July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

July 17th is our 12th anniversary --- and we were planning on Epcot/Coral Reef that day....
We are doing the Pirates Pals Cruise later in the week -- with over 50 people on the boat -- and I paid $210 for that!!

Is the Illuminations cruise more private?? We are family of four - DD10 and DS5 (on July 20).... I might be interested in splitting the price with you.

Yes, it is more of a private cruise. I believe it's a pontoon boat that holds 10 (maybe 12?) people, so it's ideal for 2 families to split the cost. I tried to call the reservation line today and the hold time was 25 minutes, so I gave up! I'll try again tomorrow and let you know what I find out.

Where do you print your Mousekeeping envelopes from? Just wondering if they are the same places I use.
I got mine from thedibb.co.uk. Nothing fancy about them, they just have 2 Mickey's on them and say For Mouskeeping in Disney print along with From and a line underneath to put your family name under. Where do you get your's from? What's on them?
Glad you liked it and they printed good for you! I printed mine yesterday and had them laminated at Staples! Hopefully they last for many Disney trips :)

Staples does laminating? Ohh thanks for the info! I will deffinately be taking mine there!

I found out offically today that my mom is only letting me keep one cat at her house while we are gone so I had to do a frantic rush to find someone to watch my DD's cat. I ended up on Craigslist and found a SAHM who also used to be a vet tech. Her rate's for the 22 days I am going to be gone (in total) are resonable so I am meeting with her on the 1st and bringing DD's cat with me so she can get to know her and her pets.

We found suitcases tonight that will not be over the size limit. Bon-Ton had them for 60% off, plus we got extra off for signing up for a charge card. They came to $37 each. That is one less thing to worry about now. :goodvibes

Now to figure out all the other stuff! I'm not nearly as planned out as others, but as long as I can get us to Disney we should be good. :rolleyes1

Oh, and I also found my KTTW from my honeymoon. That was touching. Can't wait to celebrate our 10th anniversarry Disney style! :dance3:

So who gets out their suitcase and start filling them one month ahead...or even before?

So who gets out their suitcase and start filling them one month ahead...or even before?

I just started buying things for filling my suitcase ;) I bought Nike Free 3.0's yesterday - I hope they're comfortable enough for the trip.

So who gets out their suitcase and start filling them one month ahead...or even before?

I have had the kids suitcase out for over a month now (We have 30 days to go). Took ours out yesterday...haven't had the chance to really start packing yet, but I love looking at them!!!

Quick question....I am at the 30 day mark :cool1:....however, I haven't gotten my ME tags yet????Should I be worried????:confused3...Of course I am b/c I tend to think they forget about me til I get them:rotfl:...anyone know when I should expect them???

Well I have a pile going in my room of things to pack but I have not actually started packing yet ... I also got the suitcases down from the attic.

I can't pack clothes and stuff until closer to leaving because we need to wear them still ;)

I have 2 duffel bags both in various stages of packing in my bedroom. I have a carry on in a funky stage of packing and an overnight bag to take into my mom's house. I've been doing this for oh about 4 months or more now though :rotfl2:

That would be me. I've been 'gathering' stuff for a month already and putting it in a central spot. I have to be careful, though, because dd doesn't know about the trip yet and I don't want to give it away. After her dance recital today, I'm going to get into serious list making.

I bought OFF last night to bring with us. I think I have all my shopping done now.

The nice thing is I don't really remember being bitten by bugs at Disney. So hopefully you won't have to use it.

For the people attending the dismeet on July 20, can I get an idea how many of your group will be there? If we are a few, I might contact Disney and see if we can get a photopass photographer.

There will be 5 of us.

My hubby and I are headed to the World July 15-20!!! I absolutly can not wait!!!

:welcome: Which resort are you staying at and I will add it to the list.

