July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

Arriving at WDW today AROUND NOON. WE ARE ALL SO EXCITED. I'LL BE LOOKING TO SEE IF ANYONE IS SPORTING THEIR LGMH. HAVE FUN IF YOU ARE THERE NOW.

We leave after I get home from work today. We'll load up the Jeep and head south as soon as I can find by Brazil shirt and plastic horn. :) Safe travels to everyone.

5 more days for us, then off to the 'burgh' night before our flight out to Disney! To be 95 here today in western PA...getting us ready for FL weather!! :)

Oh, and I am usually sick for holidays and anything else special... or so it seems. Tomorrow is our 10th anniversary. It makes sense I am sick now. :sad2: And, no need to feel sorry for me. I have gotten used to this, and I'm not really down... just want to be healthy darn it! ;)

I feel for you! I was super-sick for our first anniversary and it was miserable (one of those mosquito transmitted viruses). For our 5th anniversary, we had to cancel our trip (losing hotel & airfare) because my knee surgery, 6 weeks earlier, hadn't gone as planned.

Sometimes my DD's friends are over for the weekend to swim and sleepovers. I am use to cooking, cleaning and entertaining them until they all go home. At times, I could have up to 6 girls over at a time. They all call me Mr. Bob - Dad. I 've known all of them since Pre-K and they will all be going into the 6th grade this year. It's fun having them over.

You are a brave, brave person. :) I think any parent who has that many kids over at one time is! But it sounds like it's as much fun for you as it is for them!!

It's HOT here in Michigan. I mean HOT. Our temperatures are HIGHER than they ever were in Disney. However, the humidity is so much less and the "real feel" ends up being about the safe. I was very smug in the fact that I'm back at work, working an 8 hour day in AC... but then one of the chillers that cools my part of campus broke. It's currently 77 in here and holding steady, which is bad, as the temperature generally goes up about 8 degrees over the course of the day. I'm on the ground floor - I feel for the people upstairs!

It's really fun when we all get in the kitchen to cook and bake. You should see the mess when the girl's decide to call it quits.

With the heat index here in Fort Worth Texas, it is over 100 degrees. DD and her friends talked me into taking them to Six Flags next week. So, here we go. The kids will be starting school Aug 25th, so they are trying to get all the play time in before they start school.

I work in three offices, Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas so I just bounce back and forth weekly. I usually get off around 2:30 PM everyday.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

7 Days until I will be in my favorite place in the entire world!!!!!!

Staying at Pop Century for my sister's 21st birthday.

It has been a very long 8 months of not going anywhere. I love my job and the people I work with (now) but just to get away and be in the World will make me very happy and spending it with family. My sister lives in Ft. Lauderdale so I don't get to see her very much.

I haven't gone to Disney in July, every actually. I am prepared for the heat but probably not the crowds. Any suggestions?

Oh and how do I tell if you are Diser again? Look for Lime green or something like that?

I think I'm finally almost recouperated from vacation :lmao:

We had a wonderful time at WDW! Honestly, the only thing I can say we'd do differently when we go back, is we would rest more and not try to cram everything in! We also would NOT go in July so we could miss the stupid "Backpack Brigade" as I now call them. You couldn't go into one of the counter service restaurants in the parks without having to deal with them, and their apparent inability to clean up after themselves! And if ONE more of them ran into one of my kids without so much as an "excuse me" I'd SCREAM!! I just started shoving back :)

Anyway, a very exciting thing happened while we were at WDW. See, my "DH" isn't really my "DH" he's more of a "DBF" but we've been together so long, we own a house together, own 2 cars together, do everything together, and knew some day we would get married....well, that day is even closer, because I got a RING on this vacation :cloud9: It's absolutely beautiful! He was going to propose during Fantasmic at HS, but since it POURED down rain that night, and we left early, I got my ring in a glass of wine instead :cutie: So I guess now he's my "DF"? :lovestruc

Oh, and for everyone that said prayers for our Nephew....THANK YOU!!! We got some GREAT news right before we left! He's only about 1 1/2 years old, and he was having some testing done because of a low white blood cell count...well, as it turns out, when they did the testing at Riley (the Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis), the white blood cell count looked TOTALLY NORMAL! Then, they figured out whoever read the tests before had compared them to an adults white blood cell count, not a childs! Duh! I guess I can't complain, because it is awesome news....but...still frustrating :headache:

