July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

I swear I did not change anything but you should read what Sylvie wrote. :earseek: What do you want me to do? Insist on 10? :sad2: It might mean that we are with Vanumon & Needalatte if we are on the 11 tour.

Please read reply from Sylvie and my messages:
My message to her:
This ship has been arriving at 7 am, people getting off by 7:30. Our documents state 8 am. I feel that the 10 am will be fine.

Her response:
Hi Darcy,

I'm going to keep you on for the 11am tour.

If your document says 8am, that means 9am Vallarta time. So this means you won't make it in time for the 10am.

I have you on with the rest of the others (Fran & Jim family).

Better safe than sorry.

Today feels like: VANCOUVER!!!!! Which is where I am from.

RAINY SEASON HAS COME EARLY.

Bring rain gear INCASE it rains. Normally it rains later in the day / evening. We have lockers (free of charge) for your stuff.

It is warm rain. People actually LOVE the rainy tours. But like I said, your 11am tour will probably not rain.

Wear dark / used clothing as you may get spray off the cables.

Let me know if we're all clear.

See you soon!
sylvie

Very sorry for any added stress to the group. :sad2: Honest I told her to keep the time, she changed it. :confused3 Guess I am going to be buying lots of drinks now. They will be shots of tequila! From the bottle I will have to bring from home. I am going to tie it to my belt and wear it on the plane!

SURPRISE - SURPRISE- SURPRISE (as Gomer Pyle used to say)

I had my wife cancel the loan payments, my son has taken the for sale sign off, and I will not have to be Fran's butler for the week ;) -- yes that is right, the BIG BROWN TRUCK made a trip to our home today,

And yes, WE ARE DOING THE DOCUMENT DANCE
:cool1: :cool1:    :cool1: :cool1:

I will be glad to buy a drink for the last group to recieve there docs since everyone was so nice to me, and I know what the worry is like.

I do have some small gifts for the Sail-away, But I think the Raffle idea is fantastic. I will definetly put together several raffle bags for different ages.

Darcy, Anytime is fine with us as long as we are all together. I feel it would be better if we all do it as a group. My wife may even volunteer to watch you son if he does not make it on the excursion, if we ask her real nice buy her some diamonds. She is going on the Truck but will not partake in swinging from the trees.

Jim

The documents have arrived today... We are officicially going on vacation now. I have been so stressed at work that I haven't even began to get ready for the cruise. I'm just trying to get my work to a place that I am able to go away for a week without my builders and architects having too many headaches.

Tomorrow is Ashley's 21st birthday, her screen name is Ashlle. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know who much the Disney bus transfers are from the airport to the dock?

Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. Please explain the gifts or raffle? Give me some ground rules. Is it just for the little kids? Or is it open to everyone?

Later, Vickie

Sending Ashley a :drinking1 big 21 birthday Drink and a a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH :goodvibes :bday: :cake: :bday:

So, as of last evening our travel agent doesn't even have our docs!! DH is about to bust a gut. I am not panicking...yet :) :) :)

For the raffle/gifts what if each family brings one bag for each of their own kids. For example, I'd bring 2. Then fix the raffle so each kid gets one?

Should there be a limit?

Happy Birthday Ashley :wizard:

You all will have fun on the canopy tour! Couldn't get my sons interested. I made the mistake of showing them that little short slideshow on their website...

Sleep Tight
Sherry

Please tell me more about the raffle. Is it one raffle gift per family or one raffle gift for each child in the family?
Angie

@#%$^#@& lost my 1st post so I will try again.

Darcy.....no big deal if we go at 11. We have it made if that is all we have to worry about.

Count us in on the raffle.......Fran has 3 hours a day to shop for raffle items if the kids do not mind shoes :rotfl: :rotfl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ashley!! :flower: :flower: :flower:

Only 7 more days of work

Dave

OK..........I admit it.....I bought another pair of shoes yesterday while Kelly was at gymnastics.

However........by buying that pair, I have eliminated having to bring two other pairs! NOW that is smart!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Next week is going to busy here. Haircuts, dentist, pedicures, packing........Not to mention working on this STUPID online course that I have to do for my certificate renewal. :badpc:

Happy Friday to all!
Fran
:teacher:

Waiting for one more email confirming this but I believe that we all will be on the 11 am together. Dave/Fran, Jim, Betsy, Wendy, and me. Total 20.

