July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

We will be there for our second July 4th in a row. This time from July 2nd-9th. I just bought us both Annual Passes since we are going in 36 days before our cruise (hello, Dream!) and I just decided we are going in October for the Halloween fun.

Back to July, we are staying at POR for our whole trip. We do the Deluxe Dining Plan since I shouldn't do fast food for multiple meals. I have already made all our ADRs and I even scheduled the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Party.

We're arriving a little before noon on the 2nd (thank you, Southwest) and are going straight to Epcot--Le Cellier at lunch!

I started looking at EMH and, on the day that we are going to AK, there are EMH. In order to make the most of our time, I made our reservations for breakfast after the park opens to everyone else. I did that on a couple of occasions (at least I think I did). Here's our general plan:
You are going to love the Pirate & Pals fireworks. We did that in April,2010 and even though DH had sticker shock at the price in the end he said it was really great.:goodvibes

Juliebug

Please add us to the list! We will be at POR 7/27-8/3. I can't wait. :yay::yay:

We will be leaving the same day to come back home:sad1:

We are headed there 7/8 - 7/18. Splitting our stay between BLT (7/8 - 7/13) and BCV (7/13 -7/18).

Ready for a lot of fun in the sun!
:thumbsup2

Add me as well please :yay::yay:! Single mom of three heading back for our second trip July 18-25th. We are staying our first night at Pop then CR. We went last summer during July and I'm officially hooked on Disney:dance3:! Our ADRs are booked and I'm just counting down the days on the Dis boards! princess:
:woohoo:

Okay Disney Dream cruise is done! Time to look forward, towards July!

I need to buy summer clothing, I think.

What's everyone's favorite must-have for a July trip? (I usually go in off-off-off season) I FINALLY convinced my husband to buy sunglasses, so we'll both have those and light colored hats. How about shorts? I suspect that jean shorts are probably not practical - what does anyone suggest for men and women?

I did wear denim shorts some. It wasn't terrible. Remember to use the shows as a place to escape the heat and rain. We would duck into the Country Bear Jamboree or Philharmagic on a regular basis to beat the heat.

The kids are so excited to be going in July. well, so am I. how will we stand the wait LOL???

I wore a lot of thin material type shorts (light khaki and denim). My must have items were my Keen kyaking shoes, sunglasses, sunblock, mole skin and a good waterbottle.

So far I've gotten 1 set of matching shirts for all 5 of us, shirts with applique's in grey for my girls (red and blue for DH and I although I should have gone for grey) and am working on red shirt dresses with polka dot black and white skirts for the girls. The shirt dresses are going to be for a dinner though. Then there is the one shirt I got done for my oldest DD that I posted up on the Disboutique thread. I have to make those one at a time because the fabric is not cheap. There is a lady on Ebay I ordered some Princess dresses from for each of my girls (cotton/linnen type fabric so no itchies :banana:). I am hopefully going to be making tshirts for all of us for each parks first day but have to get the images put on paper to work on those.

What have you been working on for your kiddo's?

I posted this in another forum, not sure if it was the right one, so I'm copying it here in case I did it wrong, only second post. Little excited here, lol.

This is my first post on this board, so I hope I don't over step my bounds with this post.

This will be our 4th trip.

My wife booked our first trip back in 1999. I had no intentions of going to WDW. (I had been in 1984 as an 18 year old, didn't really get to enjoy it as we only spent one day.) I was griping about how much it cost and we were going in the middle of July and how hot it would be and how crowded it would be. So I was determined I wasn't going to enjoy it. Our daughters were 9 & 5. My wife hates roller coasters and any thing that drops, so that added to my frustration. Luckily, my 9 year old rode all the big rides with me, so the longer I was there, the more I enjoyed it. By the time we got back home after only 5 days, I was already looking forward to booking our next trip. We went in July of 2001, then again in July of 2003, both for 8 day trips. I had fallen in love with the place, lol.

