Quick ? about the Fish Extenders--since I've even heard of it before.

1. do you make gifts and trinkets for all the families in the exchange or are you assigned just a certain family? Is it for all age groups or just the kids?

2. How does it work, exactly? I know I read something about a fish hook and a door but I'm really not getting any mental pictures here...

I did see the page of craft ideas. i'm trying to learn more of the nuts and bolts logistics before I can commit--I don't want to overextend but would do it if it seems reasonable.

Sorry, but we've had to cancel this cruise. My DS got the opportunity to work in Quebec for 6 weeks and the cruise is right in the middle of the time frame.

Happy news is that we are still going on the cruise just a later date (AUG25).

So, a PALO brunch on DAY 2 at 10:30 was released a short while ago, if anyone is looking for one. Also, can someone please remove our family from the fish extender participants list.

It really depends on you, some people do a cabin gift and others get a little something for the kids and something for the adults2. How does it work, exactly? I know I read something about a fish hook and a door but I'm really not getting any mental pictures here...

I will see if I can find a picture somewhere, but outside your door is a hook on the wall and this is where the FE hangs.

Still waiting for my pathology report, but as of Friday I have a posterior vitreous detachment with a retinal bleed. I have these huge dark floater in my left eye that moves around super fast. It is very distracting and makes me sick to my stomach. Have to see a retinal specialist in two weeks. AAAA. My eye doctor said that it should be fine, most of the time the blood reabsorbs back into the eye, but just to be sure she wants the retinal specialist to check for tears with his special equipment.

So more waiting and worrying. I just want to fully embrace this cruise! I booked it first day and now all this waiting so close to the departure is so disappointing.

At least 2 weeks now until I know for sure I can go...keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hey Everyone!!

I don't know about you guys but I was tooo excited yesterday know that the first NYC cruise left new york!! It made our "Magic"-al day seem so much closer!! I also can't wait to see some reviews about the cruise we are actually taking!!

As for us...

We are doing the Atlantis beach day, the other things just seemed like so much $$$ for a short amount of time.

Castaway Cay my DJ & DS are doing the stingray adventure and aside from that we are just gonna relax and enjoy.

We are also heading to HS first than MK after. My son LOVES Star Wars and can't wait to get on the newly updated ride!! And I can't wait to ride Tower of Terror again (for probably the 50th+ time) I am making him go on it also...he's not happy but oh well

Is there an updated FE list anywhere?? I wanna get started on some gifts

If you google Fish Extender you will get a ton of images and ideas for the extenders and gifts. After I reviewed a few of these sites it was much easier to grasp. I do not have time to be crafty especially only have 50 days left therefore I will not be making my gifts. At first I thought that was the best route and being original would be great. I realized there are a lot of cute things available that I could get after I had some ideas from the sites I read besides it would take me years to make something- so not happening- LOL. Happy reading.

I am sorry to hear you are still waiting having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer March 2011 and receiving results in April 2011 that I have the BRCA2 genetic mutation I know it is not easy to wait. I just hope the results are back soon and your eye clears up quickly ...........you have a cruise you are going to be going on in 50 days so start worrying about your bathing suit instead.

I've been reading this board for a while and thought I'd just introduce myself and say hi!

I'm Abigail and I'll be on the cruise with my best friend Nicole. We're both 19 and Disney obsessed so we've been saving our money like crazy to go. I'm so excited! It's our first cruise. Last year after I graduated, we road tripped from PA to FL and spent a week in Disney. We loved it so much, we had to do Disney again this year, but decided to do a cruise instead. Can't wait!

Hurray! I've got the pathology report and no cancer! So I'm free for now, but being BRCA1 I'm always going to be waiting for the next screening.

Just need to wait for the eye specialist, but feel like I can start finishing up my planning anyway. Sometimes we just have to go on faith that things will work out.

Becky, sorry to hear about your diagnosis and being brca2. I've been reading about it like crazy and man on man...its overwhelming. Glad you're going on a cruise.

Okay...the trip is next month as we are flying into New York on July 10. I have done no planning for months so I need to catch up quick!

Any suggestions on the best way for a family of 5 to get from La Guardia to our hotel near Time Square at 5:30pm on a Tuesday? The hotel suggested we just go to a taxi stand and wait for a van taxi. Not sure how often those come around. Don't mind some advice...

Also, is anyone planning on taking the post-cruise New York excursions to the airport? Our flight doesn't leave until 4:30 so although expensive it seemed a nice and easy way to end our trip. I'm just worried that since they aren't available to book until the cruise they might not fill up and then we need an alternate way to get to the airport and then a long, long wait...

Getting super excited now! Just hope my eye holds out.