Wendy and Betsy: you said you're 7, what is happening with Riley? Does that mean one of the 7 is not zipping and maybe we need to tell Sylvie that Riley needs a ride but won't zip. Since you already have reservations for 11 am that detail is probably already taken care of, I was just wondering.

I have a few ideas for the 4 bags I need to make. I am assuming that the dollar store concept is what everyone had in mind. Did someone set a price limit? Should they be generic? Should we note Boy/girl/age? Is it our intension to do this at the DIS meet?

Not to be a pain or anything, but my John (5) can quickly turn into a MONSTER after eating candy (sugar). Could I request that we don't include candy? That way I don't have to be the BAD mom when I take it away from him. Just thought all you moms out there should know: I am the PRESIDENT of the "Bad Mom's Club". I might be demoted someday as it as been a few months since my name was "Mean-o Mom."

Hi All,

I think that the raffle idea sounds like a blast! I will bring gifts to donate for both kids and grownups. After all, why should the little people have all the fun? Big kids like to get stuff too :rotfl:.

I agree with the mom on the previous post (I am sorry I didn't get your name, I spent 6 hours on the Freeway last night making a 5 mile trip and am a bit tired today) that non-edible goodies are the best way to go.

I am a professional children's entertainer, clown and balloon artist by trade and NEVER give the kids I entertain food of any kind. I think they get enough candy without my help and nowadays with all the food allergies out there...you just never know. Also, I remember when I was a kid (that would be yesterday if you ask my family :teeth:, I was not a big sweet's person but I loved any kind of toy!

I am also on the buy the last doc getter a drink train as I feel I will be paying homage to the vacation gods that this will not be me or any of my family. I am currently doing the happy dance over here because my DH's certified copy of his birth certificate arrived yesterday - one whole week ahead of schedule (ya gotta love that!).

As for the raffle, we might want to do it like some holiday exchanges are handled, i.e. if you bring one, you take one. However, whatever anyone wants to do on this score will be fine by me.

Have a terrific day ya'll!

Take care,

Tisza

HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!! :cheer2: :flower: :Pinkbounc :flower1: :cake: :bday: :bday: :cake:

I guess we've all decided (those who wants to join) that we should prepare a gift, one for each child, a generic one and limit to between $3 to $8. This should just be a token or souvenir anyway. We don't want to scare off anybody. I'm pretty sure to a lot of us, this trip is already costing us a lot and we don't want to burden anyone. Make sure that it's also small in size. We don't want to be packing something that will take a lot of room in our luggage. Got to go back to work now......too many deadlines......I need this vacation now...

Vickie, what division are you involved in construction? I'm a lighting designer and our primary projects are residential high rise. We have some projects in San Diego, San Francisco and other cities in California, Arizona and Portland.

Anyone wants to invest in a condo high rise in Vancouver? I can give you some tips..........

I like those suggestions. :flower: It eliminates the pressure in case someone does not want to participate, or more likely, runs out of time. I have a plan that should work for any age! Now I need time. My town is very rural and REAL stores (except for Walmart) are over an hour away. :moped:

I'm am eager to see how acting you are all while I am gone. I'll be back to my computer on Thursday.

Although my TA told me she was sending my docs on Wednesday I still have not received them. Now she is out of the office until Wednsday. oh the stress, the pain! :confused3

Have a good weekend.

Darcy

:) Who is going to be in charge of organizing the gift exchange? Someone needs to bring some sort of numbers to hand out to people who bring a gift, as to what order they draw a gift. Is that the way the rest of you do it. Peolpe should probably plan on small items that will fit in their carryons baggage. Becuase we may not have our luggage in our rooms by then. Also is there enough room for the 100+ people in our group at the designated spot we are planning on meeting at? If I have it correct, its the upper - top deck in the middle of the ship above Pinnachio's Pizzaria at 3pm. What time is the life jacket required drill?

princess: To Clarissa,
I am an interior designer. I work for a large design firm. We do all phases of interior design work. My project load is currently heavy on new construction projects. We do all the ceiling designs, fireplaces, even move walls in the planning stages with the architects, builders and clients. Then we do all the material specifications, selecting ansd specifing all hard surfaces in a home / building. So that a builder can take the large specification notebook and bid out the job. I have one house that is about 13,000+ sq. ft. that the specification book is due on Friday. Then four others waiting in the wings. And all builders want their stuff yesterday. I also have a country club remodeling project. Then I have two model homes doing the specs all the way through to the furniture etc. Then I have alot of clients that I am doing the normal interior design thing that most people assume we are confined to do. I have an interesting and yet stressful job. We will definately have to sit and chat about shop talk.