Hi all. Sorry, I'm a little late to the party. I've been on these boards for about a month but just today discovered this thread. We're going July 13-18. We're first timers, sort of. We went back in 2004 for a 3 night trip, and stayed off property and ate every meal off property too. Oh, and I was 6 months pregnant. What was I thinking??!!! This time we're staying at the GF and doing the DP, so I feel like this is our first "official disney trip"!! Our family includes me, DH, DS (13), DD (11), and DD (6). I read through a good bit of the messages but didn't see anyone mention the Illuminations Cruise. Has anyone ever done this? I called about it last week and there were still boats available. We're interested in going 7/17. We have a ressie at La Hacienda that evening, specifically so we can view Illuminations from the restaurant, but I know my kids won't really enjoy the meal. They're very picky. I really would love to do the cruise, but at $300+, it's a little too pricey for one family. The boat holds 10 people (I think), and would be ideal to split with another family. Let me know if you think you might want to give it a try. I'll coordinate it all. Thanks!!!

:welcome: Better late than never:lmao: I think Becky on here also has an Illuminations cruise booked.

We did the Pirates cruise April,2010 and it was great. The boats are not that big and each family gets a row. The guide was so funny. DH didn't want to spend that much money either but after he said it was worth it.

A request for a photopass photographer for July 20 has been made with Disney. We'll see what they say.

That is great if they show up.

Great buy on the suitcases. We have our KTTW too but from 1996. They were yellow then. What color are yours?

I will be packing the weekend before we leave. We leave on a Wednesday. We are going to Maine a few weeks before Disney so I can't really pack until after that. Plus if I pack to early I forget what I packed and then get all confused on what I need:rotfl:

Baggallinis are so great. I wish I had money to buy one for each day of the year! haha.... okay, that's a bit crazy sounding. :) I always unzip all the pockets in the security line too because it makes the guards happier. They definitely appreciate it! :)
:thumbsup2 You are right - they definitely appreciate it! My new one I bought on Amazon for under $30.00........much more reasonable than in some of the stores....

We did a Wishes cruise last year. It was just 10 people. They had snacks on boards for us and the boat captain had a lot of fun trivia to share.

I have two different sites I have used. They are
http://arwolff.com/heidi/
http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/mousekeeping.shtml

They both have a nice variety of designs.......

Congrats on the suitcase find. Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!

Will be doing that very soon - except for the clothes which we will be wearing. Although, if I buy any new outfits for Disney they will go right in. I have started picking things up at Walmart.....

I would probably call just to check....the number is 866-599-0951 I called yesterday to get extra luggage tags since we are flying Southwest....

Went to a Pirates baseball game last night - it was sold out - DS's Middle School band played the National Anthem -- they were great, the Pirates beat the Phillies and it was fireworks night, which reminded me of being at Disney! My new Bagallini worked out great - so I think it is a winner for the trip.

Should I plan to get anything from Disney via snail mail if we are not flying down? We are driving and doing a room/dining package .. first time staying on property so not sure if we will get mail?

I would think that the package comes with something.....did you book through Disney or a travel agent? You can also look at your confirmation from Disney if you have it. Mine lists the amenities like the discounts on mini golf and water activities, and the arcade card.......I think that is what they send you........

I booked right through Disney because we are getting the military room discount (bought our tickets through the base) ... I don't think we get any other perks like arcade card or anything ... it was never mentioned. Probably just need to have my conf. # to check in and that is all, since dining plan will go on our KTTW cards.

We usually get a clear plastic envelop with coupons and other general information in it. It also comes with luggage tags.

When are you telling her?

I had a very intense dream last night that we were AT DISNEY --- but I'd forgotten to print all of my planning cards - so i didn't know when to go to what parks - didn't have my ADR's with me to what restaurants to eat at; and I didn't have any of my other fun "stuff" printed out - or t-shirts made; :scared1:

and the worst part!!??? Splash mountain didn't have "logs" anymore - but these strange looking lounge chair things... :headache:

I'm so weird!!!! :lmao:

It's like a Disney version of a wedding nightmare! I know that you'll have everything ready to go.
