July 2011 Check in Thread Post your travel dates and hotel here

I just called in my first dinner reservations for July 1st. You can book a reservation for July 2 today. Although today is the 60 day mark.

I made a reservation for the Steakhouse 55 for dinner. I still haven't figured out what to book for Saturday yet. Disney made an announcement today that the new, Tangaroa Terrace, will open on May 25. I definitely want to try there, but I don't think it is a place I can reserve since it is a causal dining restaurant?

I want to try Tangaroa Terrace too! I was wondering if it would open before July. So is it like counter service or just more cafe-ish?

I think it is a counter service type of restaurant. On Disney Parks Blog they describe it like this: "For lunch and dinner, Tangaroa Terrace – Casual Island Dining..." Read the full article on Disney parks Blogs What’s on the Menu at New Disneyland Hotel Restaurants, Opening May 25 . I also want to go and have a drink at Trader Sam’s – Enchanted Tiki Bar. We will be without the kids on this trip, so I think this would be fun to do.

I ran into the thread that talked about the new resturant and tiki bar right after I posted my comment. A day late and a dollar short, that is me today! ;)

They sound really fun. I probably won't be trying out the tiki bar with my 16 year old though. We'll just peek in to see the decor.

bluegrizzlies1, I have added your dates and lodging to the list. Looks like we will be in DL the same weekend. We both should have a good time!

Jill, I have added your dates. From what I have read here HOJOs is hard to beat on value and good choice for a hotel. You can book your dining reservations 60 days from your trip. I believe you have to call in each day at the 60 days mark to book each day's reservations. I will be making my dining reservations in 2 days (May 2), for my July 1st check in at the VGC (studio).>>>

thank you! I am still hoping for some sort of 3 for 5 deal...
Jill

Your dates are added, too. Your trip should be the greatest, since it has been a whole year since your last visit. Have fun with the planning.[/QUOTE]

I cant wait to make my reservations!! I have it marked on my calander and im so anxiouly waiting:scared: hehehehe

WOC Ariels Grotto, BBB & Minnie's Breakfast (x2). There may be other places as well but those are for sure!!

Some of us are ready to make those dining reservations. I have added this to the first post for your reference:

The Dining & Restaurants page for Disneyland is here. This page lists the DL restaurants that will take reservations.

For those that are 60 days from your dates, you can call Disney dining reservations at (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463.

I have made two dining reservations already. I just can't decide where to go for our Saturday night dinner. I just might want to park myself in front of SB Castle to watch the fireworks. That will change where and when we eat. Or I can reserve a World of Color dining experience and watch the WoC instead... umm.

When making my reservations am I able to make them for the wk will I need to make those reservations on others days?
TIA!

joelybelly, you will need to make your reservations day by day. Unfortunately, they are unable to book a reservation outside the 60 day mark.

The good news is that reservations at DL is not like WDW. You can make your reservations later than 60 days out and still get what you want. I'm going on the busy 4th of July weekend, so I want to make sure that I can get what I want and then not worry about it. I still wouldn't wait until a week before though.

July 17th - 26th, staying at the Park Vue Inn. :)

Driving from North Dakota to enjoy:
6 days of DL/DCA
1 day at SeaWorld
1 day split between Universal Studios and the beach

Our group:
:cool2: Me - My 5th DL trip (91, 01, 03, 05). Having the most DL experience in the group, I am the default leader and planner - which is why I'm here so often looking for tips & advice!
 My GF - Her first ever Disney trip, she's super excited!
princess:princess:princess: My daughters, ages 8, 7, and 4. - The oldest two were there in '05, but they were quite young. My youngest has seen so much video of DL and listened to so many ride soundtracks, she already talks like an experienced DL vet!
:cloud9: My mom - This will be her third trip (91 and 05). It's a huge help to have Grandma along helping out with the kiddos!
:cheer2: My sister - Her first trip since '91, and she was only 6 then. Has the park changed any in 20 years? ;)
 My BIL (sister's husband) - another DL rookie, he's very enthusiastic about the trip.

It wasn't easy narrowing down the dates and hotel choices, but thanks to all the great advice from this forum I am quite happy with what we decided on.

:goodvibes July can't get here soon enough! :goodvibes

July 19-25 for my son's dance competition ar Disneyland Hotel. We will be staying in a 1 br Villa at the Villas at Grand Californian Hotel. I can't wait for our first stay as DVC members!!!

Looks like you are going with a great group of Disney lovin' family. What a treat to look forward to a great summer trip with family to Disneyland. Sounds just heavenly.

oh and....Welcome to DISboards :welcome:!

July 19-25 for my son's dance competition ar Disneyland Hotel. We will be staying in a 1 br Villa at the Villas at Grand Californian Hotel. I can't wait for our first stay as DVC members!!!

Howdy neighbor! You will love the villas and will like the roomy one bedroom. Good luck to your son with his dance competition.

We are going from July 25-27th and staying at Quality Inn, although I am thinking about chaning to Desert Inn - so much closer! Normally we go in off season, but since I started teaching I cannot just take off when I want to. Please oh please do not let it be unbareably crowded!

Are there any special discounts posted for July yet? I'm hoping to find a better deal than the standard 'package'.

Just made our first dining reservation for Goofy's Kitchen! :yay: Gotta wait until tomorrow to do the next. I'm also hoping they release their hotel specials past July 2nd soon! --->soo close<---

Your dates are added. If you change to the Desert Inn just post here and I will happily change the information to the first post.

Crowds are difficult and make for a miserable trip. IMHO, the trick to DL, any time of the year, is to arrive 30 minutes before the gates open. For most times of the year (and I find this especially true on a Sunday), the mornings as the lightest times of the day, and the crowds start around 11am or so and get progressively worst from late morning on.

Hydroguy has a great thread to help you manage a summer trip. Check out Getting the Most Out of a Summer Visit to DLR thread. You will find useful tips for your July trip.

I really don't know about this. Hopefully someone will know and post it here.

Isn't it fun to make those dining reservations? Makes me feel like I'm getting closer to my trip.

Just made all of my reservations except Rainforest Cafe.

July 5th - Blue Bayou at 6:30 PM
July 6th - Ariel's Grotto/WoC at 7:30PM
July 7th - Carnation Cafe at 12:30PM

I am ready to be there right now!
