Hey guysJust thought I'd say hello ^_^
I'm in my room at the French Quarter and we got building 4! LOVE the location! I think DH is a little sickHopefully it's just an upset tummy!
Tomorrow is Typhoon Lagoon!
Sarah~ Things will "right" themselves soon I'm sure of it.
I'm still waiting for that to happen!!
The new floors went in and they're lovely.
My husband started his new job and, er, he loves the iPad they gave him (unsure of how work is going, but he is enjoying the toys).
When we got back from vacation, my boss walked in to my office and informed me she'd been diagnosed with (Stage 0) breast cancer. However, this Monday, she had appointments with all the doctors that will be involved in her care, and it's worse than expected (though not, like, Stage IV). I got that in an email on Tuesday, while I was working from home. She was out Wednesday for another biopsy, but was in yesterday, will be in today, may or may not be in on Monday and then will probably be out 8-9 weeks starting on Tuesday. It's incredibly stressful for me and she's ONLY my boss!
Oh well. I indulged in a little retail therapy so hopefully that will help.
SPEAKING OF: Yesterday, in the mail, I got a Disney gift card from my TA, as a thank you for referring some friends who went on a cruise with us.
In February.
*facepalm* Not my brother, who used my TA for the first time in June. But a gift card from FEBRUARY. Two weeks after I'm back from Disney. I can't decide what to do with the card (especially how to not lose it!). Oh well.
At the WL we actually got upgraded to club level for free! We were a woods view. When checking in I asked about it and actually got it. First time I ever asked for something! It was awesome having snacks all day for the baby. It was nice for us too. Breakfast was a real plus for us cause we both usually just eat cereal and fruit. That saved us 20 bucks a day alone. @ nights we stayed back for the dinner thing with them. It was real good both nights. nice pick of choices to eat. We actually filled up and cx'ed dinner those 2 nights. Didn't expect to either. Nighttime dessert was ok. nothing special. I would say breakfast the big plus for us along with food for the baby. She made herself right at home. Everyday when we got up or came back to the 7th floor she went right for the fridge to get apple juice. it was pretty funny.
our room was a magic kingdom woods view. perfect shot of the castle through the trees. we were room 7050.
all in all great experience and are deff thinking of changing to a jr suite for november's trip if the sister-in-law decides to come.
jim
We are a family of 5 so our CL room will be on one of the lower floors (there are no Jr.Suites on the 7th floor). This was our last trip with our youngest being free (She turns 3 in November this year) so we were able to stay in a bunk bed room with a beautiful court yard view (4145 I believe was the number). We are serious WL lovers though and find it suits us just fine with everything in one building, great views in the lobby where you notice new things every visit and a GREAT staff! We were treated to a view of Wishes from the roof of the Lodge on this last trip as well as a white chocolate Donald complete with a fruit tray and Granola with a great bottle of Evian and buckets loaded with treats for the girls. We have visited other resorts but just didn't feel any vibe from them.
I hear ya. I loved the feel of the lodge. It's warm. I always felt the GF was cold when we stayed there. There are always kids running around in the lodge. No one says anything. Just a fun place. I can't wait for our thanksgiving trip when all is decorated. I love how they bring Mickey and Minnie in for pics at night and all the games for the kids.
That's awesome about wishes. I heard about it. How did u come to be offered it can I ask?
Carrie - You've got the Disney Maniac Fever. As you know, you'll have all the energy once you get settled at Disney. Have a great time !!!
We are confirmed for July 14th - 22nd 2012 - We are going through WDW withdraws right now !!![]()
Bob, I don't think I relaxed at all from that moment until today, reallySometimes my DD's friends are over for the weekend to swim and sleepovers. I am use to cooking, cleaning and entertaining them until they all go home. At times, I could have up to 6 girls over at a time. They all call me Mr. Bob - Dad. I 've known all of them since Pre-K and they will all be going into the 6th grade this year. It's fun having them over.
I think I'm finally almost recouperated from vacation
We had a wonderful time at WDW! Honestly, the only thing I can say we'd do differently when we go back, is we would rest more and not try to cram everything in! We also would NOT go in July so we could miss the stupid "Backpack Brigade" as I now call them. You couldn't go into one of the counter service restaurants in the parks without having to deal with them, and their apparent inability to clean up after themselves! And if ONE more of them ran into one of my kids without so much as an "excuse me" I'd SCREAM!! I just started shoving back
...
Hope everyone leaving this weekend has a GREAT time! And if one of those annoying Backpack Brigaiders gets in your way, give them an elbow and say it's from me!![]()
Just got back to my mom's house today. We had a GREAT time (even with the heat and the BTG's) and it was so nice to meet the wonderful ladies in Epcot on the 20th! I just looked at my photo pass pictures (and edited some of them) and they look awesome! I won't be home when my CD comes though (at least I don't think I will) but will post them up as soon as I can! DH had a GREAT time and even said he want's go to back NEXT YEAR (although not in July lol)!!!!! We are thinking about going down in November for Gillian's 4th birthday.
Carrie, Tink, PopArtGal, DalmationGal, and Mo~ It was so nice to meet all of you and your wonderful families! Hailey really enjoyed having little girls near her own age to play with in the parks (if even for a little bit) and hopefully we can all get together on another trip for a visit (and maybe a lunch).
To those of you on your way down there now or shortly~Have a GREAT trip! Enjoy yourself and enjoy the magic! Don't let the BTG's take away from your magic, hold on to it for yourself and keep it close! Remember to enjoy the pool where ever you stay and take breaks from the heat!
In other news ... it's my birthday today![]()
SO glad you had a great R&R!!!!! The guys (and us!!) deserve it!!!
We are hoping to go next October for Alex's birthday LOL We will probably miss each other by a few weeks again if it works out!