Sadly, I would have to change jobs, and have not be able to return since. However, I have opened my own business and God has blessed me with being able to take another trip.

This one will be different though. My oldest daughter who was 9 on that first trip, has a family of her own and will not be making the trip. We have been blessed to have had another baby in between trips though, lol, and now I have a 3 year old son, who has to look at WDW on the internet everyday as we prepare for our July trip this Summer. That little 5 year old girl has grown up to be 17 now and I get a feeling, this will be one of our last times to go with just her.

Just so excited to find this place and wanted to share my joy of the magic of WDW.

Sorry so long.

Thanks

Ronnie

What have you been working on for your kiddo's?

So far I have finished two dresses for DD7. Here is the link to one
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=39884156#post39884156 post 3303

And then I just finished last night my first VIDA dress. I will post the picture on the other thread today. Not sure if I am going to make DH and I shirts for everyday but I do want to make the kiddos everyday.

Luckily DH is pretty easy going and just shakes his head at all my plans for the clothes.

:welcome: Thanks for sharing your story.:cloud9:

MIPRENDER~ I LOVE that dress! It's very pretty! I wish I had a machine that would let me do the close stitching around Mickey heads like that (or the talent :rotfl: I can barely stitch a strait line and still use the cheater lines that are on the machine to keep my seams strait:rotfl:)

So yesterday I got on DH's pc (it's the one with the Disney Font on it and for some reason the only one that will work with our printer) and made LGMH's for our stroller and our back pack with my cell number and our lodging name (for incase our's get's misplaced or taken:scared1:). I also made a sign to put up on our room door. Although the Mickey head is not Lime Green, the writing that says "Do You DIS?" is. I will post pictures of those after I get my dining room table cleared of all my sewing debris:rotfl::rotfl: I need to go buy some dollar store beads or something to go on the handles of our stroller as well to make it stand out more.

RONNIE~Welcome to the DIS boards! Dont be afraid to over post! Once this thread get's really rockin there will be a lot of planning information being tossed back and forth! So glad you have your little boy to share the Disney Magic with for just a little bit longer! It's always great seeing Disney through our children's eyes!

Slight changes to our ADR List though....

We had ourselves going to the Poly 2 mornings in a row and I didnt want DH to think that I was going to make him have the same character breakfast those days so we switched out Kona for Chef Mickey's and put Kona for our last morning breakfast. MY TA did the latter on her own, she is such a great woman, I didnt even ask her to put Kona down for our last morning!

Sounds Like you have been busy too. The Mickey head is actually done on my embroidery machine. I would never be able to sew like that either without.:lmao:
We have never eaten at CM for bfast, only dinner but I know our friends that is their must have bfast every time they go. But we are doing Ohana's with Lilo & Stitch. We ate there in December and just loved the food and the characters.:cloud9:

I can't help but wonder are there 2 July threads going?

:welcome::welcome::welcome: to Disneyfreak! Looking forward to hearing about your plans as well

We are staying at AKL Jambo Villas standard studio(s) 7/23 - 7/28/11. Have the room(s), park hoopers (5 day) and ADRs done. My parents are coming with us. Will be me, DH, DS (17) and DD (4) in one studio and My parents (77 and 78) and DD (24) in another. It will be my youngest daughter's and parents first trip to Disney World.

The ADR are not really done. Still decided between CRT and Ashuker princess breakfasts. We are all early birds, so I'm still debating between going to EMH in the mornings or doing early pre-park opening breakfast ADRs. My youngest is special needs so will be in a stroller, but I'll bring her walker. My parents are in ok shape, but a little worried about the July heat and crowds for them. I think being in the park before opening for breakfast would be nice. Would it be better to just do EMH in the morning? We plan to do the parks early and take breaks back at AKL in the afternoon. Haven't been to Disney in the summer since July of 1992. Always have gone in Oct, Dec or Feb. I'm also planning a resort only day.

Everyone is super excited about our trip.
