inn in Garden Grove (my dh only does Priceline, got it for $68/night) for the first week of our stay before we go to San Diego.

Hmmm. That sounds a little pricey to me:confused3 I know there is a photopass thread that you can research here on the disboard and it gives you the in's and out's of the photopass. I am not a disney expert but when we went for our first trip last year I ordered the cd when we got home and it cost $85 including the shipping - I think the cd itself was $70???or something like that. I have read - and can't be quoted for sure - that if you pay for your cd before you leave the park you get a free photo cd of pics that they have taken of the park for free. And free is good!! But you have to specifically ask for this promotional photopass before you leave the park. Also, I think WDW photopass is more expensive than at DL. The most you'll pay for the cd is $70ish. Hope this helps. I will search for the thread and post it here if I can find it. Have a wonderful trip!!!princess:

Plan an getting a Photopass CD?Don't forgot to buy Gallery CD b4 you leave Disneyland

Hmmm, I can't get it to post as a link, but it is on the first page of the of this planning board, and that is the title to it. Sorry...

Also, I found by searching all forums, a lot of info on photopass for WDW vets for DL newbies that may interest you as well. You just need to search photpass.