I have to shoot to take Ashley to her birthday dinner. More later.

How many people have yet to receive their documents????

Hello All,

First and Foremost HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY Yippee! Cheer's! General Hoopla!) :wizard: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

As for the numbers for the raffle. I will vollunteer to bring some if we need them & can help out with that. I was thinking that this was going to be done at the 4th of July Bash, no? I don't think that the folks in my group will be ready to abandon exploring the ship for too long once we have just arrived. But whatever you folks decide is fine by me.

BTW, I spoke to those kind folks at DCL reservations (again) and asked my latest list of questions. I was told that if you bring your own wine aboard it needs to be in your carryon and can not be in your checked luggage as it will be confiscated if found. This goes for sodas too. Also, if you have any left over it can't be take off the ship (so plan accordingly). They suggested asking your room steward for wine glasses and an ice bucket when you arrive. They can also provide a corkscrew (but be prepared, I was told that they will charge $15 for the use of the corkscrew).

I was also told that you can bring your own wine into dinner opened or in a glass and will not be charged an uncorking fee as long as they don't open the bottle for you.

They also said that there are refillable mugs with snap on lids available for sale there on the ship (I have heard here that there is a bit confusion on this) but I plan to bring a couple of refillable mugs from home to make life easier for me. I may also bring a small thermos jug.

Oh and garment bags can either be your only carry on or if they are checked, count as 1 bag.

Just thought you all would like to know. FYI, depending on how much room I have in my luggage after the essentials are packed, I may be bringing animal balloons and a small hand pump with me so I might be able to help out any pirates or the like that need swords or parrots :).

Well, I am pooped and I still have to bake a cake before bed so I am signing off...two weeks from tomorrow will be departure day! I can hardly believe it and can hardly wait!

Take care,

Tisza

I am going to be gone for 5 days. Although I have no problem being responsibile for your confirmations it would be quicker and easier for each of you to recontact Sylvie. Put JULY 5, 11 am , Disney Magic in the subject line.
Here is the address: info@canopytours-vallarta DOT com

Fran, Jim, Betsy, and Wendy should recontact her with your information so you can get your confirmtions.

Here is the latest from Sylvie:

Hi Darcy!

GREAT!!!!!! So it's 11am then! I'm glad because MOST cruisemembers THINK they can get off the FLOATING CITY fast and it never happens. It always takes awhile it seems for people to get off the ship. And there is nothing worse to rushing to try and make a tour. This way you will all be relaxed!

Ok. I'm at home and when I arrive at work tomorrow, I will get all this info and send the confirmations out. Will it be ok to send them all out to you??? Can you forward them to everyone fo rme??? I would appreciate that as I'm not certain if I have everyone's address.

Or better yet, mail me their emails address.

I just assumed you were bringing me a t-shirt as you had asked what size I was. No worries.

Did I mention to you that the rains have come early???

Please DO NOT WEAR WHITE CLOTHING!!!

Wear dark or used clothing. Normally it rains in the later afternoon which means you'll be ok on the 11am tour. However, you never know. So don't be wearing your designer clothes!!!! You MAY get dirty from the off spray of the cables. I'm almost positive that you can't get the stains out!!

Of course, we do great with T-shirt sales on rainy days!! ha!

I will get back to you a.s.a.p.

Oh, one more thing. We have a LUNCH / CANOPY PKG for $80usd including the discount. Let me know if you and your friends are interested and I will send out the menu with the confirmation.

I will be in touch tomorrow.

Take care.
sylvie

The Longfamily has received docs!!!!

Okay, now I will get the suitcases out of the garage. I have to go back and read about 4 pages. I at least hope we aren't the last to recieve or the least of my concerns will be if DH will wear a lime green shirt. I didn't tell him anything about having to buy over 100 people drinks. :goodvibes

See you all in two weeks. :cheer2:

Congratulations longfamily on receiving your docs! I finally took the suitcases out of the attic. I plan to start packing a few things this week in between my DD's 8th grade prom Monday and her graduation on Friday.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads! Enjoy!

Still no docs for our family and needalatte! Of course, we used AAA, so we may  hear something Monday. Also, Monday my middle son Conner turns 9 (so add that to the list of crazy things on my list for the week). :teeth:

The raffle thing sounds fun. I may be able to find some fun stuff (inexpensive) for the sail away or 4th of July, but I have to get through Conner's birthday first. Any idea if our kid list posted somewhere on here is still current?
