July 2011 Check in Thread Post your travel dates and hotel here

Oh my goodness! I hope it gets resolved right away! That would do terrible things to my blood pressure.
I hope your son heals up quickly!

Oh man, I hope your DS recovers quickly!! We called the CCI and requested a bottom floor room. Maybe that would be helpful for ya'll, too.

That's crazy about the bank. I hope it was resolved! I would be freaking out.

Now, I'm off to round up the minions...

I am relieved to post that our money is there and the lady on the phone made it show up online for us. We suspect she really forgot to put the CD we bought through until we called- but as long as it is there, I'm happy. But it made for an anxious night.

DS says his foot is healing and feeling better today. As long as it continues to heal, it should be better by the time we go. We were lucky to get in at the last minute yesterday to take care of this before we left.

Now it is off to Kohl's to use my Kohl's cash before the trip and later a hair cut so I can look my best in all the DLR pics. :)

I'm so glad it was resolved! What a headache in the meantime, huh?

Happy shopping!! :woohoo:

Glad everything's ok. I just came back from the hairdresser myself. I can't have gray roots AND a ankle brace in all my pics!! It's one or the other...

Hi fellow Disneyphiles!

I am sorta new here, a WDW veteran journeying to the west coast for my first DLR adventure in 9 days! I am so excited, this trip was totally unexpected and was only planned in the past month. The short interval between finding out I was going and the actual travel dates, coupled with being very busy with school work had made the time fly. I can't believe we are in the single digits! We will be at the Clarion July 16-21 (myself and a friend's family--her, hubby, and 2 children ages 6 & 9). Now, just to finish my graduate project so that isn't hanging over my head!

Welcome! :yay: Be sure to check out the sticky at the top of the forums all kinds of helpful threads, especially Hydroguy's DLR guide for WDW vets. Good luck getting your project done!

Anyone ever stayed in LA. and traveled back and forth each day? I booked a hotel near LAX because I knew we would want to do Hollywood and the Santa Monica Pier also so I figured we could split the distance. Now I'm kinda regretting the decision thinking maybe we should have stayed closer to Disney so we could take breaks to nap and rest. DS is 5 and DD is a few days from 3, they aren't horribly dependent on their naps but I don't know after a full day of the park. :confused3

If it was me, I'd do two different hotels. With traffic you will have to get up super early to make it by opening. And don't forget you have to allow time to park in the parking lot and take the tram over. I know this because I've stayed at my sister's house about an hour away the other direction. Staying closer is so much easier! We are all still dependent on naps when we go to DLR and we are two adults and two teens! Being able to walk back to your room for a few hours in the afternoon makes a world of difference. Is it to late to divide your trip in half and stay near DLR?

Heading out with the family July 19-21...second time for me, and first for everyone else. We'll be at the Dolphin's Cove resort.

Welcome, Mush and Kbutl! I have added your travel dates and lodging to the first post. You both should have a blast and it is just around the corner!

Hello and welcome to DISboards!

When are you going to be in LA? If is during July 15 to July 18, please be aware of the 405 freeway shut down during that weekend. They are shutting down the 405 between the 101 and the 10. The LAX area will be affected.

Just in case you and anyone else needs more information here are two links that may help. The 405 Freeway Alert web page and the Metro web page has lots of information on what areas will be affected and how to deal with the freeway closure.

I'm not too worried about making it there by opening since they will be open so late.
Not sure it's too late or not, I booked flight and hotel through Travelocity. I logged in to see an option to change plans but I don't see how, :confused3

If you booked through Travelocity then I don't think you can change it. When we booked a hotel through them we were not allowed to change or cancel it.

DLR is open late, during the summer but getting there at opening makes a big difference especially with small children. The lines are much shorter and you can get a lot done before it gets more crowded later on. Maybe you could have one early day and sleep longer the rest. Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a great time! :goodvibes Is this your first trip to DLR?

.kj4ever18, ssuriano and Disneylovers2000 are on their way tomorrow. Wishing for your safe arrival and wonderful time at Disneyland.

Thank you for the wonderful travels wishes! I will report back when we get home on EVERYTHING!! Thank you, also, funatdisney for keeping this thread up to date and passing on your wishes! Much appreciated!:cutie:
Right now this is how I feel: :cool1::banana::love::cloud9::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:princess: X2!!!!

I'm so excited I could explode! We leave tomorrow morning and we'll skip the parks the first day and do the DD thing (hence my ticker saying my Disneyland vacation starts in TWO days).

This work day can't possibly go by any slower. UGH! Good thing I started at 4:00 a.m. this morning. I could never survive bankers hours. I don't know how some of you do it.

I hear ya on the work thang. I feel about useless today! I keep thinking of things I need to do at home to get ready for the trip.

Hi all -

I leave in 42 hours - I'm soooo excited :cool1:. Won't be at DL until Monday morning but getting to Cali being only two days away has gotten me pumped up.

Just thought I'd chime in for anyone in the area next weekend. There's a highway called the 405 that will be completely closed for 10 miles from late Friday night until early Monday morning (7/15-7/18). Traffic around LAX and the surrounding area is supposed to be horrific. Here's an article about the closure - http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jun/07/local/la-me-405-freeway-20110607.

Hopefully everyone at DL can just stay there until this is over.

It doesn't sound like the SNA airport would be affected, is that correct?
