July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

So how many teachers do we have on board? I promise not to talk shop (or school) on board, but it's nice to know what we have in common. I teach second grade in Elk Grove (CA). We're year-round, so our last day isn't until June 30. But I've been off the whole month of May, which has been great. Alas, I have to go back on Monday...

Longfamily, I'm obsessing too. My Passporter is due to arrive at Borders tomorrow, but I've sneaked a peek at vanvmom's and I'm like a junkie wanting just one more peek! I know that for the last four weeks of school I'll be saying things like "Put your name on your paper...Turn to page..." :teacher: but thinking "I need to pack this...Should I schedule a massage?..." :boat:

I've heard a little bit about noisy rooms, too, and hope we don't get one, but then, how much time am I going to spend in my room? I don't expect to sleep too much on vacation. When we go to DL, we're usually there until the park closes (or close to it) and I'm the first one up in the morning ready to go before they open. I figure I can sleep when I get home. Unfortunately, my family doesn't always agree with that. At least on the cruise, I can get up and get a Disney fix while DH and DS sleep a little longer.

By the way, we're booked for Marietas (PV), Stone Island (M) and Los Arcos (CSL). Still hoping to get the canopy in PV, though. We also have Palo dinner on the last night (res for 4 with vanvmom & hubby).

Can't wait!! :Pinkbounc

So what part of Scottsdale do you reside? North, South, Middle?

Azptcruiser,

I am on the very North end (Carefree Highway) although I grew up around the Scottsdale Princess (Bell and Scottsdale).

I also wanted to add our dinner times and dates for Palo so the kind people who track this can update their list.

Sunday 7/03/05, 8:00 PM

Thursday 7/07/05 7:30 PM

I will make it easy and take a Drink of the Day also.

Now if the kids passports would come in, we would be set.

Maybe if they don't come, we can take their portion and upgrade to a verandah!!!!????

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA :rotfl:

Just kidding..............

I bet you guys are hoping someone gets their docs soon... :rolleyes1 Boy, if we get them last we might have to take a 2nd out on the house to pay for all these drinks!! LOL The choo-choo (can't convince my 2 yo trucks aren't choo-choos) better get here quick and he better not be bringing my coffee...Well, on second thought he better bring my coffee and my docs!! I've tried to e-mail a 10am reservation for our group (4 adults and 3 kids) through the link you all provided canopytours-vallarta.com but still no response. I've used the "reservation" link on the web site twice, and the direct e-mail one once... still no response

We have Marietta's booked with needalatte and family as a plan B, but REALLY want to get confirmation about the canopy tour. Any suggestions from any of you? :confused3

It seems you all received really quick replies... I guess we just have to be patient :hourglass

Guess I worried TOO soon! I got the confirmation letter today! We are reserved for the 11am tour (guess the 10am was full). YEAH! We get to ZIP through the trees! :cool1:

Hey Wendy saw your cruise meet at the top of the page and had to say hello!

Thanks again for making my reservation at Palo's. VanVmom was nice enough to log on for us and complete our reservation since it wouldn't work on our computer. I'm glad you got your confirmation too!

Deb

Hi Deb! Still wishing we could go on the repo cruise, too. Two cruises in two months wouldn't be too much for me!

Wendy--Yay--we got the canopy :Pinkbounc

UPS drove straight past our house without stopping today. :sad2: Maybe tomorrow...

Betsy

Hey Betsy! I think after you get off the July 2nd cruise you'll want to go again with us...so I think you better book now before its too late ;)

My Passporter arrived late this afternoon. It's been kind of crazy around here so I haven't even opened it yet - don't tell on me :goodvibes

Did anyone go to a Disney store today? They seem to have joined the bandwagon and they have "cheap" Americana like t-shirts like lots of stores are doing. They are only $5.00!!! There's four different ones - they all have a flag (a little muted, not real bold) on the front with a character's head shot over it kind of (sorry I'm not better at describing!). There is blue shirt with Mickey, red with Minnie, white with Donald, and grey with Pluto. There are baseball style hats - I only saw red/Minnie and blue/Mickey. I didn't think to ask if there was Donald and Pluto that just weren't unpacked yet. There are also flip flops - only one style - kind of red/white/blue with just Mickey I think. I need to go back. They hadn't gotten to all the boxes and they didn't have a couple sizes I needed out yet.

Needalatte - we have a 13 year old son too! Or, he will be on May 30th. He doesn't like cake - he's requested rice crispy treats with chocolate chips mixed in. I guess I can handle that!

I love my passporter! I have only read 1/2 of it so far.
I have never used any travel guide tools like this before, so I cannot compare it to Birnbaum's. I don't like a heavily scheduled vacation, since you never know how kids will do when away from home. I figured since we only had a week on board and we had not been on a Disney cruise ship before, I wanted to learn as much as I could before hand so we could make the most of our week.

Here's more info on our group, when you update again:
We have cabin 7598
my sister & BIL have 7592
our friends - no kids- have 7596
my mom and 2 of my kids have 7636 - as she needs wheelchair acces due to hip replacement surgery

We have Palo ressies for brunch on 7/4 10:30 and dinner for my hubbies bday on 7/8 7pm for our last dinner onboard.

We have early dinner seating.
We will be celebrating our 21st wedding anny (still from 5/5), my son's 21st birthday jsut before we leave, and hubbies bday while on the ship.

No excursions booked - will play it by ear once the first cruise returns with reports.

We can't wait! Its coming up so fast now.
Jill

The UPS truck didn't even come into my neighborhood today. Maybe tomorrow. I can't beleive that tomorrow is June 1st. :cool1: We still haven't had to turn on the air conditioner. Great on the electric bill, but I sure can't wait for that warm summer air.

Hello All,
I'm counting down. I am still a teacher in my heart but I currently work in the LAUSD district office as a reading coordinator. I work year round. I'm spending every free moment researching this cruise . :sunny: I was able to book Randi horseback riding. :earsgirl: I'm still holding out for the Dolphin excursion for DD-7yrs old if not it will be a day at the beach in PV. Sunday afternoon couples spa and Palo dinner at 7pm. We have main dinner seating for all other nights.

I agree with 4fosterkids about not over scheduling the vacation. I have a bad habit of overdoing it. I definitely want to be able to relax and play it by ear just a little. This will be a stretch for me.Oh by the way, we are in 6592. I can't wait to see the Roy Suite. Thanks for including us again. The reports from onboard are great!!!

What's a passporter?

Boy has everyone been busy! I leave for a week and what happens.... five pages...people join us, invitations to the !Roy! suite, docs arrive! Oh my, we are almost going to hear real west coast trip reports!! Tick tock, getting closer.

UPS arrived today but they only brought a bathing suit from Landsend. We all know how "excited" that makes us feel...