NO! DO NOT DO THIS!
My Mom got DH and I a hotel room for one night so we could have some alone time and she also bought us 50 dollars for Olive Garden. We had a nice Adult's Only night and were discussing our next trip![]()
Sorry about your jet-lagged little guy. It's rough at that age. I was glad there were no internet weirdos, myselfWell I'm home!!That was the quickest 2 weeks ever!! Had a lovely time as usual!! Missing it already!! Enjoyed POFQ but not our overall favourite.
Was great to meet everyone on 20th - everyone was even nice and normal, not internet weirdos - hahaha!!

I'm in the soft planning stages for November 2012. Currently scoping out resorts to see if renting a Villa would be more economical or if we should do CL at the WL or try the Cabins at FW. I wouldn't mind doing the cabins so much if we drove to FL but will have to see where we are living next year. DH has put in for Ft. Bliss in El Paso which has me excited, I've only ever driven on the 10 towards CA past El Paso lol.
Seriouslymy DIS friends to the max and hope I get to see those of you I already met again and meet more of you in the future!
Awww 3.5 months will go by fast!!!! I am really sad Dennis will miss Christmas... they *could* come home as they won't be needed past November, but someone over there who has no life has made the decision to stay 'for the extra money' ... grrrr!!!!!
Yep I think next trip will be October 2012 for us. I was miserably hot this past trip!
I am not sure about military discount for rooms ... I hope they continue it! I am sure they make lots of money off of military families that would not go without the discounts!
Glad you got home ok! It was nice to meet you!
Carrie~ We will have to see what the Army has in store for DH, if they have us there for a few more years then I will most deffinately take the Mega Bus to NYC for a weekend and we can get together. I will introduce you to a Frozzen Hot Chocolate too!
Marc and I enjoyed our one kid free night but kept thinking it was weird not holding little hands or having a 2 year old crawl into bed with us at 6amI HIGHLY recommend seeing Transformers
ark Side of the Moon though! It's an awesome flick!

Kellie~ When DH and I got married, he was stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen and I lived in San Antonio. My main problem with Drum is EVERYTHING is so spread out! I have to drive 30 minutes to get to one friend's houseTexas will be a big change from Drum LOL We are in 'PCS' mode too ... trying to get Tampa (Macdill AFB) but we will see what happens. Also thinking of Ft Stewart or Ft Meade or Belvoir in DC area ... but we probably won't move until December 2012 or possibly try and stay until summer of 2013, to minimize school issues.
I agree, dis friends rock!!!!
I hope they keep the discounts - the military really deserves it!
I agree - DIS friends are the greatest - this has been an exceptional group!
I used to live in El Paso - my brother was stationed there multiple times. It has been awhile, but if you do end up there - I would be happy to answer any questions or give you suggestions.........
Would you believe that when we went through security at the airport there was a BTG on the other side, you should have seen Ashley's face! What really did her in was the group on Spaceship Earth taking flash pictures the entire ride - she was livid - she was complaining about it very loudly......
It was so nice meeting you and your family - Ashley also thought your daughters were adorable -
