July 2007 Rate/Code Watch

I saw that they just posted room-only AP rates through the end of March. Hopefully, we will see something for July in the next few months...

DD and I considered skipping WDW this year to save for a cruise next year....
:boat: :sail:
But we just can't wait that long...... :beach:
So..... we decided to make our usual June trip!!
Need to get a really great deal..... looking for CSR again!!! :thumbsup2

I just snagged an AP rate today for Spring Break trip. I saved $180 for the 4 nights at PC portion of our 10 day trip. Sounds like "found" money to me!! Now, if only they would "magically" release AP rates for our June trip, I could sleep at night!

I don't think this is a discounted rate, but more of a way for WDW to book there "quieter" weeks. This is a marketing thing to get people in during there historically quieter times.

When I first read about this thats exactly what I thought!!! Great way to fill a few rooms without having to offer steep discounts.

But this is what I do not like. The way Disney is promoting the "quiet weeks" on their web site leads some to assume they are getting a discounted room rate.

There being tricky!

Just thought I'd jump in too. We're doing a 4 night cruise on the 15th and planning a stay at WDW beforehand. Not sure when we'd check in yet so I haven't even planned ADR's or anything. Still working on DH for as many days as I can get :goodvibes

We're usually Feb. people so this July thing just might be our undoing but it's for a good reason - our 15 yr anniv. We're not used to crowds and long lines but we know to expect it. We're just each picking 1 big thing a day to get done and everything else is going to be BONUS!!!

We have been to WDW many times in July, and you should be able to do everything you want to do, definitely more than just one ride. Fourth of July is probably the most crowded, but it sounds like you will probably not be there then. Just be sure to get there at park opening, and hit the bigger rides first-a strategy that should be used year round. We've rarely waited more than 15-20 minutes for a ride using that strategy along with fastpasses. The main things with summer are the heat, humidity, and daily lightningstorms. Evening EMH are usually more crowded than morning ones, so we also tend to skip those, but most of the parks have extended hours in the summer anyway.

Well,

I just made the only 2 ADR's I was planning on... :)

Ohana for dinner, and 50's prime time for lunch

According to your ticker you are going 2 days before me, how did you make ADR's already, I thought I couldn't do it until the 13th?
Lesley

thanks La2kw - we always have our game plan and are at the parks close to opening even in Feb. but we're used to 15 min waits at most. The heat is my other big concern - my oldest DS does NOT do heat well. We have misters and all but in our 1 May trip he was miserable. I'm sure no matter what we'll have a wonderful time - we are planning daily swimming breaks to help with the heat - since we've been lots of times we figure we can take it easy and go with the flow.

I just decided today that I think we will go in July. I might even drive and hit my husband's family reunion in North Carolina on the way back. That should save us some $$$ to stay at either Beach Club or Poly. I guess I better start planning. Gotta make my itinerary and ADR's. :tigger:

I was thinking the same thing. Folks do need to be reminded that there were no AP room only discounts for June and July last year at the value and moderate resorts and lots of folks were disappointed. At least you are wise not to get your hopes up.....but hope it's different this year. Has anyone checked the Disney website to see if there are any "quiet" weeks. I know the last week of May is considered a "quiet" week. I love this new function on their website, but wonder how accurate it is. In my neck of the woods, kids get out of school June 4th? -- We are near WAsh. DC. In the warmer areas down south, they get out in May.

and there wasn't much avail for the Deluxe resorts either except @ AK...since it's converting rooms to DVC, that will probably be a thing of the past too.

CR was sold out for last week in June both last year & this year quickly. Had hoped that rooms would open up in '06 a month or so out due to convention but, no go...stayed off-site for 1/2 of trip.

Would luv to see a nice rate @ CR/Poly for few days end of June to tack on trip.

DD and I going June 19 to the 24 looking for al good deal:woohoo:

I'm here for the same - watching out hoping for codes. We want to go June 23 to 30. New York kids get out of school on June 22 and my hubby was lucky enough to snag the very next week. Here's hoping...

I'm hoping for a code for the first week of June also. Good Luck Everyone!

We are going to be there the 5th though the 15th.... I just called them. Got Ohana for Sunday night, and 50's prime time for Tuesday lunch :)

ETA: I actually just switched the 50's prime time to Sci Fi....

We are going June 27 - July 7. I guess I should have started making my ADR's. Is that right? How far in advance can you make them? Probably won't get what I want now......:confused3

Unless you're shooting for V&A, or something similar, you'll probably still get pretty much what you want. You can make them 180 days out, which means you are green for starting to make those ADRs. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We've got another 4 days (and counting) before our window opens...
