July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

The tour groups start around July 4th and increase in number as the month progresses........so the are pretty prevalent by the 3rd week.

That's interesting. I don't think I noticed any last time I was there.... Of course, now that I know, I'll notice them ALL!! :)

Ugh, I want to be there NOW!!! I'm so impatient! :yay:

We will be there July 2-9. Rented a home offsite. Flying husband's daughter and husband and 3 granddaughters down from PA for their first ever visit. I am having such a great time planning thanks to everyone on these boards.

On the 9th husband and I are flying from Orlando to Eleuthera for a week of R&R to recover. :woohoo:

Welcome to you as well! You will figure it out soon I'm sure....although your now in the double diget range:banana:

Not much going on in the way of trip planning. Bought the last of our Autograph books last night as well as some Teva sandals for my MDD. I got their picture dresses out of layaway at Burlington today too. The dress I was bidding on though I lost so I'm still on the search for a nice white or white backgrounded dress...Burlington here I come!

We are flying out early from Philly on the 3rd. We can't wait to see the fireworks that night!

Haha... I wish I had the money to go more often than we do. But, I'll take what I can get..... and then dream every night until we get there!!! :cloud9:

Soon though, we all will be in our happy place :D

Speaking of fireworks . . .

Originally we were going to just head over to DTD for dinner. But I made rezzies at Poly, could only get 5:30 at Kona, and thought we could watch the fireworks from the beach afterwards. Does that sound doable? Since we're staying off property, wasnt sure if we'd run into a problem with parking at the resort.

I'm pretty much just winging it on my own with all this planning stuff just based on what I've been reading here on the boards. Although, I pretend to know what Im doing when I talk to DH and the rest of the family. ;)

You should be fine. They are pretty good about parking if you have a ressie.

As long as you are talking about the 3rd. Yes, that sounds doable. I have learned to avoid DTD on the 4th at all costs (at night). I won't go into all the specifics of why we were there.... but it took us 1 1/2 hrs. (I am not kidding) to get from one end of the DTD to the other on the bus last time we went. NEVER AGAIN!... that's all I have to say. lol. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm super excited! We were holding out hoping that air fare would decrease a bit, but like everything else, it just kept going up. We leave out of Newark, NJ at 6:35 am on July 12th. It was $218 cheaper to pick the early flight and leave on a Tuesday. *We originally wanted that Monday* We've never left this early before and since the flight is only 2 1/2 hours we're going to get there super early! I'm really looking forward it!!

Phew that is an early flight. We are leaving on an 8 AM flight, and I will have all I can do to get my husband to the airport on time!

I keep checking Orbitz to see if were getting a refund :lmao: Apparently though the airline we are flying shot it's prices up by 10 bucks.

We are flying out of Regan National at 7:40am. We will be taking a cab to the airport more then likely. As much as I love the Metro in the DC area there is NO way DH and I are taking 2 suitcases, 3 carry on's a stroller and 3 little girls on the Metro with all the people trying to get to work that early in the morning. I was going to ask my DSDad to drive us in since he works in DC but he doesnt have to be to work until way later apparently. So my van is staying at my mom's house and were paying OOP for a cab. On the upside when we get in my mom will be able to come to the airport to pick us up.

We're heading down on 7/8-7/15! Can't wait.

We'll be staying at the Swan. If an AP rate comes out, we may switch to Poly, Contemporary, or GF.

Has anyone seen an AP rate yet for July? I haven't gotten any email codes (which i usually do) for room discounts. :(

Everyone has moved on from ADRs! I hate that I'm so behind! haha If anyone cares, our ADRs are as follows:

Day 1: Hoop-De-Do Dinner Show 7:15?
Day 2: None- just eating around the park!
Day 3: Le Cellier @ 7:15ish
Day 4: Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Package-5:10
Day 5: Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
Day 6: Chef Mickey's 8:00am/ Cape May Cafe 7ish
Day 7: House of Blues 8:00pm
Day 8: Crystal Palace 7pm ish
Day 9: Home! :[

Speaking of the tour groups, I don't know how you don't notice them! I see them all summer, but mostly when I have been there in July. They aren't that bad, but can be a little...much. Honestly, though, I never really mind them because I'm at the happiest place on earth.

YAY! 100 DAYS! Hope your countdowns are going well! :woohoo:
