July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

We are staying at AKL Jambo Villas standard studio(s) 7/23 - 7/28/11. Have the room(s), park hoopers (5 day) and ADRs done. My parents are coming with us. Will be me, DH, DS (17) and DD (4) in one studio and My parents (77 and 78) and DD (24) in another. It will be my youngest daughter's and parents first trip to Disney World.

The ADR are not really done. Still decided between CRT and Ashuker princess breakfasts. We are all early birds, so I'm still debating between going to EMH in the mornings or doing early pre-park opening breakfast ADRs. My youngest is special needs so will be in a stroller, but I'll bring her walker. My parents are in ok shape, but a little worried about the July heat and crowds for them. I think being in the park before opening for breakfast would be nice. Would it be better to just do EMH in the morning? We plan to do the parks early and take breaks back at AKL in the afternoon. Haven't been to Disney in the summer since July of 1992. Always have gone in Oct, Dec or Feb. I'm also planning a resort only day.

Everyone is super excited about our trip.

:welcome::welcome:

July last year was pretty hot but I have to say the ONLY park we really felt it in was Animal Kingdom. It felt like you were in the middle of the rainforest there tbh. Just remember to take plenty of breaks, get out of the sun as much as possible and have sunglasses and sunblock on hand.

I've opted to do Akershus for breakfast simply because it's 1 table service credit as opposed to 2. I had the option to do both but figured it would be to much princess overload for my DH.

I can't help but wonder are there 2 July threads going?

:welcome::welcome::welcome: to Disneyfreak! Looking forward to hearing about your plans as well

I think I saw one on the Resort board a while ago but did you find another one too.

JAMBO... we are staying at the Jambo House too in a studio so we will probably be bumping into each other at the pool. :goodvibes

We are going July 9-16th, and staying at BLT. Recently became DVC members after our trip last August when we stayed at WL :cloud9:Can't wait for our trip!! :) :woohoo:

I just figured out which parks we want to do on which days, according to EMH and our ADR's. We will be on the regular DDP :)

Speaking of ADR's, ours are:

7/25- Dinner at Chef Mickey's
7/26- Dinner at Tutto Italia
7/27- Dinner at Nine Dragons
7/28- Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe (OOP)
7/28- Dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby (OOP)
7/29- Lunch at Coral Reef
7/30- Dinner at California Grill
7/31- Breakfast at Kona Cafe (OOP)
7/31- Lunch at T-REX Cafe (OOP)

I just booked our July, 2011 vacation. We are a party of six staying at CBR - arriving July 14, 2011 and departing July 21, 2011. We will be celebrating a one year anniversary, 2 college graduates, and my mom's 79th birthday.

HELLO FELLOW JULY TRAVELERS!!

We'll be at the World from July 3rd to the 8th, staying at Coronado Springs, to celebrate my 21st birthday!
party:
Despite being a frequent July traveler and having a July birthday, we usually travel to Disney during the later part of the month, so I've never actually been at Disney on my birthday. I'm super excited to finally change that. And to swing by the Polynesian for a lapu lapu or two. :thumbsup2

Akershus is only 1 table service credit, no matter the meal. Since I am new here I cannot post links yet, but it is on the Disney website.

We'll be at the Polynesia gv room July 14 and 15 before moving over to BC CL July 16-31. Can't wait!!!!

Forgot to post this a few days ago (flu season has hit my house :sad1:), but we are offically PAID IN FULL! :woohoo::woohoo::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::banana::banana::banana:

My DH said that they scheduled him for leave on the 21st though:scared1: but he told one of his higher up's that it wasn't gonna be ok so he's trying to switch with another soilder who has leave dates closer to what we need. He said he would call if the guy didnt say yes....so far though no call...I'm keeping my finger's crossed that I DON'T get a call from him tonight!

Sending Pixie dust that DH gets the dates fixed:wizard: And :woohoo: for being paid off.

Last night DH called me and told me that he DID get to switch dates with another soilder!:banana::banana: He will arrive in DC on or around the 10th of July which gives him a few days to unwind before he has to get on another plane :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going to join in here too! Our family loves WDW! It will be 4 of us, DH, me, DS4 and DS7. The past 4 times we've been there, it's been in January at the Poly. We are used to cooler weather and low crowd levels, so this will be an adjustment for us. Since we were just there in January, we aren't going to feel as pressured to do everything. (At least that's what I tell myself) We usually avoid the park with EMH, but do try to be there at rope drop. I think we might have to plan for AM EMH now though, to get that extra cooler hour in the morning. I'm still torn on that, as I think the park with EMH would be more crowded...

A lot of firsts for us this time.

No stroller. In January we pushed a double stroller around while the kids fought in it, and then at night they weren't tired! I'm not sure about the DS4. I predict he'll be asking to be carried before we even get in the park!

We are driving. We usually fly, but airfare for 4 adds up quick, and since it's our 2nd trip this year, trying to keep the cost down. We usually drive to Myrtle Beach in the summer, so we figure we are already over half way to WDW... how bad can it be?

We were going to stay off-site, trying to keep costs down to justify going again already, so I had decided on Wyndham Bonnet Creek, and then DH suggests staying at a value resort. Doesn't he realize the stress that causes my overthinking mind? I just can't bring myself to a book a value resort, when compared to staying off site in a 2 bedroom suite... I'm hoping for a special, but in the meantime we are booked for SSR, which I'll probably change in a few days to CBR! The CM talked me into SSR because they were offering a special rate there, but I didn't know anything about the resort! I booked it, figuring I can always change it. Things were so much easier when we stayed at the Poly! I'm so spoiled now!

Whew! Sorry! To sum it up - we plan to arrive July 9th, leaving July 15th, driving to Myrtle Beach, and then staying there for 3 nights.

I'm still kicking myself for not insisting we upgrade to AP when we were there in January. Definately need to get them this time.

~April

I am in!!!! :goodvibes
BLT from July 26-Aug 1

I soooo wish I could stay longer!! I see everyone on here staying for 10-14 days! I used to go to disney all the time growing up (used to live in florida). It never was a big deal to me until....I moved to north east had a baby, grew up! Now Its ALL I THINK ABOUT!!! I love planning!!!

Nice to meet you all!!!!
:flower3:

Well..... we're in the planning stages! July 11th-14th. :cool1:

3 adults (myself, wife, and my sister) and 2 kids for a short getaway. 3 of us have never been to WDW. Lots and lots of firsts :)

Can't wait and can't wait to learn all about planning - so far we're looking at Port Orleans (Riverside) with the dinning plan (1 sitdown). :littleangel:

Joining the July Board - finally! I got the free dining pin and was able to book today. We will be there from July 12- July 23 staying at the Boardwalk Inn. This is our third July in a row - I am so excited to finally be booked!!! Now I have to figure out all the ADRs!

Did anyone else see the email about free dining in July?!

We were able to get free quick service dining (for moderates/value) and then "upgrade" to the normal dining plan... and saved a BOATLOAD!

:banana::banana::banana:

We too will be there in the heat of the summer! July 9 - 15th this year at the Boardwalk!! Waitlisted for Beach Club, but I cancelled that and stuck with the Boardwalk since we never stayed there before. Of course the kids wanted Stormalong Bay - but being at Disney should be enough!! Can't wait!

We are at the Boardwalk too - Stormalong Bay is cool, but it is confusing and hard to keep track of kids there. I really liked the pool at the BWI.....even though it has the creepy clown face. My kids had a great time there.