Hope everyone leaving this weekend has a GREAT time! And if one of those annoying Backpack Brigaiders gets in your way, give them an elbow and say it's from me! :rolleyes1

The one advantage to being 300+ lbs (I'm working on it) is develping the art of casually leaning in with my shoulder, when i see someone's obviously trying to push their way past. My family has learned to fall in behind me and stay in my 'wake'. Think of me and smile this week. :)

We learned a very early age to keep up with Dad. For many reasons!

Great !!! have a wonderful vacation. Do us a favor - try the tye-dye cheesecake and let us know how it was. We missed it again - 3 years in a row. We received a complimentary up-grade to a different resort and did not get the chance to go to Pop and pick up a couple of cheesecakes.

Thanks

Midori and Bob

My husband just refered to them as the Matching Shirts.

and CONGRATS!!! :cloud9:

Just got back to my mom's house today. We had a GREAT time (even with the heat and the BTG's) and it was so nice to meet the wonderful ladies in Epcot on the 20th! I just looked at my photo pass pictures (and edited some of them) and they look awesome! I won't be home when my CD comes though (at least I don't think I will) but will post them up as soon as I can! DH had a GREAT time and even said he want's go to back NEXT YEAR (although not in July lol)!!!!! We are thinking about going down in November for Gillian's 4th birthday.

Carrie, Tink, PopArtGal, DalmationGal, and Mo~ It was so nice to meet all of you and your wonderful families! Hailey really enjoyed having little girls near her own age to play with in the parks (if even for a little bit) and hopefully we can all get together on another trip for a visit (and maybe a lunch).

To those of you on your way down there now or shortly~Have a GREAT trip! Enjoy yourself and enjoy the magic! Don't let the BTG's take away from your magic, hold on to it for yourself and keep it close! Remember to enjoy the pool where ever you stay and take breaks from the heat!

Don't worry about the rain. I was freaking about it too, but it turned out to be a great thing for us!
That sounds awesome! I'm not so much freaking out as much as worrying that my friend (and us) will be able to experience everything we want to. We are prepared with ponchos though!

We went on a day when it was 70% chance of rain and it was great because no one else was there (granted it was BB). It started raining around 2 PM but it was just rain and it never really started lightning that day (so far as I can remember). That meant that the park didn't close. Most everyone started leaving around 2:30 PM including us. We were only leaving because we had dinner reservations at 5:30 PM and we needed to head back and clean up. Seriously, it was great. Also, it was supposed to start raining at like 10 AM but it didn't start until 2 like I said above.
Sweet! That sounds like what happened 3 years ago. They actually shut TL down (the water fun part anyways) due to a Tstorm coming in. We didn't figure this out until we were walking IN while everyone was walking OUT. Made for a wonderful experience since it wasn't crowded for the rest of the day :)

Thank you guys for calming my nerves :flower3:

RHMH ~ I wanted to say thank you! Because of your and your adorable daughter, I was able to remember the word for green in my Japanese class!

My dh and dd were sitting on the porch at Boardwalk yesterday. A guy walks up to them, hands dh a box and says "I'm Eddie, I'm with the company. Here's a free gift." It said it was a snowglobe on the box.

We opened it this morning, it's a beautiful 40th anniversary snow globe that they sell for $50! I've never gotten pixie dust before (well, I still didn't). It is beautiful. I just hope it doesn't break in the suitcase on the way home.

That sounds so cool! Make sure to wrap it up between shirts and other clothes on the way home and keep it in the box and styrafoam.

Does anyone know when they will let you start booking for November of next year? DH wants go in December, but I think it will be to expensive especially because we are working on 12 days to 2 weeks.

Carrie,
I would put it in your carry on or make it your carry on.

Are you taking Japanese classes? If so, that is neat. My DD Midori has been taking classes for the past 8 years. We go back home every other year to visit family for about a month. I live in Komaki, about 20 miles from Nagoya. I was born in Setagaya Tokyo about 1/2 mile from the Yuraksho train station.
